Turnigy nano-tech 1800mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack

Turnigy nano-tech 1800mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack

More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo  nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.
Excellent news for 3D pilots!

Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!

* The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;
-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.
-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC
-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.
-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

Is this suitable for a quad with 28-26 NTM 1200KV motors with 7x4 and 20A ESC's?
 SPSGRG 31 points
This is a 25 C battery, that means max current drain for the battery is 25C*1800mAh/1000=45A. So with 4 motors which max amps are 18A you have a max current of 18*4 =72A. Your current drain demanded by the motors is more than the current that the battery can handle. You should use a battery with more C rating for the same capacity (45C*1800mAh/1000=80A) or a battery with the same C rate and aprox double of capacity of this (25C*3600mAh/1000=90A). Hope this helps!

Thanks! Its sort of too late now, but with the prop ill be using I don't think I'll pull full 72 Amps.
 SPSGRG 31 points
yeah, that prop will pull about 9-12 amps by motor but being safe is always a good idea, and it allows you to put some bigger prop if you need more thrust!
 Ayberk 39 points
What if I connect two in parallel? Would that give me max 90 amps?
 SPSGRG 31 points
sure! that is the other option of course. In parallel, current is divided on each battery but always be sure that the batteries are identical. *)

For Those Few That said batteries did last but for a few flights well for one I would bet That you Charged battery at a Higher Amp Rate Than the Battery Capasity Example The 1800 Mah battery Should Not Be Charged At A Rate Any Higher Than 1.8 Amps Per Hour yes it takes longer but lipo's last 8-10 times longer when charged at a rate no Higher Than The Battery Output

Great Batteries I Have Two 3000Mah Rx Batteries And two 1300 Mah Batteries with The XT60 Connector And two of these 1800 Mah ANd iv not had one problem with them these will be the only batteries I buy
Ken  2 points - 3/3/2013

I have a Turnigy nano-tech 1800mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack battery and I am using the Electrifly 3s connection on my Onyx 235 charger. I am getting a "Bal. Con. Error" message. I get this message whether I connect the XT60 connection to the charger or not. When I just connect the XT60 connection to the charger the error is "no battery connected". I have did continuity checks on all wires and plugs and all passed. Any help in trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated.
 SPSGRG 31 points
hello, when you say that you have done all checks to wires and plugs, do you include a selective (I mean ground cable with positive by each cell) test with a voltimeter/multimeter? If you have done that, you should try another charger or the same charger with another battery...
 Moto Moto 1 points
I got the balance connector error one time when the balance lead was plugged into the charger incorrectly. It was shifted over one pin.

Will it work on my Turnigy 4WD Mini Rally Extreme?

What is the constant discharge of this battery?
 gaaunapoi 84 points
25c about
 vulgar666au 15 points
As gaaunapoi said it's 25c. the 25c-50c means 25c constant with 50c burst current
 MikeBeri 30 points
25C x 1800mAh = 45A CONSTANT 50C x 1800mAh = 90A BURST I own one, and it works well.
 __buzz 308 points
i wouldnt suggest these. they are rubbish. All 5 of mine broke after 5 flights not happy.
 vulgar666au 15 points
I disagree never had a problem charging all the way up to 5c but usually on 2 or 3 all my battery's fine after many flights, even run them in my traxxas bandit with better all round performance. Wether you got bad batch or charger issue I don't know but I find it a great battery

...again with postage..what is with Hobbyking of late...why is my parcel in Zurich??? 2 weeks ago i ordered these batteries and i am in Australia!
 dbabojel 13 points
all Lipo's go through CH distribution line. Don't really know why but in last year all my Lipo's went through Zurich (CH). Patience is a wirtue.
 Dmitriy 1 points
probably it is just due to China Post use some european fright airplanes for international parcells, usually their are quite cheaper even when they fly through Europe...
 macchp 119 points
I think it has to do with LIPO flight transport restriction with several air lines. It's quite some time that several airlines don't transport LIPOs anymore.

wanted to use it with a 3700kv 700 watt outrummer, would a 60 ESC handle that much zip?
 lillo64 66 points
An 700W motor is too big for a 1800mAh - 25/50C. Search for min. 40C and 3000mAh.

