HK-7X 2.4Ghz 7ch w/ 5 Model Memory TX & RX V2 (Mode 2)

  So the RX are different from HK-6X to HK-7X, ie the RX I have from the older HK-6X will not bind with HK-7X? Or Corona V2?
Note: As above from HK..
Only HK-8X receiver is comptible with HK-7X transmitter.
Only HK-8R receiver is compatible with the HK-6X transmitter.
Can somebody confirm this?

-Reply from Malfamartin (953 points);
So you do not thrust HK? I should if I were you.
-Reply from ____SA (52 points);
They hve plenty of wrong/missing info about different products and i have bought many, but they are getting better every day.
I now have both HX-6X and 7X and have tested them too. 7X is what stated not compatible with 6X. Therefore Corona RX will not be compatible with 7X either. So for 7X is HK-8X the only RX you can have (for now).

Still HK-7X is a better TX than 6X, ie: 7ch, 7models, has idle and throttle high warning, much more easy binding prosess. Can also easy shift freq if glitches. And best of all same prize. Only can not use Corona RX anymore...

  Hi, I can use this radio for a tricopter

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
It will most likely not come back in stock at all. KDS (which is the manufacturer of this radio gear) stopped selling it. So HK will not get any supplies. Waiting for this to come back in stock will not work! Better buy a different radio like e.g. the Turnigy 9X.

  I need smaller (less weight) receiver for in-door plane. Is there any solution available? Is HK-8X the only receiver which is compatible with HK-7X transmitter?

-Reply from __siwy (14 points);
they are not compatible
-Reply from mathijs727 (20 points);
i've heard that the corona V2 transmitters work on this TX.
So you have choice of 4 / 6 / 8 channel receivers.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
mathijs727: Where did you hear about the corona receivers? Because this is totally wrong!!! The ONLY receivers compatible to the HK-7X are the HK-8X receivers. Even more there are to versions of these receivers which are not compatible to each other. So you need to make sure you get the HK-8X or the HK-8Xv2 depending on you transmitter being a HK-7X or a HK-7Xv2.
-Reply from thang25 (29 points);
For the HK-7X V2 transmitter, you would need a HK-8X V2. HK-7X is compatible with HK-8X only.

-Reply from Lawren5 (7 points);
Excuse my questions here but I'm a newbie and totally confused about which transmitter this is and what receivers are compatible with it. Firstly, the product title says this is an HK-7X transmitter but the description says (version 2). What is it? Secondly, which receivers work with it? Finally, does it require a cable and if so, what is the cable used for? Would appreciate any clarification you can offer.

-Reply from Quix-fz (117 points);
according to the kds-manual, there is NO expo function
-Reply from Vitalka (76 points);
If this thing has no expo settings, then it is useless peace of sh..t.
-Reply from consumerwil (72 points);
Is the Expo feature done through computer link?
-Reply from shorebird (121 points);
No expo but the dual rates are programable EPA for high and low rate. This will help a little.
-Reply from ministeve2003 (440 points);
It's too bad that it doesn't have expo... it's also too bad the other hk 2.4 tx's don't have expo.. they'd make a really good tx for a person on a tight budget... also I would like the PC Program feature like on the others... Would be great to have 5 models I could swap from computer just before going out to the field...

Use a Corona V2 DSSS receiver and you will have a full range system (reliable for larger distances).

so you tried binding the v2 reciever(CR8D) with the hk-7x v2? I just can't get it to work =( Can you give me some instructions with regards to the binding procedure? And also, when the reciever is powered, no LED comes on. Is my reciever defective?

  I have looked through the manual but I don't see where it tells how to do a range check. Can someone tell me how to do a range check?

-Reply from CARLOS (59 points);
Well, it does not have any special funtion for this purpose. But, you can leave your plane in the ground and move away, at least 100m, and ask a friend to check if servo movements are correct, and check if they stay stopped with no tx stick movements. Anyway, Ive been using it for a long time with corona receivers on a 91FS ASP CHIPMUNK model and never had a signal lost or false command. I am using a Lipo tx battery, lasts for many weekends. Enjoy it! Carlos
-Reply from propjobbill (57 points);
Thanks Carlos, May I ask which corona receiver do you use with this transmitter?
-Reply from edoctoor (11 points);
Look at the FILES TAB please and see if they updated the manual* I have read the manual and it is vauge and sorta state to keep the aircraft in site.
-Reply from CARLOS (59 points);
I am using Corona 2.4Ghz 8ch Receiver (V2 DSSS. Works fine, no range problems with electric and glow engines. Binding is very easy. Please pay attention to the following items:
- after turn on tx, please wait at least 5 seconds and turn on rx. If you just turn on rx immediately after turning on tx, it will not recognize the signal
- keep tx not too close to rx (keep it at least 1m away from rx), and it will work fine.
- these recomendations are valid during binding process.
Good luck!

  I really want to know why hobbycity made one reciver for only one TX. Why they are not compatible with others transmitters from the same brand? This does not happens in others brands. I'm asking because if each new radio I have to buy another reciver, so I prefer to buy another brand even if it is more expensive, because then I would not have to change all rx for all my models every time I buy a new TX.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so.

-Reply from shorebird (121 points);
This is dumb but it happens with other brands. Futaba just came out with a cheap system not compatible with their higher priced system.

  HEY guys questiion ,why buy this when you can get the Turnigy for lot less,i know there is a wait, i bought my second one and got that in about 30 days the first came less than that. I placed my order when they were out of stock, cause thats what you have to do if you want the turnigy.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
To be honest, at this time I see no reason why not to buy the Turnigy 9x. Since HK is selling the 9X as version 2 with included module it seams to be very good. When I bought the HK-7Xv2 about a year ago, the Turnigy 9x had some severe software bugs. And the old 9x came without a module, so you had to get that too. So at that time the HK-7X was the best/only choice. But as I stated, since the version 2 of the Turnigy 9X came out it seams that all those problems are now sorted out. At least do don't hear people on the forum complaining about bugs in the 9X software any more.

  Hello,
have two problems. First when i do half right aileron or more the servo reverses.This limits how much movement is available. Second I tried binding two different receivers. Hey.. I believe these transmitter only bind with the HK-8x RECEIVERS. Sucks right? You will see this right above the price display for this transmitter. So you may need to purchase more HK-8x receivers to link more Jets/Planes whatever you have. Hope this helps you.

Am I missing something here?

-Reply from sturdybirdy (12 points);
This is the hobbyking 2.4 ghz ,HK-6X which is a 6 channel tx mode 2
which came with a 8 channel receiver (HK-8R)
-Reply from ____SA (52 points);
No, it not the same as the HK-6X, This HK-7X is not compatible with the RX - HK-8R for HK-6X, as there is another RX for HK-7X called HK-8X. So I guess that with HK-7X you cannot use the Corona RX anymore?
Jason, what is the differens between HK-6X an HK-7X?
-Reply from acepro (66 points);
I think the only difference is 7 channel versus 6 channels in the HK-6X. Looks like they have replaced the HK-6X with the HK-7X, which is quite a ***mer for all of us who paid the same price for a 6 channel radio.
-Reply from ____SA (52 points);
So why are there two different 8ch rx for 6x and 7x? Read bottom note on HK-7X...
HK say that they are not compatible.
-Reply from Horacio Sam (342 points);
Surely are not compatible due the ID transmission code between Tx and Rx. I tried the HK-6x Rx with the HK-7x Tx and not bind. Keep an eye over that before buy more Rx. Regards, Pablo.-

  I've been using the KDS radio, which seems to be identical to this one, for quite som time. I'm very pleased with the quality and functionality of the radio.

