How do you reset the battery that comes with this product? I have never had to perform a reset procedure like they describe in the manual.
 tommy2toes 2085 points
the only reset available is for the headtracking you might be refering to the discharge adaptor for some chargers allowing to reset your battery to 0 thus allowing a perfectly balanced charge. ps i read the whole manual and have the preditor so i was courious.hope this helps.tommy

Now since its going through the trainer port, do I have to hold down the trainer switch to look around? And if I do are my controls cut off until I let the switch go like it normally would in trainer mode?
 mena142 740 points
No, because in this case the goggles are the MASTER and your radio is the SLAVE, meaning the goggle are the ones controlling your radio at will. The trainer switch is for the MASTER to take over control.
 BrianB192 1293 points
! its a simlpe balence gyro switch in goggles that moves the servos through trainer port configeration ,in allow trainer to the allercated channel . ony 2 possible channels . as the 2 movements pan tilt / yes / I agree with you and I can say i have both this 2d and 3d generation is better d Far better .

Im using the JR 10X for my radio, is there anyway to use the head tracking with the TX that I have? Or any head tracking device would be nice, doesn't just have to be the built in one. Thanks!
 mena142 740 points
The unit has a simple PPM output through the head tracker port. JR uses the same 3.5mm audio style plug for the trainer port, so this will work with your radio, you only have to follow your own radio's instruction to set up the trainer. Good luck!
 tommy2toes 2085 points
it will work just set trainer switch everything off exept the two channels you need for the head tracking servos then when you push the trainer button your headtracking should work also follow goggle instuctions to turn it on hope that helps some

Im using lawmate rx 1.2 and it works great with these googles.
 ArSkDave 28 points
it comes with a/v inputs so you can plug in any receiver you wish to use :)
 snipeworm 37 points
It will not work with the Fatshark wireless systems It will plug in as the others have stated but the wireless channels are different so you will not get it without the wires
 BrianB192 1293 points
All Fat shark gear Is compattable in all Generations ,, So Buy the cheapest high resolution goggles . and Move the reciever and Gyro Balence Circuit . Unplugs and than plug in your gyro and 5.8 reciever box , move to the new Gen 3 goggles .. as you need to buy all new bits other wise . when No . your fatshark goggles through out the range are same inside .all bits .ok

I would like to know if the V2 RTF set's Transmeter is able to connect to this V1 FatShark Predetor Goggle
 snipeworm 37 points
Yes, all fatshark and Immersion Rc gear works together.
 mena142 740 points
Yes, they work with each other. They are both propietary hardware.

Hi Guys got this the other day. I got an external tx/rx but I wanted to know which receiver can I use if I wanted to use the built in tx on the goggles? thinking of using that on my quad instead of buying a whole setup again. thanks
 mena142 740 points
You mean what Tx (Transmitter). The internal Rx (receiver) only works with the ImmersionRC brand of FPV gear. As far as I know, there are only a 100mW and a 600mW version available. Most people just plug their Goggles with the supplied A/V cable to their previous receiver. If you want the freedom of movement, some people connect the ImmersionRC 100mW Tx to their other receiver so they can re-transmit to the goggles.

what camera and what tx need this to wark? is there track head to?9
 mena142 740 points
This has a built in head tracker that comes with the package. The only transmitters that work with the buil-in receiver are the ImmersionRC ones. You can also use different systems through the A/V cable. As far as the camera, you can use any camera you want, as long as you're able to wire it into the transmitter unit.

did you forget to mention they all the same bits inside ,, through out the Range ,, so buy your inturnal reciever either seperate .5.8 or 2.4 gig . can be either . same with needing HT , my unit came with nothing . when i got the gen 3 set . so i use all the bits from this unot to add to the gen 3 goggles now out . so all i say reciever abd Gyro HT is plug in ,out . electronic,s just need open the Goggles . and you find ,this bits plug out awap .to new GENeration goggles .

This is a very important question! Does anyone know if the goggles goes blue/black screen due to weak signal? I like a static screen for FPV?
 BrianB192 1293 points
itd the channel change ,,or the switch to change input ,,but if not signal look over it all and see it camera is working ,, try the channel , And Now i have had them afew week there cheap nasty and very easy to break ,I have a Line in the middle of the screen ,, one eye Side of the screen is damaged Like a Crack or loose object inside has come look and is Blocking some of the View , Im Very upset with it .Now 2x ps2 leads have broken as in a way i say defective built , made to break if any tention on Lead is Applyed , can break lead ,Cheap all round .waist of Money for such awell known brand ,,gone to the cheap side ,.
 mena142 740 points
It goes to static, no default screen. These are designed FOR FPV, which differs from other Goggles which are made to watch movies and stuff. If you don't have anything plugged in and the internal receiver is off, you will get a black screen as far as I remember, but with anything plugged in you get what that device is outputting.
patrizio_g  60 points - 9/22/2012

