How do we charge this battery with an imax b6ac charger
 Dmaan 64 points
search HK for 601CC-14-30c which is direct to banana plugs. The balance leads plug direct into the charger. This cable was under Chargers & Accessories > Charge Leads. As the description said xt60, you could just search for xt60, view all, and chances are, you will find what you are looking for.

Will this battery fit in HK500? Any modification?
 Pedrochu 10 points
Esta bateria entra perfectamente en el Hk500

 Dragevo 606 points
I believe he said that it's a perfect fit..
 Adam939 12 points
Fits perfectly, but is weak (only for learning to fly). Maximum engine power can not be greater than 1400Watt = (60A on 6s) if you use the engine for example: I use Aalign 500MX (1650W = 70A on 6s) with battery 3700mAh 25C = 92.5 A. and after the flight battery is warm (40 * C)

Warning when ordering this battery, dimensions list the length at 111mm but the one I received was 134mm in length and thinner all round making it useless for the application I intended it for.
ChristianP  127 points - 8/16/2011

I plan to get a set up where the maximum draw will be 73 amps and was wondering if this is a suitable battery. 20 C times 3Ah gives 60 amps and I know there should be some marginal which should be covered by the burst value of 30 C for this pack. Any opinions?
 Realistic 3 points
Best use a higher rating so the battery don't get heat up easily. Unless you are sure that your maximum current draw is only a few seconds, you will be much better with a higher c rating cell as the burst is not for continuous current drawing at that level
 Ridzuan Shah 5 points
don wori...i use on heli with 80A ESC...idle throtthe 85pcnt...lipo can withstand.if u ever over drain it it will puff but it will shrink bac to normal once the tempreature is normal.u get value for money but sacrifice power.flight time the same wit higher C lipo.73A max draw is nothing to this lipo's capability...

how many amps can these be charged at?

I want to use them supply the 90 mm EDF ( F86 sabre - fly fly ) and the calculated power consumption is 60-70 Amps. Can this pack supply the calculated Amperage without any damage?

BR,
J.
 mariano2cv 18 points
Hi friend for you to choose a lipo should always calculate a 30 extra. For example if you need 60amp discharge should buy a 30C 3000mAh lipo. IF you choose bearing in mind that their batteries last much longer because you is not stretched to the limit. Greetings
 frankyboy 36 points
its nt for the motor it is for servo and reciver
 AdrenaCo 136 points
No, I think you would be pushing it over it's limits as 20C x 3000Mah equals 60A. Choose a battery that can safely provide 70A and you should be safe.
 xnalpf 57 points
No. It can cope 60A max. (3Ah *20C) but this is really the max. rating and for safety you should add at last 20 of the desired current. So you need a Pack that can handle 70A 14A buffer => 84A. So it's either 4,2Ah at 20C or (better) 3Ah at ~30C. But i would even suggest to use a 40C Pack.
 Sp1k3 55 points
If you multiply 3Ah times 20 (which is that maximmum output current rating), you will achieve 60A. I would not reccomend this current rating for this application. You should at least have a 30C for this.
 HellyFlyer 1257 points
Yes you may please see this site for better explanaiton. www.link
 nemoskull 49 points
it is possible, but not likely. 3000 mAh pack is a 3 amp pack. 20C means the number of amps it can safely putout, I.E. 3 amp X 20 = 60 amps. But due to variations in climate and locations, this pack may put out less under certain conditions, such as in very low temperatures. short answer: No, it will damage. try this one www.link its good for at least 100 amps and can even supply up to 150 for short times. in stock in USA wareho
 dwvabeach 66 points
The formula for calculating pack capacity is C rating x mAh capacity /1000 some wiggle room. This pack is a 20C x 3000 mAh = 60 Amps capable. However if you want you packs to last a good long time, you would want some extra wiggle room. A lot of people like to use the 80 rule, where they only use 80 of the pack's capacity and capability. This pack would be running at or above its capability. You would want to either get a slightly higher C rated pack (30C) or a slightly bigger pack (400
 vasy1 607 points
You are pushing it and that is never a good idea. To balance the plane you need 4000-5000 mah lipo anyway and in 20C that will fly it ok. Better to carry extra mah then lead in the nose. With just a 3000 your flight times will be limited to take off 2 circles and landing :) (well, close to that) I fly that plane on 4000 and get around 4 minutes. Still had to add some weight to the front.
 alloba 22 points
Hi, if you have 60-70Amps of consumption, the recommended values are at least 15 more battery supply in continuos mode to not damage the pack. Regards
 stampede_dude 54 points
20C constant multiplied by 3000mah equals a safe constant discharge rate of 60 amps. The pack has a burst discharge rate of 30C, which is 90 amps, but that is only for a short period of time. To be safe, I would go with a pack that has the same mAh rating and a higher constant discharge rate.
 Gaijin 8 points
20c is right on the low end of the limit (60Amps), try a 30 C battery to be safe
 jason 9 points
yes 20 will give you max burst of 120 amps. you will be safe!
 robert14 40 points
3000Mah 20C is 60Amps, it's on the edge and not good for your lipo life. I would look for an 30C version *)
 madgadget 12 points
Yes however your consumption is calculated and if a bearing is bad or some other unknown you could easily double that and the pack would still perform but for much less time. May I suggest turning the esc cutoff voltage to 3.2 and utilize a wattmeter to get actual consumption. Very little chance of hurting anything under those conditions.
 Sansan 77 points
I used those on test stand (2x3Sx3000) with 90 edf will not advise them 'cose packs get worm shortly and the V drops to 19.5v - better use turnigy nano or higher C-rate
 gilles 8 points
Hello, i use the same lipo on a mirage 2000 with a quanum brushless. with 58-60 amps it's ok, but i take care to not fly 100 more than 30-45 seconds. i had tested a 2650mAh, but i got power cut's during the fly, probably because the esc detected some low voltage. It vould be better that you chose >3500 mAh 20c or 3000 30,40c.
 edfgoofy 32 points
That current is ok for prop 3D/F3A use but maybe tad more for EDF. My FF Sabre goes now two year old 20C/3600mAh and better with 40C/3600mAh. Difference is audible.
 Knopke 15 points
I think 30C will be the better choice...
 Fernando 8 points
they will not lat much at that consumption but very mcuh depends on the peaks, 3000 ma 20c ae 60A
 __1jcd 6 points
they will work with alot of throttle management no wide open throttle for more than 15sec. the discharge rate of that batt is 20c that means 20x capacity, capacity is 3000mah or 3.0ah so 20x3=60amps continuous a better batt would be a 3000mah 30c pack that would be 30x3=90amps continuous, more c rating = longer batt life and better sustained voltage which is the key