The settings are a little hard to get at first, but it's easy to setup when you know what everything means. 5 model memories is great!

I'm using this both for airplanes and helicopters, all works fine. Never had a glitch or lockout with this radio!

-Reply from shorebird (121 points);
I am sure this is the 5 channel KDS radio with HK nameplates. There is a need for someone like you who have used this radio, give advise to new users. The only down side is learning to program the XMTR. Thank you!!!!!!
-Reply from hubben (300 points);
This is the 6 channel radio. And it certainly seems to be the same radio as the KDS.

There is the lack of expo, but other than that this radio has all you need. It's a really good radio for beginners to intermediate pilots using airplanes and electrical helicopters.

HOWEVER: KDS has recently announced the release of a 7ch radio which will be very interesting! Since it is not released yet and hc seems to get theese products with some delay it could be a while until we see that radio here though.
-Reply from shorebird (121 points);
How did you find out about KDS 7 ch radio?? Can not find it on their web page. We need a radio similar to the Airtronics RDS8000 and a low cost receiver that will bind with it. Thanks for the info.

-Reply from hubben (300 points);
I've got a friend who is a KDS reseller. He's getting heads up information about theese things.
-Reply from ____SA (52 points);
It is compatible with KDS 6ch TX/RX and Corona RX DSSS V2. Only lacs expo as stated. More important for me is that I can not find dual aileron setup or mixing for that, I like to setup/adjust ailerons independetly with two servos. Otherwise a good radio and easy setup.
Is the mini jack at the bottom useful for trainer??

  It seems that you can only bind one reciever at a time. Once you bind a different reciever the other one got un-bind. Is there a step that I missed?

-Reply from boker (20 points);
I found the answer to my question. You have to bind all the recievers at one time. Turn on the transmitter while pressing the bind button on the back then bing all the reciever one at a time without turning the transmiter off. once all are done turn off transmmitter then on, all reciever should be binded. If you are adding one you have to bind all of them again.
-Reply from Joao Paiva (44 points);
Yes you have to change the mode, to another mode and so bind the second plane. A1 can be bind with receptor 1 A2 can be bind with receptor 2 Check the manual how to change the radio modes/memory

-Reply from EricZ (171 points);
Hi Dejongster, I had problems at first too, because this radio does not bind like any others from Hobby king or $pektrum etc. Additionally the "CHenglish" instructions are hared enough to understand! Heres how it worked for me:
1. Turn on Receiver first! (of course with binding plug installed)
2. Turn on Transmitter while pushing bind-button (release bind button after on).
3. The Receiver will blink 2x , that's all!
4. Turn off Receiver first.
5. Turn off Transmitter.
6. Remove bind plug from Receiver.
7. Turn on Receiver first!
8. Turn on Transmitter (Normally - not holding bind-button).
NOW in about 5 seconds the receiver should start blinking real fast(like 5x per sec. or faster) and then the blinking slows down and stops! Then the red LED goes on constant and you should hear all the nice start up beeps from ESC and servos go to "0".

Now listen* if it doesn't work - do just like it says in the Chenglish instructions:
Do the binding procedure again and again, but do not turn off the transmitter each time. Leave the transmitter on and Re-bind the receiver by turning it on and of while transmitter is running in bind-mode (you used the bind-button at start).
After I did this twice - my reciever finally binded to TX.

Most people think it is not binding because with other HobbyKing and spectrum TX's the red LED goes on right away and stays on while you are doing all this. NOT so with this system.

Hope this helps.

Eric
-Reply from EricZ (171 points);
p.s. of course you have the bind plug in the Receiver for this part:
Now listen* if it doesn't work - do just like it says in the Chenglish instructions:
Do the binding procedure again and again, but do not turn off the transmitter each time. Leave the transmitter on and Re-bind the receiver by turning it on and of while transmitter is running in bind-mode (you used the bind-button at start).

-Reply from EricZ (171 points);
Sorry that really sucks! All I can say is, try it with fresh batteries - that you are sure are putting out enough juice(in the Transmitter and the Airplane). Otherwise try HobbyKing's support line - it sounds like something really is defective with yours.

It was one step different than for the 6 channel and worked. I am adding the link that I followed in case anyone else has the same trouble.

  I have a question about the HK 6X I can't get it to bind. I know there was a discrepancy with what was in the manual and someone last January or February had answered with a way that worked. Since then I tried to add an additional model and it erased the original bind and now I can't bind either receiver. Please help. I also bought a corona receiver because people indicated they worked with this radio. How do I bind that . Thanks. Randy de Jong

-Reply from ipin17_aero (39 points);
Actually, once you bind both tx and rx, you can use that receiver for another stored model on tx, just moved the rx between your model, power up your tx, select stored model on memory and power on rx, its simple huh?, so you dont need to unbind and bind again when you want to change to another model on your tx with the same rx.
-Reply from Kaleab (6 points);
Same here buddy. The preoblem with that is this, you MUST bind it everytime you turn ON the Radio and the binding ribon or the binding plug MUST be in the channel 8 at whole time. Thenm you will find it much better evrytime you turn ON you radio it will bind it\s self. BUT There happened lots of time that I had to re-bind it each time I turn ON the radio. So
1. Never unplug the binding ribon "plug"
2. You may have to bind the reciever each time you turn ON the radio NOTE: that each time you tu

I have HK-6X and I have binded 2 corona receivers (V2 DSSS) no problem.
1) Push bind button on the back and power up the transmitter.
2) Power up the receiver with bind pluge plugged in and wait for about 20 seconds and you are done.

works for me I have HK-6X !

-Reply from dejongster (45 points);
I am trying to bind anyh of my receivers and none will bind. I should have left it in just one plane and not tried to get more planes bound to it. What are the real binding instructions? The instructions for the HK 6X don't work.
-Reply from dejongster (45 points);
I need to add that I was trying to add additional receivers so I could use this transmitter with more than one plane. Not even the original receiver is bound to the tramsmitter. I cannot get it to bind again. How do I bind even the HK receive that came with it? Thanks.

I found part of my own answer. Here is a link to the KDS transmitter and receiver manual. ***********kdsmodel****/script/News/manage/webedit/uploadfile/K-6X%2024GHz%20Remote%20controller%20systen%20manual.pdf It worked to bind one receiver, but so far I can't bind more than one receiver to the transmitter.

