Unique and quality features which make this an outstanding engine are; Walbro carburettor. Easy to tune, instant throttle response. CNC Milled crank-case. Precise, light weight yet strong. CNC Lathed prop shaft. Light weight yet strong. CDI system. Electrinic Ignition makes starting a breeze!
The exciting thing about gas motors such as this one, is that they improve with age, giving increased power output. Treated well, these engines will last for many years.
Spec. Displacement: 30cc Weight: 939g (w/ spark plug) Carburettor: (Walbro) Diaphragm & Butterfly valve. Prop Speed: 1600 ~ 12000rpm Max power: 2.7hp/1.98kw Suggested prop: 16x8, 17x8, 17x10 Ignition: DC-CD (6v only) Mixture: 25:1 to 40:1 Bore/Stroke: 34x28mm Size: 130mm high / 120mm wide* Mount hole: 64mm x 64mm
The motor is compact, light and will fit inside most cowls designed for these types of motors.
* The engine is available in two colours Black & Silver. We are unable to guarantee the engine will be either color.
Note. All motors are tested, tuned and broken in for 7 minutes at the factory and will smell like gasoline when you receive it. This is normal. We stock all parts for this engine.
Century makes 2 gasser helis that use a zenoah 20cc in the Radikal g20 and a zenoah26cc in the radikal g30. the g20 is 600 size, g30 700 size. they use a 90 tooth gear and 16 tooth pinion which gives you 1800 rpm headspeed at 10,000 engine rpm. also for the physical dimensions, the zenoahs are twice the size of this motor and are not made specifically for rc as this motor is. O.S makes a 15 cc gasand it flys a .90 size heli i believe.youtube it. if a heli is made for nitro or gas engines. check the overall size of the recommended engine hp, weight rpms etc, and compare with the engines here, i'm looking at putting this one or the 26cc in a Radikal g20 or the Aeolus .50 (both 600 size)
This would not be good in a 600 size heli, first thing is you would struggle to fit it,the revs would be a bit low so the gearing would need sorting, you would have trouble fitting the clutch and vibration would also be an issue, these type of motors are not as well balanced as a nitro engine.
There are a few gas heli's about that use 23cc size engines, they are more like a 700 size. The engines are well sorted and balanced and the mounting and gear ratio's are also sorted.
I have heard of a 15cc gas engine for heli's but have never seen one.
the spark plug I use in my turngy 30 is a ngk cmr7h they are great.Ihave just had 10 hours air time this weekend and the turngy 30 never missed a beat. and I allways use a heavy 19 to one oil mix, these plugs are readily avalible
hi guy,I want to know how to adjust the speed of this motor to my helicopter class 30, I have to enlarge the holes inside or putting a bigger sprocket, thanks
What are the correct bore and stroke dimensions of this engine?
Assuming it is over-square* the bore being 34 mm and the stroke 28 mm, the calculated displacement is 25.42 cubic cm* not 30 cc!
These are the bore and the stroke in the Spec..
Dar Zeelon
I have also checked this out and come up with exactly the same answer as you using an online calculator.Whether the combustion chamber in the head adds to this calculation I am not sure, any one else have any thoughts.
DarZeelon You are absolutly right. The displacement is calculated by bore and stroke. This engine is 25,42 cc. Look at the size of the recommanded props and the power in the spec. Why is the Power that low if the RPM is up to 12000. The answer is easy. It's not a 30cc engine.
The advertised numbers are wrong. I dismantled the cylinder to check. The bore is 36 and the stroke is 30 mm. This makes it a 30 cc engine indeed but the power output may be below expectations.
I can not stand!! You do not solve my problem!! My request number 2005292373 is not dispatched!! I've been getting in contact and you only know how to say tomorrow, tomorrow, and that tomorrow never comes!!! I was fooled by the king of the hobby!
Hi can anyone tell me why theirs such a great price on the engine? I like how cheap it is but the price is making me have secound thoughts about buying it, im afraid it wont run :/
It's strong enough...but...
The bearing would be destroyed by.
The increased lateral for (being pulled to the side rather than straight out).
Mounting a sprocket would be a nightmare.
The loudness of the engine would get you plenty of police attention.
Everything about mounting it would have to be custom.
So basically It could work, however it is so idiotic that it's not worth it. You can buy a 50cc motor designed for a scooter for less money. It will be more reliable, quieter, and better suited for the task not to mention less than 1/2 the cost.
Simple premium unledded will suffice, however make sure to add the correct amount of a decent sinthetic 2-stroke oil at 40-1 for run in, and 25 or 30-1 after run in to keep it running.
New to the world of petrol, Mounting inverted in a 1.80 size edge 540, two pipes from engine, one is for fuel in, not sure about the other? Can't find any info, doesn't come with any helpful info, they assume you know about petrol engines lol
yeah well my motor Has this Blocked and will not run clean or Evan Idle ,with out a clean crank case feed ,of pressure to work the Carburetor side Diaphragm pump .Mine i can not fix yet ,,It seems not to make any difference ,i must further inspect why ,As possibly fully blocked or not drilled through ,. There for Its a great deal of stuffing around ,to get it sorted out ..
after dissasemling the engine gently heat the rear part of the case around the bearing race with a small butane torch to expand the case and the bearing will fall out, installation is the same
Please, anyone can help me..., be if able to put this engine in a boat?

This engine was very difficult to start from new. Needed lots of priming & would not lift fuel up the line. Upon stripping the cyl off - found a mess of black sealer all over the place including the by-pass port for the pulse pump. There was no primary crackcase pressure due to the simple fact that there were no oil seals fitted on the prop shaft. Only plain metal shield bearings. Fixed all these faults and presto - Nice running engines.

Next fault was with the exhaust system. The bolt spacing on the port is wider than the mount holes in the muffler. As others have pointed out you need to increase the spacing in the muffler. I slotted the holes by a couple of mm to cure the fault.

I did not get the nice black top on my motor, but everything else seems fine. it was very good boxing. i hope this engine runs just as good is looks. It smell petrol so i guess it's been test run on the factory. So 4 stars for not getting the black top. I did not find any leakages on mine and not the silikone issue,,
