Can i use this transmitter with my vrc simulator
 Michael 20 points
Yup. Via jack-jack or usb interface it should work.
 v_max 442 points
Yes, if you need cable, here it is "Turnigy USB Simulator Lead for Turnigy GTX3 Transmitter - VRC Sim Compatible (ID: GT-USB-SIM)
 v_max 442 points
Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, this cable work not only for Turnigy GTX3, but for 6X and 9X as well.

Modified my 9X radio to add a full size joystick for ail, elv, rud control with stick. Been wanting to try this for a while. Used a Logitech joystick. Have switch mounted to use radio gimbals or switch to joystick control. Will be fun to see how well it works. Put a picture of it in the files section.

Saludos!
Miguel Angel  5 points - 5/25/2013

How much range it has? Thank you!
 Carlos 20 points
Saludos!

Is it possible to have this radio control (mode 2) delivered in Australia (Sydney) in one week if I buy it from the international warehouse? I´*m staying there for work only for 10 days. Thanks!
 v_max 442 points
Risky. May not be delivered at time. But why not to order it from australia to your home address? And you will have it at home when you return...

I get emails on a item to make any TX use (other manuf'ers RXs.to be down loaded to accept the TX to control it), is this just a scam or for REAL???
 EffinA 1323 points
I haven't heard of that, it doesn't sound right. You can change modules to make this TX use different receivers, but that is hardware, not software.
jan  2 points - 5/24/2013

Thanks a lot :)

while i have connected my Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter w/ Module & 8ch Receiver (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware) with a acro then its starts giving sounds why?

that switch error, set all position of switch 'away' from you.

Will this radio work with the OrangeRX RX3S 3-Axis Flight Stabilizer w/DSM2 Compatible 6CH 2.4Ghz Receiver or do i have to use the stock receiver?
 v_max 442 points
No, this TX is NOT DSM2 it is FHSS, so it is not compatible with DSM2 receiver, you would need to use bundled turnigy receiver
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 hanafi 34 points
it wont work with stock module, but will work if you change the module with the OrangeRX Module (SKU: 9171000070)
 EffinA 1323 points
A better thought on this would be to use the OrangeRX V2 flight stabilizer, which is what I am using in my Funfighter. This will work with most any receiver.
jan  2 points - 5/24/2013

Can i use for etc. A 10c or hiher rate discharge battery???
 Roger 2300 points
If you mean for the battery to power this tx, you can 2S to 3S battery of any discharge rate. As long as it fits the battery compartment and battery plug.
 EffinA 1323 points
Actually, it is much better to use a transmitter pack (below 2s) for this TX. If the regulator goes into a thermal runaway condition, it can damage the circuitry, whic a 2s discharge rate would prevent. You can use a higher discharge battery temporarily though.

 v_max 442 points
my 9x do not like 2S... It's beeping complaining low voltage.
 jps123 78 points
The c rating doesn't matter. It'll work with 3s. But the recommended battery is Life type. Buy this: HK.1500.TX.L
 EffinA 1323 points
My oops, I was thinking 2c discharge with a 3s battery. Yes, a LiFe bateery is much better, I use a Zippy Flightmax 1800 with a modified plug.
Robert  1 points - 5/24/2013

Do the gimbals have ball-bearings?
 EffinA 1323 points
Yes, according to the specs, but I haven't taken them apart to look at them. The do feel very good.
 v_max 442 points
I didn't noticed any bearings in gimbals, when replaced gimbal potentiometer. On one side gimbal hangs directly on potentiometer on other side... just a plastic axis in plastic hole.

What is a good battery for this radio? Does anyone know if the Turnigy 9XR Safety Protected 11.1v (3s) 2200mAh 1.5C Transmitter Pack will work?
 Roger 2300 points
It will work, but the discharge plug for that lipo is a JST, there's a chance that you might reverse the polarity. remember to insert the side with the red (positive) wire to the center. I wouldn't to prove if the safety protected feature really works.
 chozian 8 points
I highly recommend the HobbyKing 1500mAH LiFe 3S 9.9v Transmitter pack (PRODUCT ID: HK.1500.TX.L).
 v_max 442 points
You can use any 3S LIPO pack which will fit 32x30x110 battery compartment size. The most mAH with "Rhino 2620mAh 3S 11.1v Low-Discharge Transmitter Lipoly Pack" (ID:R2620-TX-3) But you would need to adopt pack connector.

zippy 2500 (ID: ZIP25003S3C)
 EffinA 1323 points
Here we go again sorry for the caps. THE 9XR BATTERY DOES NOT FIT THE 9X, WITHOUT MODS TO THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT! I am saying this because so many people have been stuck thinking it will fit. Use a LiFe battery, Hermit is right on this. The 9x voltage regulator was not designed for a 3s LiPo either, and there are reports of the radio burning out over time.

have you try this ka roger? salamat....
 Roger 2300 points
orbsjhay  2 points - 5/23/2013

