i was saying i got credit they gave me the $1.39 difference between this lipo and the one i found elsewere.lol but they wont let me say where they are less or i get blocked sorry. but it has a aluminum plate on both sides to prevent punctures though i think it also helps dissapate all the heat and therefore less puffing problems but price war works sort of. not

It comes with a Male JST connector. I like to take them off and soder on Deans connectors to all my batteries.

Is the connector on this battery male or female?
 Gary 3059 points
It comes with a JST male connector.

Can I squeeze this pack to around 54mm length? I'm looking to fit this in a very restricted battery slot.
 TechnoFinder 126 points
opps not a very gud idea
obooth  6 points - 9/8/2011

Hi guys, I'm trying to charge this battery with my Accucell 6, at 500mAh, 11.1v, with balance lead in, but it's only reading it as 2 cell, when it clearly states it's a 3 on the pack. Any ideas?
 Nicholas 5 points
if the battery is really drained and really dead, that it will show this

 helicopterfixer 34 points
Make sure your charger is set correctly...lipo, 3 cell, 11.1 volts, .5 amps.
 obooth 6 points
Yes, I double checked this. Ended up charging it in NiMh mode to a level that the LiPo mode could recognise all 3 cells again, and charged it normally. Cell number 2 however loses .2 volts every 24 hours, whilst cells 1 and 3 lose .01 volts in the same period. warranty claims team are looking into it :)
 Sergio.Pereira 9 points
This usually means that you have one "DEAD" cell. The "DEAD" cell is probably with a voltage of less then 3V. Use the NIMH (charging at 0.5A) option to charge the pack until is reaches 9V.. After that you can balance it as as Lipo Again. The charger should recognize the 3 cells now.
Nicholas  5 points - 9/8/2011

what is the charge rate rate for a normal cell balancing cycle?
 merlind 15 points
You depend on the loader's current
 helicopterfixer 34 points
.5 amps {500mAh}, 3 cells, 11.1 volts. Should take around 45 minutes for a depleted pack to charge.
 Spider_2004 37 points
This pack can be charged at 2C, so its 1 amp charge current !
 dantheflyingman 83 points
7 amps will work well for faster *credit awnsers*
 Scott 10 points
Even if it states that it can charge at 2C you will get a longer total life from it if you charge at a lower rate (like 1C) whenever possible. Balancing always takes longer than a standard charge but is better for your batteries.
 AvistarAddict 27 points
7 amps would be a 14C charge rate and completely unsafe. dantheflyingman should know better, or not offer advice.
Nicholas  5 points - 9/4/2011

do these come charged...?
 Billy 2 points
The 4 I recieved came charged to a "storage" capacity ....3.7v per cell. Most of the batteries I have recieved from HK and elsewhere have had a nominal storage charge.

how long does the battery last
 kaptain_zero 10 points
Unfortunatly, only you can tell. It all depends on how much amperage you draw with your setup. The battery will supply 500 mAh or 1/2 amp for one hour. If your setup draws 2 amps, it will last about 15 minutes. If your motor draws 10 amps, the battery will supply about 3 minutes worth of power at that rate. It's not an exact thing... Batteries will vary in how much power they can supply depending one the amount required. I hope this answers your question. Regards Christian
 funflying 81 points
(Battery mAh / 1000) x 60 / amp draw = time in minutes this should help
 AlexARF 77 points
On this battery with the speed control on the 18A, I have a flight lasted 4-5 min. If half the speed to fly, it will be enough for 7-8 min.
 Thibaut 5 points
The battery life depends of the motor, speed controller and propeller that you use and evidently the weight of your model.
 ghostscript 45 points
Hi,
your Question is confusing. are u asking about the life of the battery or the usage of battery per charge?
Life of battery depends on how you use and how you charge the battery. Deep discharge and over charging will lower the life of battery.
per charge life depends on where u r using the battery and how much u r pulling the current out of battery per hr. more amp use=less the time of battery per charge. 11.1 v battery ment for tx can last for one month.
 MrRCFlyyer 744 points
Hi,This AWESOME Battery you ask, lasts for about 7-15 minutes(TESTED BY ME)depending on your throttle management, for example,if you run full gas(Throttle) then you will likely be able to discharge the battery quickly, likewise to the opposite.Sometimes though it depends on how much you're drawing from the battery ,I recommend not more then 15 amps for this battery.
Regards,
MrRCFlyyer
 Imprez 16 points
i am using it in my transmiter, so i can't tell you exactly the flying time. It depends of the motor and prop, of course. I can fly 3 times at day 5 min during 3 weeks.