right now it is R&D on a profile F22. I know bigger is needed. Put on KF airfoils and have 2 or so minutes of fun. I want to build up over the winter a bigger jet that will be able to take a larger battery. Thanks for the info

can i use it on my park flyer f22 raptor?
 Johann 4 points
Yes, I use the same batterie in a similar plane.
 Felipe 2 points
Yes, you can use it too !
 Winston 7 points
This is a top performer battery!!! Big time performance. I now use them in my Stryker which is sized for a 2200mah pack. Nonsense! The 1800mah Nanotech is a better performer giving better launch RPM and punch late into the flight. Lighter, faster, more powerful (50C!) and capable of charging at 5C. Terrific value.

will it work with AXN floater jet stock motor 30amp esc?
 Aleksey 7 points
There is quite enough approximately for 5 minutes of flight
 Brain 112 points
Yes it will work fine.
 Sugna 189 points
Yes the 30A ESC will handle this battery without problems.
 papa_lazerous 56 points
I have the same battery with the AXN its a perfect match! the CofG will be spot on and it fits niceand snug too. You can get long flight times too

sure, a simple concept for all the batteries... max current = capacity in Ampers multiply by C value (discharge rate) then= 1.8A/h x 25C = 45A this is the maximum continuos current for this battery. always use the lower value (continuous) the max value is not usable and for a little seconds only or you fry the batt... even better if you use a percentage of security .. I use 90pcnt of the max, the 45A=40A... with this principes you will keep your battery for long time
 Sawdust 1632 points
For a start the Floater has a 20 amp speedy, not 30. I'm currently using 1600mah bats in mine but have ordered some of these only because I think it could do with a fration more nose weight but even with the 1600 I'm getting quite long flight time of mixed flying.
JREUING  22 points - 5/31/2011

Would the above battery work in a Parkzone Radian? Or any suggestions welcome?? JR
 Sugna 189 points
Probably not, because they recommend a 1300mAh and the canopy look pretty small.
 dbeamon 5 points
that battery is to heavy for a small plane, dont know what motor you are running but i would go with a 350 or 400 3 cell 30 to 50 c is wht im using . getting a good 10 minute flight,,
 jeepking 7 points
Hello , The nano-tech batteries are a good chose but for your model it will make it nose heavy so if you chose to put this battery don't forget to check your CG and put a led weight on the tale of your plane!!! Superber battery !!!
 Rich8560 1 points
I would say that the plane would be the perfect size to accept this size of pack and you should be able to fit it in with a little modification

speed control for this???
 Robert 26 points
any esc you whant
 Boggy 7 points
With a 1800mah 25C, that's 45A constant power out , and 90A burst. I would use a combination that uses around the 40A mark, and an ESC of about 60A to handle burst. Invest in a watt meter to test your motor ESC combinations before flight saves alot of time. Remember the current drops once in the air.

speed controls are not for batteries, they are made to be compatibles with engines. you can use any speed that support 3 cell or more
 Picto 7 points
It's not the battery that dictates the size of the speed controller it's the motor and what draws through the esc that battery can run with any size esc.
 kingwaz 23 points
take it to a real hobby shop and they should know.
 danitegue 121 points
depends of the motor. at max this pack can give you 50*1.8A=90Amp peak. You esc might be according the motor consumption.
 Veli-Pekka 6 points
I use it with my 60A esc on NTM 35-36B motor.
 Rocketman4God 5 points
I would also say that it depends on the motor. The motor is the component that is demanding the amount of current that will flow through your speed control. Look at the motor specifications or the customer reviews to see how many amps a certain motor is drawing on a certain prop. Then you can decide on a speed controller.

i'm sure these would be great batterys ran together in a series for the hk 500?? what does every1 else think??

Very good stuff - just beware - many ESCs do not handle the cut-off correctly as these have so high discharge capabilities. Use a chrono or the timers in your Tx to count flight times. Very good cells.

I NEVER SUGGEST YOU TO BUY THIS NANO-TECH LI-PO'S. I BOUGHT TWO AND BOTH OF THEM BROKEN DOWN IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS. IF YOU ALREADY BOUGHT, DONT TRY TO CHARGE OVER 1C AND BE AWARE OF THAT, IT WILL NOT WORK SOON.

First low price true 25C battery. Measured internal resistance (Ri) is 8 miliOhm per cell. It makes possible 45A continuous discharging.