Still didn't work. Google KDS K-6X manual. It takes you to a PDF file that had binding instructions that worked for at least one receiver.

try this plug bind plug to RX power up RX should see red light blink fast, remove bind plug sed light still fast flashing, press bind button on TX and power on TX when display comes on release bind button red flashing should become steady on when bound, power down RX power down TX , power up TX power up RX , good to go now always power tx up before rx after binding

  how to change program from mode 1 to mode 2, TX is mode 2 but I guess the std program is mode 1, manual not clear

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No the standard program for this TX is mode 2. But there is a mode 1 TX in stock also. To change the mode of the TX enter the settings and change setting S3. You can choose between D1 (for mode 1, throttle on the right) and D2 (for mode2, throttle on the left).
-Reply from rp181 (50 points);
You cannot change it. You need to buy the correct version. this is for mode 2.
-Reply from eluiz05 (8 points);
Mode 2: Throttle in left hand, mode 1 in right hand. To change it, only demounting and made internal changes. To do it inside the program of the radio, turn off your radio, them press buttons UP and DN at same time, them turn on your radio, use buttons INC and DEC to change between S1 / S4 option (left side of visor), go to S3 option, them you will see in the right side the actual mode used, that can be D1 for right hand, or D2 for left hand, use the buttons UP or DN to change the mode to fits t

  thanks to r_g_r re.throttle question, now sorted. in fact the manual is clear on this subject now I have a better understanding of the layout. Second question, does the system support "flaperon" ie, ailerons working through one servo Thanks

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the term "flaperon". Do you mean "Delta-Wing" mixing? Where each of the two aileron control surfaces acts as both aileron and elevator with only one servo for each control surface. Yes, that is possible! You need to set setting S2 to the option DP. You can find further info in the manual section: Delta Wing Mode
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Or do you mean normal flaps? Where you hit a switch and the aileron control surfaces move down a bit. If you then move the stick on your TX right or left the aileron will move up or down from that position. Sorry, flaps are only possible by custom mixing of channels. The HK-7X does not support custom mixing. For airplanes only the predefined mixes Delta-Wing and V-Tail Wing are possible.
-Reply from F100CUFFLINK (1048 points);
yes it dose ,useing 1 servo on each aileron.

Hey.. This Transmitter is a 2.4Ghz radio. Technically your capable distance is "as far as your eyes can see". It has a strong signal connection and will only loose signal if your Transmitter batteries run completely out. Sooo Always, make sure this remote has fresh or fully charged batteries.

  After buying this radio, I purchased a cable to train in fms. I got three channels working but for some reason I cannot get the ailerons to work (channel 1). I've tried three other simulators and had the same problem as well as trying the three simulators in both my Windows 7 64 bit rig and a XP 32 bit rig... I get the same results... only three channels are seen in all simulators (throttle, elevator and rudders... but no ailerons). I've searched the forums with no one addressing this issue specifically. The drivers installed fine on both computers I mentioned earlier and I've tried multiple settings on the tx. Can anyone tell me why I cannot get ailerons to work?

does channel 1 work out of the simulator, i.e. through receiver and to plane? Chris
-Reply from Mieciu (490 points);
I have exactly the same problem - no solution so far. Only 3 channels work with FMS and AeroFly - my old Graupner MC12 works perfect on the same cable (different plug) And yes - channel1 works in my models. We had the same bad luck? Other people claim that it works with fms.
-Reply from Darl (10 points);
Yes, channel 1 works out of the simulator Chris, through the receiver and to the servo. All the other channels work fine too. Thanks for the reply sa well, Meiciu, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Yes, it sounds like we both had the same bad luck. I ended up buying a cheap simulator for those needs. It would be nice to be able to use the simulator with the same radio I'm flying with though. :(

They usually restock the HK-7X very quickly. When I ordered mine it was on BK too, 5 days later new stock arrived. The Turnigy 9x now includes a module (which it did not until a few weeks ago). So with the included module it's an option now. Nevertheless it's not in stock either. And a lot of people reported huge software problems with the Turnigy 9x (lot of features not working at all or not correctly). I haven't heard from any real owner if those problems where fixed in the latest Turnigy 9x version.

Any other frequency should be fine, though. Someone using both may better answer this for you, just letting you know what I have heard.

  New to 2.4. Can I bind this transmitter to more than one receiver**-so I don't have to keep moving the reciever around everytime I change aircraft?

-Reply from Sunny (102 points);
I just thought into this more deeply. Would I be able to bind this to several RX's at once so I don't have to bind everytime I want to fly something different? Or will I have to bind it to another Rx everytime i switch aircraft? Thanks
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
*) First you need to select the model in the transmitter's menu.
*) Then follow the bind instructions.
-> This will associate the currently selected model with the just bound receiver. Other models stored in the transmitter's memory are not affected.

The transmitter stores the receiver's serial number together with the rest of the currently selected model's settings. Switching the model on the transmitter will also change the receiver to which the transmitter emits the signals.

  Welp, followed all binding protocol any which way I could think of, but to no avail. I've even used three different esc's. The radio turns on and flashes blue. The receiver when turned on will flash red twice then sit. I've let it sit long enough to have to change the transmitter batteries. I know they will work because following the steps and turning everything off "as if" it binded properly, I can turn everything on and the system will work for up to a minute, but then shut off. It'll be on anywhere from five seconds to around a minute. I'm at a loss as to what to try next.

  Hi This may be very noobish but what kind, and how many batteries go in? Is there a pack cus i dont like loose batteries

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
This transmitter needs 8 AA batteries. It comes with a separate battery holder that takes the batteries in a 4x4 configuration, so there are no loose batteries. That battery holder connects to the transmitter via a futaba-style plug. Just unplug it and you can charge without needing to pull all the batteries out. Any battery pack that fits into the battery compartment (after the holder was removed) and that has a futaba style plug will work. The battery compartment is approx. 120mm x 30mm x 35mm. HK sells several battery packs that are supposed to work in this transmitter. Just use the search function and look for "transmitter pack" or "TX pack". But keep the dimensions in mind as there are also other style transmitter packs that will only work for transmitters which hold the batteries 8 pieces next to each other.

  Hi. I have a problems in control the Support 5 points throttle(THR) and the Support 5 points pitch(PIT. I can not merged into this menu.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
When powering up your TX the display should read "H1". If it does not, please change the model type to heli. If your model is set to "Helicopter Mode", press "UP" and "DN" several times simultaneously until the display reads "CN1" that's the throttle curve. Press "UP" and "DN" simultaneously until the display reads "PN1" that's the pitch curve. Press "UP" or "DN" to change between the five points. Use "INC" or "DEC" to move the selected point up or down on the selected curve.

  Wishes to the manufacturer. The RC equipment is reliable and attractive, but nevertheless it makes sense to expand a ruler at the expense of compatibility increase between let out RC systems. It will give the chance an additional choice and as consequence increase of interest to production of increase in demand. And to us to buyers, flexibility and convenience of operation. I think, all me will support.

  Hi, can I use this only for helicopters, or is it possible to use them for model ships? If so, how do I get through it?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
You can use it for any RC model. If you don't need the helicopter mixing, just switch the transmitter into airplane-mode. In the airplane mode your inputs will result in a direct movement of the servos, without the mixing that is needed for helicopters. How to change the settings in described in great detail in the manual.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
In short, here's how to create a model for airplane mode: Turn off the TX* Hold both left buttons while powering on the TX* Select the model number in menu "S1" that you want to change* Select the option "AP" in menu "S2"* Turn off the TX* Turn on the TX* Now you have the selected model loaded and the TX is in airplane mode.

