This is a mini Arduino based on-screen display board. It's tailored for use with ArduPilot Mega and the MAVlink protocol, and designed to be as small as possible.
It's main components are an ATmega328P 8 bit microcontroller with an Arduino bootloader, and a MAX7456 monochrome on-screen display. Programming is done through an FTDI-compatible 6-pin cable.
It features two independent power and ground sections to isolate the OSD's analog stage: a +5V section for the ATmega and the OSD's digital stage, powered through the FTDI cable or other +5V source; and a regulated +5V section for the OSD's analog stage, powered through the video in/out header and capable of handling up to +12V input.
Features:
• ATmega328P with Arduino bootloader • MAX7456 monochrome on-screen display • FTDI cable compatible pinout • Standard 6-pin ISP header • Two independent power sections with an LED indicator on each • Solder jumpers for combining the power sections • +5V 500mA regulator for up to +12V supply input (5-12v range) • Solder jumper for PAL video option • Exposed test points for HSYNC and LOS
Specs: Voltage: 5-12v Dimensions: 50 x 18 x 10mm Weight 4g

Hi guys, were there any 'files' associated with this product? It seems like all the HobbyKing 'Files' have vanished so i'm struggling with pinouts! Anyone else getting this?
Nope...this osd cant display anything unless it receives Mavlink data from the FC..which is the APM 2.5 or the Multiwii (You can use this with multiwii as stated by Vladimir below but for that you will have to flash a different firmware) Mavlink is just the name of the protocol which is used to communicate with this OSD..but if you are a coder or hacker then this can be programmed to receive data over the SPI bus of the atmega324 MCU on the KK2....but with the native code on this osd ...the KK2 is not supported...
Hi all can anyone help me please? can this minim osd v0.1 use on MultiWii SE V2.0 Flight Controller which selling in hobbyking??? Are they compatible. Thank inadvance
Multiwii does not use Mavlink to communicate with the FC,like in the case of the APM,Multiwii does not support telemetry, hence as this OSD receives data through the MAVlink connection to display the elements on the screen which is not used in multiwii,it cannot be used with any multiwii board out there.....
use the usbasp if you know how to use avrdude, but I would recommend using the FTDI cable to flash it using arduino as it has the bootloader already installed and it is much more easy and interactive...
It is plug and play but, there are different powering schemes, one is where you use the APM to power this module which is preferred as the linear regulator onboard wont cause the osd to heat up,but if you power this and the camera with a 12v line you may face heating problems,so power it with the APM and supply the camera with a different power source, and then connect this in between the two to get reliable OSD operation
yea, tastes great... didn't read the rest, not looking for a lecture. I have 30 hours on this device at 12v, but ill spend 60 quid on a genuine replacement.....no
V1.1 is the official current hardware with a switching power instead a linear voltage regulator. The resource you've mentioned is on the firmware, it's not about the hardware.
Hahaha......I Am trying to compare the eagle schemes....If only the regulator is the difference then....I am going to pick one of these right away...20 USD instead of 60 is the best offer yet...I haven't found something like this even on ebay....
Yup Its just the regulator that is different.....so I can confirm that this a fully usable clone of the minimosd V1...it can be programmed completely to work like the real one......
I sure hope they get a Singapore version of APM 2.5. I have had tons of problems with American made, and Tijuana made boards from D*I*Y drones. They won't take responsibility for DOA's EVER!
Are any changes needed to get it working with Rushduino and multiwii. I come across the odd reference to using this with MW in forums but nothing appeared to be definitive.