Can i charge this lipo using Turnigy 2S 3S Balance Charger (Output:650mA)?
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbykin
g/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8247
 germansteve 59 points
Yes,no probs. The output basically controls how long it takes to charge.
 KaosKane 1442 points
short answer Yes Lolng answer Yes for sure
 AdrenaCo 136 points
Yes this battery can be charged with up to 2C rate i.e. 1000Mah max.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 Kai 2 points
Yes, max. charge rate is 2C = 1000mA, so you are good to go. Staying below max. charge rate helps to increase battery life.
 Evertton Castro 72 points
No. It'll charge up 1c. not recommend for this battery. You can uses a Accucell 6 and set to charge at 300mAh or 400mAh.
 Elektroquirl++ 264 points
you can, but it's not safe. there are lipos, that can be charged at a 2c rate and more, but this one shouldn't. 1c, i.e 500ma is the safety limit.
 ministeve2003 439 points
yes, it should work fine

Hope that helps
SK
 guildy93 138 points
Yes, you can =). This battery can be charge at 2c, witch means you can charge this battery at the max charge rate of 1A without further problems.
 WeKkY 60 points
Yes ! With absolutely no problem ! And you can charge any 2S 3S battery ! Just consider this : Time of charge will change in function of the battery capacity with your charger.
 Noggin 46 points
Yes, should be ok
 Bjarne K 99 points
yes but your battery will not last as long best to charge this with 500mah i think Bjarne.
 helivader 76 points
yes, you certainly can
 David 12 points
yes, you require 500mA, the charger does 650 per cell i.e 1950 mA in total
 ughsky 78 points
Yes, you can! Charging will take less than 1 hour.
 dido41987 75 points
Yes, you can. The battery supports a maximum of 1000mA charge
 taildragger1951 10 points
The charger reads the max capacity of the battery and stops at that point. Safe charging specs call for up to 1.5 X the rated mah capacity. i.e. your 500mah battery can be charged at 750mah.
 Nicholas 27 points
Yes, that charge should work just fine.
 Imprez 16 points
and why not?

have been fighting with a plane with no power turns out I got 4 of these batterys in sept and it turns out that 3 of them seem to not have any power they can only pull 6 amps for a few seconds then they start losing speed I have 2 older batterys and they go 6 amps for a couple minutes before fading I just recharged the 3 batterys (started at about 3.6 v/cell ) one only took 79 mh the other were about 180. I never knew about the register the warrenty sticker so what do I do, I will cycle them a bit but don't have much hope.
 AvistarAddict 27 points
Just try cycling them and hope it fixes them. Otherwise, just grab a couple new ones, it's not like they're expensive.
 chmel 1 points
Recently received 2 of these. Work well. I'm happy.
 Nicholas 27 points
I would run them down to cutoff and change them very slowly and always make sure to balance charge and if the pack is swollen make sure to properly dispose of it and get a new battery.
 Imprez 16 points
you'll probably damaged the lipos.
 frogs 164 points
Storing lipos at 3.6 volts per cell kills them pretty quickly as they do not like being discharged below 3.7 volts per cell and keeping them under that value just worsens the problem.

Could someone give me the exact dimensions of this battery, in particular the thickness: Is it 14mm or 16mm or something else? The spec gives both values and I have measured 13.6mm in the battery slot on my heli! Thanks, GF
 chmel 1 points
This 15x60x39mm
 nerdbot 42 points
15 X 31 X 58 MM
 wazza 34 points
Hi, measured with calipers the battery is 16mm at the thickest spot but can be squeezed gently to 15mm. The height is 31mm excluding the wire exit and 60mm long excluding the wire exit. Cheers Wazza.

Why is this listed as 50g but when I put 2 in the cart it comes up as 190g?
 Dave W 118 points
battery weight is approximately 51g but the shipping weight including protective packaging totals 95g each.
 Majksner 22 points
Protective packaging almost heavier than the battery, i think that this isn't right, shipping cost more than battery so this isn't cheap at all!

This would work great in a small 3d plane

3 thumbs up!
We love these LIPO batteries. They are great for flying the small 4-Channel 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D helicopter.

We would recommend the Turnigy Brand as it stands for great value without compromising quality.