  Have the receivers for this radio system been discontinued? I do not see them on the HK site any more. I have two HK-8X (V2) recievers in a backorder.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
I was also wondering about this. It seams that HobbyKing removed all the relabeled KDS receivers from this website.
-Reply from gottazz (20 points);
HKing removed the receiver (Rx HK-8x v2) for this Tx (HK-7X 2,4 GHz V2) from the website, they don't have stock, neither the possibility of a back order. I had to cancel two Rx from my last order. Reading all the reviews and discussion my conclusion is that the only Rx compatible with this transmitter is the HK-8X v2. What other alternatives of Rx for this transmitter are available? This is the HKing support answer to this problem: Regarding to your question of whether there is any item that can replace HK8X-RX-V2 , we are sorry that we are not qualified to recommend products to our customer. Please kindly check the review or discussion session for the item on our website, you may find some tips there. Any suggestion?

  Is there ANY realistic estimate when it will be in stock again??

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
To be honest I don't know if it will be in stock at all. HK stopped to sell the receivers a month ago. And they stopped the backorders for these products. Seems like they are going to stop this product, which would be very sad in my opinion as my HK-7X serves me very well.

  How do I know if I have a V2 (version 2) or not? According to HK's billing I have a V2 Tx and a non-V2 Rx (separately bought later after the first Rx did not work and was returned)* but it binds and flies fine. So some product ID must be wrong: what do I have? Where can I see the "thruth" on these things? They all look the same to me.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Don't care about HK's billing. They seam to sometimes print old product names. In my case the invoice said HK-7X although I got the V2 transmitter. Just read what's written on the stickers of the transmitter and the receiver! Both should be labeled the same way, either "V2" or without V2. In the video section I've uploaded a video "Unboxing the HobbyKing HK-7X v2", there you can see closeup shots of both the V2 transmitter and the V2 receiver. As sown there, both of my parts carry the "V2" tag on their stickers. What's written on the stickers of your TX and RX?
-Reply from belgianbuzzer (27 points);
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I assumed that the "names" on the Tx & Rx would give a clue. Now I know: no V2 to be seen anywhere on mine, so I have the 'normal' version. What's the difference anyway between the two? Is the V2 better, newer?
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Yes you're right, no "V2" on the sticker means 'normal' version. In that case you need to get a HK-8X (none V2) receiver in order to bind successfully. I've tries several times to find out the difference between the HK-7X and HK-7Xv2. Unfortunately nobody at HobbyKing's CS seams to know. While the V2 is definitely newer, I don't know if it's also "better" ...

  please, how could i bind with corona CR8D ?

-Reply from Rocky T (37 points);
The same way as the original RX you bind but bind plug is not used.
1.Keep pushing the button behind the TX, and turn the TX on to get into bind mode.
2.Keep pushing the small button behind the RX while you power on the RX.
3.RX flashes twice.
4.Turn off both TX and RX.
5.Turn on both TX and RX.
6.Wait for a few seconds till RX LED stays on.
7.Done.
I could bind both CR8D and CR4D no problem.
-Reply from Twoeggs (22 points);
the LED doesn't come on when the CR8D is powered. And I can't get it to bind with my hk-7x v2. Does that mean my CR8D is defective?

  This radio has no connection to training!
Someone know if is possible to adapt as exists in 6 channels ?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
I'm not sure what you mean by "connection to training":

If you want to use your transmitter for training with a RC simulator, look for a 3.5mm audio-plug port at the bottom. With a matching USB cable you can hook it up to your computer and use it in almost any RC simulator. Unfortunately HobbyKing does not (yet?) sell such kind of cables. Just google for "KDS K-6x simulator cable" *) You'll find plenty of them in different RC stores or on eBay.

If you mean "connection to training" like hooking two for those transmitters together to fly your RC model in "teacher" mode, where the two transmitters share the controls. I have not yet found a way to do that. But as the transmitter does not have a trainer-switch nor any trainer-options in the menu, I'm pretty sure that this is not supported.

  I buy HK7x-M2, now in testing, but when I try binding the receptor led shines twice as slowly, as shown in step 3 of the manual, and continues flashing approximately 1Hz.
Trying several times the binding is completed, but when it gets about 20 meters distant communication is lost, the receiver starts flashing led.
I wonder if there is any recommendation for the use which might be going unnoticed?

No other RX works with this TX! As with all 2.4GHz transmitters only the exact same receiver from the same brand are compatible.   Hey!

The transmitter is powered by eight AA batteries. Or you can even use 8 AA size rechargeable batteries as the transmitter has a charger port. But please note, that a charger is NOT included (check the manual for further information)

If you want to use a battery pack some soldering will be needed. And you'll have to find a very slim pack in order for it to fit into the battery compartment. But basically any battery pack with the same voltage as 8 AA batteries would work.

Here you can find the manual for it
www kdsmodel com/newsDetail.asp?N_ID=387&N_C_ID=169
Note: Put a dot before and after "kdsmodel"

Any servo with a standard JR/Futaba connector will work.

I have the HK7xv2 and I don't see any obvious differences to the HK-7X none V2. The functions visible to the user are the same. I guess they changes details in the software and the communication. That's why the old HK-8X receivers don't bind with the HK-7xXv2 any more. More changes where done in the past when they switched from the HK-6x to HK-7x (link: one more channel, more model memory, more settings, ...)

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Here in Germany google finds several German online stores selling KDS simulator cables. And on ebay_de there are also several sellers. Don't know where you're from, but that's strange that there are no sellers in your region.

All these simulator cables do nothing else than adding your transmitter as a joystick to your windows system. So any flight simulator that supports joystick will work. I know though, that recent RealFlight versions do NOT support joysticks (at least not officially...)

  HI,
Can someone tell me which rechargable battery pack works in this Tx and which charger?
Same for the receiver... what battery pack/charger?
I presume any standard futuba compatible servos work???

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);

Greets!
-Reply from Joao Paiva (44 points);
you are right. it can be used with any servo. I brought this radio recently and i'm complete satisfy with it.

  This transmitter has a 7 model memory. Not 5! I have 3 v2 receivers. They work great with the memory. Wish the price would come down a little bit on the recievers. Almost $30 when the DSM2 one is $15 and the turnigy is $10. Also wish there was more in stock. Pretty good transmitter though. Wish there was flap mixing though and a better more thorough user manual.

-Reply from Lanell (195 points);
I agree its a good transmitter. did you get a manual with it? If not then you can download a copy of the KDSmodel**** one appears to be the same unit. hope this helps.
-Reply from jdlilfan (16 points);
I did get the mini cd with the manual but it doesn't go into much detail in setting dual rates and mixes and what ALL of the codes mean?
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
I've got a mini cd with mine too. The manual on the CD is very detailed! Everything including what the codes mean and also the dual-rates is described in the manual very good (but dual-rates are not that hard to setup up, you just set the dual-rates percentage for aileron, elevator and ruder). BTW: The manual from my CD is the same which you can also download here from the "FILES" tab.

  hi there,
everybody know what for is dual rate setting (DA0,DE0,DR0,DR1,on this TX? thx

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Please read the manual it's described there!

