Ah yes... The Kicker.... someone already said that he melted his foamy with heat generated when applying CA Accelerator. So no thank you. I wanna learn on someone else mistakes. I dont wanna melt my DLG wings by fixing CA hinges with this glue and spraying the kicker.
Hello,, best wishes to that man :) ...
you can use this kicker or accelerator this its product id :
PRODUCT ID: HK-151
i used it before many times and it works on foams like depron, but dont spray in big quantity :) :) ..
Best Regards
Yes, the package is pretty, and the bottle doesnt clog, and its great. But it says "foam safe" in title, and on bottle it says "instant adhesive". Well its a terrible lie! It is soooo not instant for foam. As someone already said it bonds organic materials as it should - quickly. It is not intended for foam, it just doesnt melt it, so it is sold for foam for that reason. Nowhere on the bottle it says that it is for foam. Its just low odor super glue, that is not super for foam. If you have to wait for hours for it to cure, then its better to use 5min epoxy.
ohh comon you r right , but not that much ...
i used this even in much quantity in small area on depron and it cures longest time in 5min actually ..
But the if you use the epoxy 5min it will not cure actually in 5min but in 1 hour ..

Don't know precisely, but it takes hours at least. If I apply the glue on one side and Insta Set on the other the bond is instantaneous! No chance of adjusting. Apply the glue on both sides and adjust the joint, then spray Insta Set to get it connected. If yo have to fill a wider gap use baking soda as accelerator. Sets very quick and fills gaps. It is white first and yellows a bit over time though. Tony

If you are going to store CA, keep it in the refrigerator. Refrigeration keeps the CA from drying-out, or thickening. I stored 3 bottles of CA (foam free) for about a year, I started using one of the stored bottles about a week ago, and is very fluid works like I bought it yesterday.
Yes!!!! I store all my CA in the fridge its the best way to keep it for along time I am using this one right now that is over 10 months old Works just like Steve said as If I just bought it today!!!BTW-if you want a GREAT CA order this stuff the best I have ever used hands down! just ordered 5 more cuz they sell out fast works w/ kicker too
I use this adhesive and accelerator (PRODUCT ID: HK-151) when things break during fly time. I usually have my plane back in the air in just a few minuets, depending on the amount of carnage of course.
Hello New123. With EPO foam you can use pretty much whatever you want. CA both foam safe and not. Epoxy, Gorolla whatever you prefer. One tip that alot of people overlook is to lightly sand any paint from glue joints, Doing this will help make a much stronger joint. Also scoring the glue joints lightly will give more surface area for epoxies and expanding glues such as Gorilla.
No you do not have to use a kicker but glue dries slow and when dry it is hard and brittle, if you use a kicker it dries fast and is more flexible when dry.
No. It´*s not needed. It dries very fast in organic surfaces, like skin or wood and some kinds of plastics. But it is very slow when used over metals, the majority of plastics and composites and other inert surfaces.
I have a particular sensation that it becomes fragile when used with accelerator. But I don't have made any criterious test about that.
I take it you have not used this glue then Hamdhan because you cant just hold the parts together for 10-15 seconds and its done more like 10-15 minutes this glue does not dry to quick so a kicker helps alot but not essential.
I really like this CA! I found if you use to much then it does take sometime dry it takes a VERY small amount to do the job but works very well and it is thin (like water) even though it says med
One of the most advanced adhesives on the hobby market. The added cost is worth it. On EPO, EPS, and Depron, the glue does not attack the foam. Evotite also generates LESS heat upon cure, than other CA glues. The heat issue hasn't been completely avoided, but not much perfect in this world. As with all CA adhesives, it gives off vapor when under accelerated cure, but signifigantly less than usual CA, with NO odor sitting enmass.
Some caution with CA...it bonds to skin rapidly, more rapidly than most things...and also...carbon fiber parts bond VERY quickly...haven't found out why yet
It's normal for CA glues. The hydroxide group (OH) activates it. And we are more then 80pcnt made from (H-OH) water. So you have to be more precise and to work clear with it. Even that this is fantastic glue. I am using more than 1 gallon monthly CA adhesives and I am very sorry, that HK don't have a store on my street :).
with regards to CA bonding skin rapidly, the origin of CA pre-dates back to world war 2, however its medical useage were discovered in the vietnam war when it was originally used in field surgery to close wounds.. it has a pretty interesting background.. check it out on wikipedia..
as abouve, hence why saliva makes a good activator too
Hello.. why??? i used it for a long time man... its a foam safe, please be carful because there is a CA but not safing foam and looks same...
But,,,in my oponion if you glue more the foam will damage..
Best Regards
I used up my whole bottle without any signs of foam damage :/
I really like this glue. It has a great bottle that doesn't clog. It dries a bit slower though. I would say it's bonds within 30sec ~
The melting was most likely due to HEAT. CA Glue of any kind, in a mass, forced to cure faster with accelerator will generate a hot spot. Use the glue in conservative manner, and only accelerator if needed, but sparingly.
That particular plane looks like its made from recycled eskys or something. I used the CA to glue a carbon spar into the main wing, no accelerator, and the foam melted. I did not know this had happened till retiring the bird from active duty.
this glue is OK on EPP, with or without a kicker...
however on meterial such as Depron it's a no go zone, the glue is not designed to be foam safe though, it's simply a low odur foam suitable for enclosed environments..
Ben "however on meterial such as Depron it's a no go zone, the glue is not designed to be foam safe though"..........
so why is it sold as "Evotite CA460 Foam Safe Super Glue (Medium)" ..... i guess you won't mind being sent a potato when you purchase your next lipo then!!!
This glue don't smells any thing...
Excellent to be used with HK accelerator (that smells strawberry)
I use this glue since many years with depron and i recommand this product !
no odor, and spray a little kicker and its an instant dry. I have ripped my foamie plane in half and in roughly 5 min i had her back in the air using this ca kicker.
You dont need glue to assemmble a 450 only thread lock. You should put medium thread lock on any screw that screws into metal not plastic as you will not be able to open it again.
Yes it is safe on all foams Dry time is slow But the applicater is the best dosent block or need capping Just use the Insta-Set CA Accelerator and your ready to go in no time
this is the best foam safe glue I have used, it may bond other materials O.K but remember there is not one glue that does everything so research the best glue for the job at hand. Cheer's Mick
it'll work good with the fibre glass as it'll stick to the epoxy surface quite good but on metal all it takes it a hard knock and it'll come loose from the metal, for glueing metal go for an epoxy resin, hope this helps
FWIW, you don't need Foam Safe CA for EPO foam only EPS. Ordinary super glue won't melt EPO, only melts moulded (fruit box) or extruded (Depron) EPS. I use this one, HobbyKing Med and Thick CA (Excellent) and SuperGlue from the Reject Shop ($2 for 8 tubes, thin). Keep your CA in the fridge.
cela fonctionne parfaitement tant que vous n'avez pas besoin de le reprendre hors. (ENG) this will work perfect as long as you dont need to take it back off.
Hola este pegamento funciona genial. deja muy fuerte las uniones. yo lo uso como si fuera pegamento de contacto me a hada mejor resultado.(poner en ambas superficies a pegar)
Yes it is safe on all foams Dry time is slow But the applicater is the best dosent block or need capping Just use the Insta-Set CA Accelerator and your ready to go in no time
Yes it will work, but you'll need accelerator on EPP and Depron. Normal thin CA also works well on EPP it creates a good bond, only small amount of accelerator needed with std CA.

