dopo tre minuti di volo con elica 8x4 motore bruciato qualcuno sa dirmi perchè*?
vitorsabadin  22 points - 1/29/2013

Got this motor in the 3d Hawk80 kit from HK. Mounted with a Turnigy 20A ESC and 2S lipo 1.200mA. During testing without propeller works ok, but once I mount servo saver and the 8x5 propeller, you activate the throttle and you listen tic, tic, tic, tic, and nothing else..... Not even start speening!!!! What am I doing whrong? Tryed reprogram ESC, testes with 3S Lipo..... Nothing... Can some help me???
 __bare 713 points
can you easily spin the propellor by hand? If not something is jamming the motor, remove the circlip Slide the bell off and look for stuff stuck to the magnets?
 vitorsabadin 22 points
Hi Bare, thanks for trying, but yes, I can spin by hand, actually it spins freelly when the propeller in not attached and there are noting in the magnets....
 HKusp 3 points
Vitorsabadin I'm having the same problem, have you got yours working.
 __bare 713 points
IF.. the motor is clear and spins properly sans propellor OR propellor adaptor? Perhaps the adaptor needs looking at for interference problems? Failing that, try another ESC
 vitorsabadin 22 points
No solution with this motor, I got a turnigy motor and now it is working very well. Tried 2 ESCs, same issue....
 __bare 713 points
Prebroken? Shame, as these are usually far better motors than the Turnigy ones. Luck of the draw perhaps
 Molder 5 points
This situation can be if one of three wire is broke. Check this before trying do something else.

My mount was broken. Please tell me a compatible another mount.

Ha that motor mount shown in picture, is that wood or plastic??. I have only seen aluminium.
 SMPRC 103 points
The motor comes with a laser-cut, plywood mount. The photo is accurate. HTH.

 Kellyann 16227 points
SMPRC Oh so how does that work???
 SMPRC 103 points
Please rephrase your question to be more specific. It's the same as the usual aluminum X-mount as provided with the larger outrunner motors except wood. Probably has good 'break-away' qualities to help save the motor in case of a crash.
 Kellyann 16227 points
SMPRC well I did not need to rephrase. You hit the nail on the head. So it does break AWAY? I like aluminum X mounts. I use a Prop savers (well shaft savers). But thanks.
 SMPRC 103 points
Prop savers are good for just that: saving props, not motors. Clearly it's almost impossible to design the perfect 'motor saver' mount (most motors cost more than props, correct?) but I'd say using thin ply should give up before metal. I'll not be using this mount with my ADH300L due to the location in the model.

I have just burnt my motor out. What can I do is it in the bin for it or can it be fixed?
 Kellyann 16227 points
Delst well it is like this it will not be ever as good as it was but it can be rewound. You can down load the wire pattern from the internet. Give it a go this is a good little motor. I hope this helps.
 DelSt 112 points
So I can rewind it. But I have the wire pattern but I checked the price of the wire and find it is cheaper to but a new motor that to buy the wire. Does anyone know where I can get wire cheap or free?
 Kellyann 16227 points
Delst yes I do know what you mean. It is not worth spending more money, than a motor costs. I use the wire in old CRT monitors. All monitors have a wind of wire wrapped in tape around the outer edge. It does work. I hope this helps