In short:
dA -> Aileron
dE -> Elevator
dR -> Rudder

0 -> DR-switch in position "0"
1 -> DR-switch in position "1"

-Reply from paul (121 points);
i have read manual but still confussing, so that setting using for cyclic servos when moving together and affected swashplate level?
-Reply from paul (121 points);
i done it, i know what is that for now...thanks for your help mate....cheers...
-Reply from shadowind (61 points);
it is on the manual (on cd) ... defaults are if a remember : DA0=100 DA1=70 DE0=100 DE1=70 DR0=100 DR1=70 or inverse ... the radio make a difference between the values ... 0 -> dual rate disabled, 1 -> dual rate enabled, A as ailerons E as elevator ...
-Reply from TONY.ALVES (198 points);
Is to change the travel of each command. You can set it up to make easier to control the aircraft if the full command make it too much responsive.
-Reply from TONY.ALVES (198 points);
Just to set the course of the airplane controls different. Exemple : if you need less rudder just configure the radio settings on less percentage on dual rate mode, then you can change the stick position on your tx and the control ratio will be decreased.You can even change it flying to control your plane easier.
-Reply from Felipeverza (26 points);
DA0 and DA1 - Dual Rate from Aileron DE0 and DE1 - Dual Rate from Elevon Dr0 and Dr1 - Dual Rate from Rudder 0 is the Dual rate in off position 1 is the Dual rate in on position

  The manual states that the transmitter needs 11.6V to make it work like it should.

A Rhino 11.1V LiPo is probably no problem to use in this transmitter as the difference is very small.

But what about rechargeable AA batteries? Can you actually use these? Rechargeables are only 1.2V, making a total of 9.6V for the transmitter to use.

Does aynone know?

I would like to use the "Turnigy AA LSD 2200mah Low Self Discharge (ready to use)" with this transmitter.

-Reply from shadowind (61 points);
I use AA Ni-MH batteries and voltage is between 10 and 11 V ... it works very well ! they are 1.2V ... but the radio gives 1V less than precise measuring on mine.
-Reply from robertocasper (51 points);
I am using AA batteries. Power meter reads more than 10V on display of HK 7x when fully charged. Put bat. alarm setting of hk7x on 9V. No problems. So AA rechargeable batteries work fine in this transmitter.

  Can I use my HK-7X for a simulator like FMS or HeliSimRC?
If yes, what cable do I need for this?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Phoenix RC sim already comes with a matching cable. For other simulators you'll need to get a simulator cable for the "KDS K-6X" or the "KDS K-7X" transmitter. Unfortunately HK does not offer such a cable. But you can get it from eBay or an other shop.

BTW: Don't forget to set the transmitter to PPM mode otherwise it will not work!

-Reply from Jolly Jumper (43 points);
Would you have a link to a picture of the jack attached to the USB cable? On eBay, most cables are made for brands like JR/$pektrum, Futaba, ESky, etc.
Not one of them mentions anything about KDS.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Hmm, I've found several here on ebay.de:
For instance Article number: 350287157418
Just enter the article number into the ebay's search field. That should lead you directly to it.
Don't know if there are sellers from your country.

The simulator cord must have a 3.5mm mono audio plug.

Tested and working. You need the following software: 1) PPJoy from http://shareware.pcmag.com/free/Miscellaneous-Utilities/PPJoy/75176.html 2) T6sim from http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13067693&postcount=1938 3) t6config program from: http://www.flysky-cn.com/pic/down/FS-CT6ADriver.rar (do not use the driver included with this download, but use the one below) 4) USB cable driver from https://www.silabs.com/Support Documents/Software/CP210x_VCP_Win2K_XP_S2K3.zip When using the simulator, you must have t6sim running so as to config the usb port to accept the joystick.   I have a serious problem, I will appreciate any help.
After binding the receiver and connecting everything properly, I move the throttle stik and the motor starts to vibrate without rotating, I tried 3 different motors and two different batteries but the same, tried to change all the setting from the rx but the same, I tried to change my ESC to hard timing and soft timing. The same!!!!
My current setup is
2200MAH 20C, otter 40A esc, Turingy 1500 kv. The mode on the transmitter is for delta wing plane.
Please help. Is it because of my remote control or esc?

  Hi Anybody, I got some trouble to connect this remote to the Fly mentor 3d stabilisation system. Thank's

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
What exactly did you set to 0? The swash mixing? The "PA", "PE" and "PP" settings? If this is what you did, that was wrong as flymentor needs the mixing to be disabled. By setting the values to zero, the mixer is still enabled but using 0 mixing. Resulting in the servos not moving. The flymentor does not need the transmitter to do the CCPM mixing, as it is all done my the flymentor. To turn off the CCPM mixing: go into the system settings and change the "S2" setting to "HP1". This will turn of

I have the HK-7Xv2 and binding has never been a problem. Try this: Turn everything off (TX & RX). Insert Bind-Plug into RX. Now connect the RX to ESC. Hold Bind-Button on TX. Power on TX. Keep holding the Bind-Button. Wait for the flashing light of the RX to change. Release the Bind-Button. That's it!!! If yours wont bind with the procedure you might have a defect TX or RX.

  How do you re-set to factory default. I have messed up the settings.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
There is no factory reset, as there are not predefined settings. Just go through all the settings (which aren't that much anyway) and set them to the correct value. Note that the correct values always depend on your model, hardware and setup. So a factory reset would not help you as you would need to setup everything for your model in any case.

You can find the matching receiver for this transmitter in the "Related Products" section. Or just use the "Search" field on the left. The only receiver compartible with this HK-7X v2 transmitter is the Hobby King HK-8X V2. The easiest way to find the item is by entering "HK8X-RX-V2" into the search field to the left.

Do I have to start using obscene language or refer to their mother in some awful manner to get their attention?

Thank you.

No you don't *-) the reason that your not getting any replies is that no one that has that info has read our post* that said, there is a manual for download. Just go the the TX sales page if your not there already and click on the FILES TAB, within you will see the same manual that everyone else has, we all assume that you have read that manual and that you want more information. We don't reply because we don't have test reports, I would suggest that you google for it. Sorry, for not given you the answer that you deserve.

  I decided to try my brand new Tx on a simulator and while I was doing the calibration it stopped working... when I tried to re-attach the cable something broke: the plug receptacle just fell off and was rattling inside the case... I opened it and re-soldered it in place and added a dab of epoxi to hold it in place because there's nothing to hold it but the three solder points... so be VERY, VERY careful when using it with the cable... broken plug

-Reply from spsolway (14 points);
Hi, you mention HK-7c but this is a HK-7X. On the HK-7X the swash mix is the ninth item on the Heli menu i.e. with a the Heli model selected, press the Up & Dn buttons at same time, 9 times. The other alternative is to use the reverse menu and reverse the two channels which control roll on your swash (usually aileron & pitch). Hope this helps.
-Reply from heliquest (27 points);
Be aware that if you put the Transmitter too close to the receiver (~1m) then the receibver might behave oddly. I found that having the TX & RX 1m away from each other made it work properly. Any closer and sometimes the servos would stop, go backwards etc.