FrSky DF 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR w/ Module & RX...eto yung sinasabi roger, 52 usd FrSky Telemetry Reciever upgrade USB/Serial lead interface,,,quite complicated upon upgrade, never done this,,,can u help me for that....one thing yung module sa likod nitong turnigy 9x, diba when you pull it out, is there any connection with the radio itself?
 Roger 2300 points
Yan nga, yung FrSky Telemetry Reciever upgrade USB/Serial lead interface, di mo na kailangan, naka version 2.0 na ang frsky receiver and tx. For the 9X, me wire na lumulusot from tx module to the tx itself. The module is not completely removable. If you are considering to buy the frsky module as well, better go with 9XR, wala ka nang gagawing mod masyado.

diba yung turnigy 9x yung module nya yung nasa likod,,meaning yun yung ppltan ng frsky module at the same time buy din me ng reciever n frsky?
 Roger 2300 points
You will get beep alarms when the receiver is going out of range.

does frsky module n receiver will bind or fit with this turnigy radio, sorry im not familiar with it
 Roger 2300 points
Yes frsky tx module will fit, choose the one that says JR compatible. Some modding is required to fully fit the DJT module. It won't snuggly fit with the turnigy 9X module bay, kailngan konting bawas sa plastic na nakaharang sa pins ng frsky module.
 Roger 2300 points
You need that to upgrade the firmware to er9x or er9x-frsky.

When I turn it on, it says switch error. Any advice?
 Jakub 41 points
You have to turn off all switches. Switch is turned off when it is pushed forward.

any body can tell or have experience the maximum range of this radio? does it work well?
 georgiev.s 25 points
It work perfect. With the original module you should be able to reach probably 1km, but this depends on the environment. With the FrSky module you can reach at least 1,5km. Hope this info helps you.

IS this one better than the 9XR ???
 hermit81 1641 points
whom as. who does not like the look of the new transmitter ...who does not like you need to purchase a separate module and receiver. but 9xr have new firmware/ hve more settings. 9x - sales with transmitter module and receiver. 9x will be cheaper than buying 9xr and buying a transmitter module with receiver
 jps123 78 points
see Bruce's (rcmodelreviews) review on youtube. this tx scored the same with the 9xr in terms of ergonomics, firmware and features. This one's even better in terms of switch accessibility than 9xr
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 EffinA 1323 points
Better or worse is only relative to your uses. Me I have big hands, and I have no problems with the switches on the 9xr. For me, the 9xr is better, but maybe not for you. To really know the best thing for you, you should assess your uses or needs. I got the 9xr for parkflyers, but now I am setting it up for FPV. It's all good for it. If you are happy modifying that confounded antenna wire, the 9x can do what you want similar to the 9xr. All in your court, go figure!
sai786  1 points - 5/21/2013

Does anyone know if i will be able to bind this TX with a spektrum ar6200 receiver
 EffinA 1323 points
Nope, in it's soock configuration, it will not. You need to get the OrangeRX module to do that, and if you do, you might as well get the 9xr, to avoid doing mods to the antenna wire on the 9x.

i bind with esc
 Roger 2300 points
Here's how, again:
 Srijal Poojary 17 points
he is doing it with a receiver pack. I mean, can I do it with the ESC servo plug?
 hermit81 1641 points
im do this with esc
 Roger 2300 points
Yes, you can do it with the ESC servo plug (BEC out).
 v_max 442 points
You can do it with the ESC servo plug, but you need to power ESC to get 5v on ubec output.

I am using an ASSAN hacker modulewith the 9X Tx.
With no recievers available I hooked up the Hacker as follows:
1- Top Pin signal
2- no connection
3- Red plus
4- Black -
5- no connection.

You can see photo's at www.link only gave it 4 stars as the TX did not work as recieved, one of the wires to the dual rate switch was not connected, an easy fix.

I'd give this radio a 5 star rating but there are a few minor things that subtract points.
-One is that putting the batteries is a hassle, the 8 AA cell holder is OK, but the cable gets on the way of the cover and it takes a while to be able to close it, there's a lot of pinching of the cables involved so I shouldn't wonder if the insulation fails sooner or later requiring a replacement of the cables.
-Second is the very annoying and loud BEEEEP!!! you get with every-single-click you do on the buttons, seriously stressing to set up the radio at home, not good for conjugal life. To fix that I cut the leg that goes from a transistor to the speaker and added a 220 Ohm resistor in between.
-Third, no manual comes with the radio.
-Fourth setting up a V-Tail was a mind bending affair, I succeeded but I couldn't grok the logic of the procedure.

Besides those things it's a good product.

I purchased this transmitter & Assan XJ8 module from HC. First I got around the switch error bug (thanks to that reviewer)
For me the Assan XJ8 just flashes red once on start up, but gives no steady red LED & will not go into pairing mode.
Assan say they don't know the problem & suggest putting XJ8 in another TX (I don't have one)
Anyone know how to test if TGY 9X or Assan is the problem? Thanks

Great range - over 3000m, but realy to big receiver. Also dont like to small battery compartment, and antenna linked with wire.
You Also can't mix with AUX cahnnels - you can oly mix first 4 cahnells. No manual - It could be at least link at this product to download manual for Turnigy 9x. Also don,t like that this transsmiter in almost never in stock, or that there smaller 6 ch receivers I waiting for more 3 months So from me only 3 stars.