Of course it helps, as do all the other questions Delst has asked and you answered to get 20 cents Kellyann
 __bare 713 points
Ooooh Please! Buy some decent quality wire of the Correct/appropriate gauge (local Electronics Supply House) and rewind it carefully... lots of info on how IF you look. I do this on Most All of my Hobby King motors without ever running vthem beforehand. (they need it *-) Major improvements in running performances result Even IF you don't rewind for a different KV.
 Kellyann 16227 points
__bare I find it hard to wind as many time as the factory?? They pack it in. For light motor CRT wire works well. Yes there is a drop in performance. But it is a cheap quick fix. Still am not able to wind as tight. I even bought wire and still was no easier. BUT thanks!!
 __bare 713 points
Odd that Even poor abused recycled wire (Why?? As good quality wire is V cheap to buy New) should give far better than the horrible quality 'factory' wind efforts. Recycled wire is risky as it can /does have unseen damage. IF you cannot get the wire on neatly and accurately? Then perhaps you really should not be doing rewinding :-)
 waterlogged 2701 points
Maybe the good wire is expensive in India Bare. Ignore the fact Kellyann says she's from Australia He's actually from India and no that wasn't a typo she's a he from West Bengal. He has a bunch of at least 6 bogus accounts which he uses to ask dumb questions and then switches accounts to give an equally dumb answer and gets 20 cents a time. Sally, DelSt, Allison, Chris, Sharron and Bacter. All scamming accounts. watch out for his lies he will come on as a poor battered and abused little girl. He couldn't lie straight in bed. He even posted as a female he wished he had a wife, big mnistake and even tried to pass himself off as an HK employee. Be careful and let your mates know.

Does this motor perform on 2s? And how many amps does it draw on 2s? I'll be flying a 200g plane.
UniseV  17 points - 4/16/2012

Will this motor be able to pull my cessna (weight:450gr)?

I already have a 25A ESC and many 3S/1300mAh batteries.

When is the motor coming back? Too long on backorder.

BURNT OUT MY MOTOR!! It worked fine on 9x4.7sf prop 350 3s 15c and 620 3s 15c, but when I upgraded to a 850 3s 25c the motor BURNT OUT in less than 30 seconds. This motor will work great on 2s but not 3s with a 9x4.7sf.
 __bare 713 points
Erm How surprising
 Michael 28 points
I got this motor with the 3d hawk and have had many flights on 1050 30c 3s rhino packs and 9X5 gws props and still going strong. It is important to use flexible glue to brace the wires down at the motor mount and stator. Plane hovers at just over half throttle.

Is it possible to reverse the mount ing on this motor?
 ekajoe 38 points
Actually, what you do is reverse the shaft so that it sticks out of the end with the mounting screw holes. You loosen the set screws, then push the shaft out (a drill press works well for this) the other end. Hope this www.link
 fordfm 61 points
Yes. This possible. Shaft may be reverse.

How much pull is the maximum on 2S with max. 8A? And with which prop? I*d like to use it in a 1,5m HLG.
 Rus 11 27 points
This is a small motor, I think it is too small for your demands

 Modellights 15 points
Small but 170W max. 8*8 is only around 64W.. Looks like they're talking 8x4 prop. I got two on the last order, only tested a little but they seem fine on 3S.

Bought this as the Kinetic 800 replacement motor was not available. Alas the motor is mounted reverse to what it needs to be for the Kinetic/Merlin.

Very good motor! Prop GWS 8x4 3s-610mAh, with flying time about 6 minute. The punch is higher when using 30C

I bought 2, used one to replace a geared 5:1 brushed 280, the other to replace a geared 5:1 brushed 370. This motor is about half the weight of the motors ithey replaced. Used a 25 amp brushless esc (I already had them) This motor likes 3s with a 9.47sf prop the best about 7000rpm, 120 watts about 21 oz thrust. 3s 10.47sf prop about 5000 rpm, 155 watts, 20 oz thrust and gets a bit too hot (for me). Mine had the second e-ring grove so I could put the shaft out the other side. Support the hub near the shaft when pressing out the shaft or you will have to get 2 small v block and a dial indicator to straighten the bell.

I have put given motor ADH300L Brushless Outrunner 1100kv on Kinetic 600. The axis has been turned concerning regular position. It is necessary to pierce deepening in an axis under the screw a fixing rotor.
Holes have approached ideally. Flies Kinetic with this motor very well, draft suffices for launch vertically upwards.
The controler 18A is heated with the given motor, I have put turnigy 30А, it isn't heated