Can the 7 ch V2 be used as a buddy box for training and what other HK or any raio will it work with, what cable

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
The HK-7X does not have a trainer switch, so you can not use it as the master(=transmitter) device. It's possible to change the settings so that the HK-7X does not actually transmit on 2.4GHz but emit a PPM signal via the 3.5mm port on the lower right side. So if you have an other transmitter which has the trainer-student capability, you might be able to hook the HK-7X as a student device in PPM mode. But this mainly depends on the fact if that other master transmitter is capable of using a PPM
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
ups, HK cut off my post. Here's the rest: But this mainly depends on the fact if that other master transmitter is capable of using a PPM device as student box. You should have got a manual with the radio. It's described there in great detail!   ok, well I finally got the hk7x v2. I dont understand it at all, the manual, (which I had to download from this site cause it didnt even come with one), is very unclear, it may as well be written in chinese cause i dont understand a darn word in it. I am getting mixing thru 3 different channels and they all move differently when multiple buttons are pushed or switches are thrown. I am ready to throw it to the dumpster. The book said when u turn it on...press and hold up&dn and this will display the settings menu "s1-2-3-4" and it dont. it reads things that arent in the manual. also it dont explain how to bind without an esc. I DONT FLY ELECTRIC! I FLY NITRO and DONT HAVE AN ESC!!!! how the *&&%^%#^^%$$*%^&$$*&^(*&^%$^* are you to bush the blind plug into the slot and the power from the battery pack into the same slot at the S A M E T I M E???? I havent flown for a few years and got back into it and thought this would be a good starter 2.4 inexpensive tx/rx for me to start out with and its only been a headache since the very moment I placed the order. WHY CANT THINGS BE SIMPLE LIKE BEFORE, TURN IT ON, IT WORKS.

-Reply from TrevorK (10 points);
Hi Craig. Hopefully it's beginning to come to you a bit now... Although a bit intimidating at first, it's really quite easy to use if you take some time to go through the manual methodically. The manual covers everything quite clearly though it expects you to have a prior understanding of the hobby. Take some time to try understand it before smashing it, because I bet that most people who have this product and have bothered to explore its capabilities will tell you that it is a superb transmitter for the price!
-Reply from mikec@aloha.net (357 points);
learn to connect the servos to your receiver. then learn to bind the receiver with your radio. i wanted to fly. just flew a basic 3 channel plane. now i can fly better after learning basics. don't throw this radio away. it has tremendous range. i fly my glider sometimes into the clouds and have never lost connection. good radio, so don't throw it away.

In short: To change the mode, hold both of the left buttons while turning on the radio. Select the model in menu "S1", step over to menu "S2" and change the mode to "AP"(aero), "DP"(delta-wing) or "VP"(v-tail). Turn radio off to save the settings.

  what reciever can i use?i need one.

-Reply from otavianodjales (25 points);
Hi, For a HK-7x v2, you can use Corona 2.4Ghz 8ch Receiver (V2 DSSS). It is compatible, and work fine.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Sorry to say, but you can NOT bind a Corona Receiver with the HK-7x v2. Binding Corona receivers to HK transmitters only worked with the old HK-6x transmitter. For a compartible reveiver, just take a look into the "Related Products" secion above. You can find the HK 8X v2 receiver there.
-Reply from Bill (11 points);
I have this same HK-7X mode 2 and the SKU# HK8X-RX is the matching receiver.
-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);

-Reply from bruno (22 points);

-Reply from ERAY (6 points);
You can youse 8ch hobbyking receiver.
-Reply from Bill (11 points);
Make sure to check the fine print and make very sure as to if you have a V1 or a V2 transmitter. It is easy to make a mistake here. The new, current HK-7X is a V2 and will only work with the out-of-stock HK-8X version 2 receiver. Only way to get the V2 receiver is to buy one with the transmitter.
-Reply from kevin bagwell (70 points);
HK-8xV2 only, DO NOT use hk-8x or 8r or any other, these are proprietary systems that have to be matched with the proper receivers.

  whats the range of the antenna?? it looks soo small

-Reply from Koarl (14 points);
All 2,4Ghz tx have this small antenna! The range is enough for gliders!
-Reply from scoutcustom (1 points);
Most of the 2.4 Ghz radios is about 3000 ft.
Just make sure you don't put your antennas near anything metal,carbon fiber or electric
-Reply from xboelkiex (42 points);
no its normal,it looks like,but it isnt. Normal 2,4GHz Antenna. enjoy
-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);
Like all 2.4GHz sets the antenna looks small but it has a usable range of up to about 1.5k's or if you are flying anything under 1m wingspan when you can really see the plane anymore :P
-Reply from otavianodjales (25 points);
Hi, in my radio, already got more than 1,5 kilometers... this is a good range.. i think..but depending size of your plane, you can't see the plane.
-Reply from Bill (11 points);
The 2.4Ghz systems do not need a big antenna. The higher the frequency, the smaller the antenna. A good 2.4Ghz system will have the same range as other lower frequency (27mhz or 72mhz) system that need long antennas. Remember to respect line of sight, if something blocks your view of the plane, it will probably block the signal too. Do a max range check test before flying at your field.

  Hi all I have one of these radio's and i broke off the tip and the wire for the tip off the arial will this make a diff and if so where can i get a new one?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
This depends on how much of the antenna you broke off. 1cm or 2cm should not really have a notable effect. If you broke off half of your antenna you will get a notable shorter range. I do not know of an replacement antenna. Hobbyking sells several 2.4GHz antenna with attached wires. With a bit of soldering and modding you transmitter case you should be able to use those.
-Reply from boingk (287 points);
Agreed - I'd buy another 2.4ghz antenna and solder it to the wires coming out of your case. Simply epoxy the new antenna onto the case to replace the old one.
-Reply from worsone (62 points);
Hi i think my explanation is wrong i broke off the bit that move`s and the wire cant be soldered it has a plastic tube in it.
-Reply from Barney_5 (103 points);
the black plastic part that broke off is just a casing for the actual antenna which is the wire that is probably intact, you might try just securing it to the plastic part of the tx housing and doing a intensive range test it may still be usable

  Hi all i just want to know if i can use a turnigy 20-30c 2200mah 2 cell 7.4v li-po as a bat pac for this radio?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No, a 2 cell LiPo provides too less voltage. If want to use a LiPo you must use a 3 cell. But I would recommend to just get 8 AA NiMh batteries. The provide enough run-time. And due to the detatchable battery tray are very easy to charge too.
-Reply from Barney_5 (103 points);
you can use a 2 cell lipo down to around 6v if you dont mind the beep beep beep of the low batt warning going all the time, if you do be very careful not to reverse the polarity when you plug in the batt pack that can /will be a fatal error if you do a slightly discharged 3 cell works fine too 8 AA's = 12v fully charged 3 cell = 12.6v also when using AA nmh batts you can use the charging plug on the TX with a 9 - 12 v power supply
-Reply from h2ojoao (27 points);

  hi all i just want to know does this radio support flaperons and endpiont adj if so where do i go to get to these settings? the man does not help me?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Flaperons are not possible because the radio does not support custom mixing. For airplanes the radio only supports deta-wing and V-Tail mixing. But you can do normal flaps via channel seven. Endpoint adjustment can be done for each channel. It is described in the manual in detail. In short, press the two left buttons at the same time so often until you reach the end-point setting. Then press the left up or down to find the channel you want to adjust. Use the right buttons to increase or decrease

-Reply from Jason (7 points);
The difference is which stick controls the motor speed. Mode 1 has the motor speed on the right, Mode 2 has the motor speed on the left.
-Reply from Bill (11 points);
Mode 2 has throttle stick on left side, as used in Noth America. System setting S3 seems to allow setting for left or right hand option. Mode 1 puts throttle on right side. (European setup?)

