The Zlin-42 is a Czech built tandem seat trainer that is used for VFR training, basic instrument training and also as a glider tug, the type also saw service with former Eastern Bloc airforces as a trainer. The Zlin-42 was also used as a basic aerobatic trainer and even saw some combat in Sri Lanka!

The Junkers JU-52, or "Iron Annie" as it was nicknamed was originally developed as an Airliner and transport and served in Germany from 1932 until 1945, unsuprisingly, it was pushed into military service and was even used as a medium bomber for a short period. So succesful was the JU-52 that licence built version''s were still being used as a civil and military carrier right up to the 1980''s. The PT-19 was purchased as a low wing trainer for the USAF after it had been recognised that bi-planes such as the PT-17 Stearman were too "easy" and a more challenging Preliminary Trainer was required that was more in line with modern mono-wing aircraft of the era in terms of wing loading.

The B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the most famous bombers of WW2, although it served in every theatre, it was the ETO in particular that this sturdy and well armed heavy bomber made its name, operating with the USAF 8th Bomber Group from UK airfields.

The Flying Fortress name came from its heavy defensive capability, the B-17 was bristling with defensive 0.50 caliber machine guns, and it won much affection from its crews due to its ability to soak up heavy battle damage and still get crews home.

This superb Yak 54 is a beautifully designed, built and covered ultra-light aerobatic model that any pilot would be proud to own, good looks aside, this is a balsa high performance 3D plane at an amazing price!

The "30" class is a great size as they are offer ease of transport and are inexpensive to build yet fly like a large model. On the 7th September 1953, legendary WW2 Fighter ace, Neville Duke flew a specially prepared bright red Hawker Hunter to a new world air speed record of 727.63mph, Duke was awarded the OBE for his work as Hawkers chief test pilot and for his contribution to the development of supersonic flight, a very risky business back in the 1950''s! The bright red Hunter became a favourite at UK air shows where Duke would fly the Hunter to supersonic speed, thrilling crowds with sonic booms before such things were deemed a nuisance and were resigned to a by-gone era!