Hi, can i use the predator to connect it to my ground station and not use the receiver on the predator? if not then which fat shark head set can i use for this application? Thanks.
 BrianB192 1293 points
yes It has In line mate and if you do not know ,,and Use it with it on Line ,,It will seam Blury Untill you switch it over to in line reciever ,. But exturnal Works ,, and shame there is no out Line ,.LOL
 mena142 740 points
Yes, that's exactly what I do. I fly with the cheap HK 900Mhz 200mW system, and plug it to the Fat Sharks through the A/V cable. The internal receivers will only work with InmersionRC transmitters.
Michal  16 points - 9/3/2012

When tracking gets to maximum it turns off and servos sets to zero. After reset it works again until it reaches maximum position. How can i setup this to work correctly?
 mena142 740 points
I have never experienced this behaviour. I use it with a Turnigy 9x and it doesn't reset when it gets to max. Maybe it's your specific setup. Be sure to set up servo centering as per the manual. Also remember some electronic appliances may cause interferience with the tracker, as it's magnetic driven. The tracker also has the feature to auto center after holding your head position a few seconds. Good luck!
 Michal 16 points
I wonder if there is a two way communication between videao googles and Tx(I use turnigy9x). If not, i could guess there is only problem with googles, because when this issue happens, googles makes a beep sound, while transmitter displays (in display option) position zero to previously active channels.
 BrianB192 1293 points
Learn to Run the sound Beeps to set all the correct pan and Tilt ,,with the beeps its tricky and you wil find itworks after a few min ou will win ,, Just read instructions to set up ,,as i had tryed to servo reverse ,,not will work either ,,Only In the Goggles can you reverse them.

Hi, Is this product has an AV input ? I mean is that possible to plug another rx instead of the build in one ? This setup seems good but maybe I plan to use another RX later.
 mena142 740 points
Yes, the cable is included with the product. You can see it on the fourth picture.
 psycomaxter 6 points
Thank you!
 Neil 1 points
Yes I've used this with the included phono cable set to get A/V form another source. I've also used these with another 5.8 Tx on the Hubsan SpyHawk and they work perfectly as long as you choose the correct frequency.

Mine Has a Like bit of loose stuff blocking inside like a cracked bit of the lense ,, its so cheap and badly Made ..I can see its a complete cheap Substitute to real Goggles. I am Dissipated and i will need get real Goggles soon AND DONT BOTHER With head tracking ,get external Tracking Much better to use.

I lost one of the eye cups - is there a replacement available or did I just render my $270 goggles useless by losing a $.10 part?

You can buy them from ReadymadeRC, for about $10. Go to the Fatshark website and visit some of the dealers websites, you will may find different sellers.

witch Fatshark goggels are the newest of The Dominator and the Predator
 Lorix 58 points
In my opinion, the best headset Googles is the Predator (as well as the newest).
Someone said that the Dominator have a greater FOV, but I remain of the opinion that the Predator is better: only disadvantage (both sets) is the diopter correction with interchangeable lenses instead of a correction with a knob ...
I hope I was of help.

so is The Predators a better buy?
 BrianB192 1293 points
yes over all i found better Value this is why i am buying now as the older gear i have was not fat shark and was not quality eye piece as fat shark has incorporated in there comfortable fit ..
 lobstermash 265 points
Dominators also have better optics* glass rather than plastic. Predators are a very adequate compromise, whereas the Dominators are a bit pricey when you calculate the head tracking rx.

Can I bypass the 5.8ghz receiver in the goggles and use an external 1.2ghz receiver?
 R/CNewbie 3807 points
Yup, the goggles have AV in, so just connect the AV cables from your 1.2G receiver to the goggles and they should automatically switch from the built in receiver to your external one...

hy i want to fly fpv 1000-2000m and also flight informations on screen!how is it possible what combo doas it needed?
 Arman 373 points
no it's not with this system.
 R/CNewbie 3807 points
B E V R C 800mw 1.3Ghz with CE OSD V1.5. That will give you a range of 2-4km with stock antennas.
 Lorix 58 points
This kit is the basis for the FPV.
To fly beyond 1000 meters. need a more powerful Tx (ideal 1 Watt) and preferably with a lower carrier frequency (900 MHz), also a ground station (preferably with a high gain antenna with auto-tracking or to be worn on the shoulders).
To have an on-screen display with all flight parameters, requires a GPS and an OSD, be installed on board the aircraft.
Everything you need you can find it at the best price here on HobbyKing.
I hope I was helpful.

hey guys im new to fpv and i was wondering what kind of range i will get if i combine this with a clover leaf antenna on the tx and rx and also use the HobbyKing 600mW Video Transmitter?
thankyou so much.
 R/CNewbie 3807 points
Not really sure, but on a 200mw system with cloverleaf and skew planar antennas your talking over 2km, so the 600mw should give you some fantastic range for the price! If you want to go even further, have a look for a UHF radio system and a 5.8Ghz patch antenna... Regards -Al

Very nice product. I use these with both my Tricopter and Bixler. The 25' FOV is no issue at all and I appreciated the additional resolution in the screen. Flying the Bixler with these is a dream... (kids love these too)...

The goggles came in a nice box and packed well i like the rubber cups for the eye, some people said 25 degree FOV and its not that big problem actually its not really so much noticeable, i hooked it up to an HD TV system and i received the image fully with no cuts, also i noticed the screen contrast need to be a little more, also the edge are little blurry, other than that its really nice.