mode 1 throttle stick is on the right side, mode 2 is the opposite

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Yes this TX works great with simulators. On the bottom of the TX you find a small hole, it's actually a 3.5mm mono audio port. With a matching cable (3.5mm audio plug on one side, USB connector on the other) you can connect your TX to the computer. HK sells these cables, just use the search function on the left and look for "simulator cable". Then you need to activate the simulator mode in your TX, which is described at the end of the manual in the chapter "Using PPM signal".

  hi,how far can my rc plane goes with this tx and rx?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Nobody can ever really say this for sure. It depends very much on the situation at your flying location (e.g. signal interference, obstacles, and so on). I've successfully flown my large F22 with this TX and RX as far as I could see it, which i guess was around two to three hundred meters. As long as I could see my model I have never noticed any jitter or connection breakdowns. I do not know about FPV though, when you try to fly more than a few hundred meters away.
-Reply from mucip999 (8 points);
if its just 200 or 300 meter.it is better to buy hk 4 channel because i just use 4 channel only.would you recommend any cheap tx&rx for FPV?
-Reply from asdrubold (16 points);
I recommend no more far than 500m if you stay on clear field. in more urbanized places or if have a lot of eletric installations, i will recommend do not pass 200m. Please, if was satsfactory, credit my answer. thanks
-Reply from flyzmilez (41 points);
i have used it up too a kilometer away with no problems so i would think maybe 2km if you are in a clear area.
-Reply from mucip999 (8 points);
2km?how?
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
I used it only up to 300meters because after that I was hardly able to see my plane with the naked eye. This does not mean that the radio can't be used for further distances! I was just ment to say, that you don't have any problem as long as you fly within your range of view. Flying farer away would only be possible with an FPV setup. Otherwise you wont be able to see and controll youe plane. Flying away 2km might be possible (depending on the location, obstacles and interferences) although I would not risk it.
-Reply from mucip999 (8 points);
i want to use this for FPV
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
You definitely wont risk you expensive FPV gear to a cheap radio. You need a rock solid radio system for FPV. What might be an option is the FrSky radio module, which received only the best reviews. You need a module based transmitter for it or you can use the DIY kit to convert almost any receiver to a FrSky 2.4GHz system. The Turnigy 9x transmitter might be a good choice. Both the FrSky system and the Turnigy 9X can be purchased here at HobbyKing. For reviews and tests about the FrSky 2.4GHz system and the Turnigy 9x transmitter you can find a lot of info on the website and the youtube channel of "rcmodelreviews".
-Reply from mucip999 (8 points);
thank you very much! and if i use turnigy 9x with diy frsky. how far can i fly?
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Sorry, neither do I own the Turnigy 9x nor the FrSky. And I do not fly FPV. But you might find better information in the rcmodelreviews forum. Maybe you could try to ask your question there.

  I received my transmiter #HK-7X v2. It didn't include a manual, but I downloaded one from the file site.

After I was able to bind receiver I found that all the controls work properly but the throttle control doesn't work. I tried to go into the throttle hold setting to see if it was not adjusted properly. The manal states that the up anmd down buttons need to be pressed seven times but after only six times the setting menu starts over again at the first setting window. I therefore cannot adjust the Gyro sensitivity or the Throttle curve, Pitc Curve, and Signal Curve.

Is the manual on file the wrong one???

How do I get the motor to respond to the thottle joy stick???

-Reply from heliquest (27 points);
Some of the settings require you to switch off, hold the buttons down while you switch on again - e.g. Model Type menu etc.
-Reply from Sal (3 points);
I've already done that. That isn't the problem. It seems as if the throttle hold switch is keeping the motor from starting but I've tried it with the switch in both positions without success.

Or can someone recommend a compatible reciver for HK-7X 2.4Ghz 7ch w/ 5 Model Memory TX transmitter please?

No other receiver is compatible. But the manufacturer of this radio is KDS. KDS sold this transmitter under name KDS K-7X. -Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
The range of this transmitter is much larger then you can see your model. This means you will loose visual contact to your plane long before the transmitter looses contact to your airplane. I've successfully flowen my large F-22 Raptor up to approx. 300 meter away without any problem. In theory the range will be up to 1km and more (but depends very much on the geographical characteristics of your flying area)

  Hey guys! Does anyone know how to enter head-hold(head/lock) mode on this transmitter??

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Enter the Gyro Senitivity Adjusting menu and change the setting "G1" and "G2" to a value above zero. Any value above zero will bring your gyro in head holding mode. Any value below zero sets the gyro to rate mode. G1 is the setting that will be used when the IDLE switch is OFF. G2 is the setting that will be used when the IDLE switch is ON.
-Reply from Christian J (1 points);
I have the value of G1=0 and G2=67, when in normal mode my gyro LED in ON indicating that it is in head-lock, and when in idle mode, gyro LED is OFF as if it where in non-head lock mode. I'm using a Detrum GY48V gyro... Any suggestions on why it seems to be reversed?
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
Maybe you reversed your gain channel in your transmitter settings? Or: I dont know your gyro, but maybe it operates different from other brands. Try to set G1 and G2 to the same positive value and check what your gyro does. Maybe that way you can find out how your gyro interprets the signal from the TX.

No. Almost any 2.4GHz system producer use their own encoding schema how they transmit data between TX and RX. Which they obviously keep secret from their competitors. That's why you can only use receivers from the same vendor.

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
If the swash moves in the wrong direction you've done something wrong during the CCPM setup. This process is quit complicated to describe here. But there are a lot of good videos on the net. You can google for "finless bob CCPM setup". What I suspect is, that you need to reverse the swash-mix for pitch. Go to the corresponding setting in your transmitter and change the value from positive to negative. That should reverse the pitch movement.

  can someone tell me what battery fits the RX thankyou

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
This transmitter needs 8 AA batteries. It comes with a separate battery holder that takes the batteries in a 4x4 configuration.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
There also exists the possibility to use a LiPo instead of the battery holder. The battery compartment is approx. 120mm x 30mm x 35mm. Make sure your LiPo fits in. The battery holder connects to the transmitter via a futaba-style plug. So it would be best if your LiPo comes with such a futaba-style plug. HK sells several LiPos that would fit in the battery compartment. Use the search function to the left and search for either "transmitter pack", "transmitter lipo" or "TX pack". But keep the battery compartment size in mind as there are also different size transmitter LiPos.
-Reply from wasantha (12 points);
if u use 8*AA batteries they lost rapidly so takeout batt case put in PRODUCT ID: T2650.3S.1C ternigy from HK and enjoy with ur HK 7x. Iam using this batt and great choice very happy
-Reply from begginer4ever (8 points);
Every body wants you to put a battery pack in your Tx. You want a Rx battery per your question. Get any Futaba, JR, or most any other brand Rx battery pack. You can also use 3 AA batteries to give you 4.5 volts which will power your Rx if you don't have a BEC. Batteries need to be wired in series. to - to on top. - to to - on bottom then to your Rx plug. 3 - 1 and 1/2 volt batteries in series will give you 4 1/2 volts. Series, not parallel. Parallel would be to to , - to - to - to -. Series adds the battery voltages to give you ample power for servos, 4 1/2. Parallel just gives you longer lasting 1 1/2 voltage. Hope this helps. If you have a Radio Shack they sell battery holders for this purpose. For that matter, most cordless phones have a battery pack in the hand set that will work. All you need to do is wire it to your plug. Don't cross and - or you will fry your Rx.