Hey guys, this comes with like a very thin bendable straw type thing. Im not sure exactly how to use it?
Do we stick it onto the top of the bottle or do we put the straw into the bottle and suck out the glue?
Stick the fat end on the bottle. The long thin tube allows you to place very small drops where you want them. You can cut the tube shorter but the shorter you cut it, the bigger the drop will be. I guess you could use use it as a straw by plugging the big end with your finger if that works for you.
straw is an applicator put it on top of the bottle and turn bottle up and squeeze for required amount of glue remember to wear safety glasses also it bonds your skin instantly so caution is neccesarry when using super glue or any glue for that matter
you use the glue straight from the botlle.i have the same glue and it is a very good glue if you let it for about 20 min in the foam objects you wanna glue.
Just put the straw on the bottle with the wide section. You can cut the straw shorter to create a bigger hole. Works very good in applications where you don't want to get glue everywhere.
It suppose to be used as disposable glue tip to keep real thing in perfect shape all it's life. I have used several bottles and yet never needed that. Bottle is strong and the glue doesn't seem to bond it very tight. It can be usefull on tight spaces tough...
the bendable straw type thing fits to the top of the bottle for getting into tight areas. its also good when you don't need lots of glue because it makes the glue come out a little slower and more droplet like. you probably need to trim about a millimeter off of the end to open the tube. very handy little device!! good luck!!!!!!!!!!
I stick it on the bottle and use it as a precision nozzle. However it has a tendency to get clogged at the end after use. I have bought a bunch of "Ex-Long CA Ex-Tips (1pc)" and "CA Applicator Fine (1pc)" as well, as replacements for my various glue bottles. When the tip clogs I cut off the clogged part.
The thin bendable straw type thing is a wicking tube, it just pushes in the top of the bottle and is used for accuract appication of the glue into joints and places hard to get to. The tube is normaly made of a plastic that CA dose not stick to, so it will not clog, you only pull the dry drip off the end of the tube and it's ready to use again.
Pop it on to the end of the nozzle and use it to get into those hard to reach places *) Remember to clean it out afterwards or it'll be a one shot wonder.
All the best!
throw the straw out and buy some pipettes from HK.they work extremely well for those hard to reach places plus make application in general more accurate, thus saving glue.
Some products are sold in a very large amount, when they are already sent to meet pending applications or are bought by customers on duty on the internet. make your request on backorder and when it arrives in stock you will be met with certainty.
Totalmente de acuerdo. Es eficaz con depron, foam, epp y cualquier material de similares caracteristicas. Una vez encolado ofrece resistencia y durabilidad. Por tanto, es un producto altamente recomendable por calidad/precio.
I have bought this glue the second time!!!! I very strongly was upset!!!! Glue does not stick together polyfoam, sticks together only fingers. Very much was upset, bad glue. More it I will not buy!!!
Foam safe glue is good for making small Foam models. I have made 2 models from 1 bottle. Good shelf life. The only drawback is the applicator. It should have come with a Pinned cap, to ensure that the glue does not clog the nozzle.
PRO'S Very strong Smaller amounts of glue work better Extension tip good for smaller jobs No clog nozzle works very well Works great with Z-Foam & Depron CON'S A little fast flowing without extension tip

This glue is a real bargain :)
I used to glue foam with ZAP foam safe CA, which is more than double this price !!!
The less you use, the better it'll stick together. Don't use to much cause it will have to cure much longer. Makes strong bond.
It comes in an airtight package, so longer storage will be no problem. When open, i leave it on mu bench without cap, this way the small tip won't glue itself tightened ...
The cap has a steel needle, which prevents blooming. Good product, I like it very much ...

Great foam safe glue. Liquid thin, which is the most useful type most of the time. Works well on depron and wood.