Does this battery at 111x47x45 fit the Align T-rex 500 canopy?
 cookci 14 points
I needed to trim the frame a little.

I cut the frame the look like the version 2 frame and it fits perfectly.
 David 1 points
Yep, But it is a very tight squeeze, unless you reduce the frame a little.

ALign have reduced the frame size on the new models so I just copied this to cut down mine.

Cheers
 XxBonesXx 9 points
it fit for me but real tight fit and wears on battery after a few flights
 helijonas 9 points
Yes they will fit. With best regards, Jonas.
 Knopke 15 points
I think it would be to heave to reach correct c.g. The Turnigy 6s 2650 fits perfectly
 Stumpe 15 points
Fits fine in mine, but u just need to adjust the batt to get the cog right, good flight times as just a while longer then the 2650s
UH-1H  191 points - 10/3/2009

OMG, this is same price as the 2650mah ones!!! I cant believe i bought 3 of the 2650 series thinking that the 3000 might not fit the T-rex 500 canopy!!..All pls take note. it does fit!
huangteng  25 points - 9/20/2009

Not sure if the dimensions are as stated, but is it possible to have 2 of them side-by-side to fit in a Trex 600?
 Marco 5 points
i fly with t-rex 600 with battery mounted side on side. If you fly with head speed at abot 1800 , you can pilot for abouty 8 minutes
wbplomp  8 points - 7/31/2009

To my surprise the dimensions/size of this battery pack has changed. I already had three of those and they fit my T-Rex 500. But now I have received a new one I noticed that is way shorter and thicker that before. So be aware of that. Have not flown the new dimension, because it does not fit right.
Russ  36 points - 7/21/2009

Got my packs. They are great but the connectors were on backwards! On all 4 that I ordered. These bullet connectors work GREAT, but only if installed properly. They had the bullet (male) connector ends in the small hole, and the female connectors in the large hole. This is BACKWARDS!!! Should be the other way around otherwise it is very difficult to use these plugs.
 rocketscience 319 points
Did you put it in a trex500 or similar heli? If so, did the dimensions in fact change so that you can't put canopy on without modification?
 AlvaroSpain1971 224 points
I put them in a SJM430 (500 series) heli, intead of the thickness, it suit alright with the canopy
Russ  36 points - 6/26/2009

Any word on these? I ordered 10 days ago. Any ETA on these packs?

Thanks

I ordered one 5 days ago, and the status still says "Processing"...
The "Stock" number is going down, but mine is still not shipped..Why??
 vasikn 54 points
This processing takes them sometimes quite a long time... But if you have in your ivoice written at this item "reserved" you don't have to worry. Even if their amount went below zero, yours would be reserved and going to be sent as sooon as they put it into the package. Number is decreasing just by "reserving" of them, not by shipping out*-)

Let me know anywhere else in the world you can find QUALITY batteries this cheap. You can't, just be patient. *)

This was my first purchase with Hobby King. The shipment to the US was wicked fast!!! Big thank you!! I used these lipo's in my T-Rex 500. 7 minute flights left me with 25pcnt residual left over. The batteries came down just a notch above the cool side, not hot at all. I am running 100pcnt throttle on a flat curve. Mild sport flying with hovering. I will get some more of these, they are AWESOME!!!! The batteries arrived well packaged an

I am getting 7 min of 90pcnt idle up. This batt. works PERFECT for the 500. Plenty of power for 3D and if your a NUB then this Battery should get about 10 min or more of simple hovering.. Remember you need a charger that has more than 50W of output other wise your charging a 2.2amps even if your charger says 5amps. I went with the 106Bplus It has 250 watss. so I can charge at 2C if I am in a pinch... BUT NOT RECOMENDED!