  Two questions really. Is there a manual out there somewhere for mode 2 (v2)? The manual in 'files' is for mode 1. Not a big deal but it would be easier. Second: Will this transmitter support a simulator program through the jack in the bottom?

-Reply from wasantha (12 points);
Q1 no diferance only thro in left or right Q2 yes supported by a mono jack im also using
-Reply from Tuna Suer (16 points);
First, the manual in "files" which is name "HK-7X Manual.pdf" isn't made for mode 1. There's no difference for mode-1 & mode-2 on the manual...

Second, maybe u can use it for simulator but it's not so useful. Because the transmitter can just connecting with a sound jack which means u have to use many programs for using it on a simulator.(PPjoy etc.) Also it's working delay and the transmitter will finish the batteries so quickly if u don't attach an adaptor to it...

Simply, buy a simulator transmitter which is attached to PC with USB adapter...

  Yes I used a newby handle but have been in the sport since the time of the Cricket. No gyro, fixed pitch. Sooo, I've been working with this transmitter and receiver and went to bind a new receiver to the transmitter for a new heli I built. The new receiver would not bind (yes it's the right one, they came back in stock a short time ago) but worse yet , now the old receiver does not work anymore. Any ideas? Any one? I have had to fix the OUT jack for a simulator but that was a easy solder job. This new issue is separate from that as the Tx/Rx were working in my HK 450 Pro till today. Any guesses as to what is wrong?? I've tried to re-bind the original Rx to the Tx, No Go. I've tried repeatedly to bind the 2 new receivers, No Go! Damn I don't want to buy a new Futaba radio. (Actually, I do, wife doesn't)but I need reliability. Any one else have this problem and fix or am I on my own with this one?

-Reply from wasantha (12 points);
frequency may be changed ? try to change frequency as in manual and rebind.this is a guesses
-Reply from begginer4ever (8 points);
I GOT THE ORIGINAL TO WORK AGAIN AND AM GOING TO TRY THE SAME METHOD TO THE SECOND Rx TODAY.
WHAT WORKED WAS TO PROGRAM THE ESC/BEC THEN POWER THE Rx THROUGH THE ESC/BEC. FOR SOME REASON USEING THE Rx POWER PACK DID NOT WORK BUT AFTER PROGRAMMING THE ESC/BEC AND POWERING THE Rx THROUGH THE ESC MADE IT BIND.
I AM USING A TURNIGY PLUSH 40 TO PROVIDE POWER. THE MANUEL SAYS NOTHING ABOUT GOING THROUGH A BEC BUT THAT WAS WHAT WORKED. ?????? GO FIGURE!
Thank you for your input.
I feel like I need to post this info for others to try. I hope others get positive results as well.
-Reply from wasantha (12 points);
thanks for ur new experience. Iam also waiting for my 2nd RX.Tell me what happened to ur 2nd RX, bind well?
-Reply from begginer4ever (8 points);
Ok, success with number two and three. The procedure is much like explained in the manual from the "files" page. I was trying to do it with the Rx power pack, not the BEC/ESC. I also found that I had to put the ESC into channel 3 which is the throttle channel on this system. It also took longer than a half second as the manual says but, all in all, follow the manual instructions. The failure was my mistake. What finally made them work was using the ESC/BEC already programmed using a program card. Then it all went like instructed. I think what confused me was the power and bind plug are the same. Using the programmed BEC plugged into the throttle slot and the bind in the power/bind slot makes it bind properly. Good luck with yours. One thing I have also discovered is some bleed from the throttle channel to the rudder channel. That is fixed by having the Tx and Rx farther apart. Bottom line, the translation and wording coupled with many missing letters and some missing words in the manual make you have to guess on occasion and I guessed wrong. Use the BEC, power through the throttle channel and follow the instructions and GOOD LUCK!!

  I missed the bind step when using mine at first. Now the channels are mixing working all together. The manual doesn't say any thing about. Please, somebody can teach me how to fix it?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
What do you want to achieve? Fly a plane or a heli? If all channels are working together it's most likely in helicopter mode! But that has nothing to do with binding. Consult your manual on how to setup the selected model to the right mode (can be done in the "settings menu" under S2 )

Thanks indeed!!!!!!!! You are right! Rgs from Brazil

  How do I switch the mode to aero mode from heli?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
It's described in the manual in great detail. In short: Enter the system menu by pressing and holding UP and DN while turning the TX on. In menu S1 select the model you want to change. Scroll down to the S2 menu. In the S2 menu you can then select the modeltype (heli, airplane, deltawing, or v-tail)

  I have been having problems with this. sometimes the transmitter quits transmitting the throttle channel. Why would that be?

-Reply from Will Swain (17 points);
Check inside the TX, some cable might have come loose? Also check inside the RX if possible to see if any wires have done the same

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
I don't think it will in stock ever again. It's been on backorder for several month now. The same thing with the receivers, they are gone completely. I guess HK lost or discontinued their deal with KDS (which was the manufacturer of these radios)

  This radio will be capable to do all the mixing required for correct operation of Eletricfly-VFO?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
For airplanes this radio only supports Delta-Wing and V-Tail mixing. No custom mixing is possible.

  will this work with the syma s107 if I solder it on?

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No that would not be possible! The Syma uses a all-in-one receiver/control board. That board does all the mixing. By-passing the control board would make the heli un-flyable. And you can't just wire the HK-7X receiver to the control board as all the receiving/mixing/outputting is done internally on the control board.

  Is this transmiter compatible with the Hobby King orange reciever?

Thanks

-Reply from acromaster.1 (10 points);
no it isn´*t

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No, no other receivers are. As 2.4GHZ is a digitally encoded transmission only the receivers from the same brand are compatible. The only exception are those orange RX receivers. Although they are not from $pektrum they are compartible with $pektrum radios. But other than that, you can always say that no 2.4GHz RX and TX of different brands are compartible.

3/28/2012
  What kind of RX are compatible with this TX then?

Thanks

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
As with all 2.4GHz transmitters only the exact same receiver from the same brand are compatible. The item description lists them regarding which version of this radio you have: Only HK-8X receiver is comptible with HK-7X transmitter. Only HK-8R receiver is compatible with the HK-6X transmitter. Only HK-8Xv2 receiver is compatible with the HK-7Xv2 transmitter.

  Hi all, Newbie question: I just received my 2.4Ghz SuperMicro Receiver, ESC and 2 xServos All-in-one (5ch). Now I am searching the best TX system for it. Would this receiver be compatible with the HK-7X 2.4Ghz 7ch transmitter? Thank you! Best regards, Tibor

-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No, only HK-8Xv2 receiver is compatible with the HK-7Xv2 transmitter. In general for all the 2.4GHz systems out there, only the receivers from the same brand are compatible.
-Reply from Tiberiu (1 points);
Thanks for the answer! Still, which tx do I need for the SuperMicro Receiver?

-Reply from 450ppt (196 points);
Yes, buy it on back order.
-Reply from r_g_r (1335 points);
No it will most likely not come back in stock. KDS (which is the manufacturer of this radio gear) stopped selling it. So HK will not get any supplies. Waiting for this to come back in stock will not work. Better buy a different radio like e.g. the Turnigy 9X.
