Transforming a 5S into a 3S : Is it possible ? Open the bat and disconnect 2 cells ? Is it a good idea? All my ESC's accept 3S bat's at the most. That's the reason... Has anybody tried this ?
Yes it is possible. But you must be careful with the cells,so you don't damage them, you altso must remove wires from balance connector. It's better to bye 3S,if your esc's and motors only acsept this,or bye other ESC taht can take more cells.

I testflew one in my funjet yesterday. And I was really surprised but not positive! With this battery it was mauch slower then with my turnigy 2200 30c 5s pack. (My setup: 3648 1450kv 7x6 100A dlux esc) Now the question does it realy increase power after a few cycles? would it make sence to solder on thicker wires? whats your experience? Thanks will credit
cycling them definitely helps and thicker wire would help the flow of power. It also matters on the temps out side. If it is very cold they will perform better after they have been pushed hard and warm up a bit. Here they are in my scratch built EPP Bullet Plane on a cold day around 38F deg.
I understand what it means, I have not seen that charge rating on anything other than the Hyperion "hybrid" lipos. They are a completely different chemistry that will tolerate such a charge rate. Traditional lipos will puff and eventually die off with such a high charge rate.
haha dont know how they do it but it works :) mine dont puff at all i use 5 of them and so far after a year they all still work fine pushing my bae hak around the skies :) all i know it they work :) with out even getting hot
it means you can charge it at 5C of the MHA, if it was 1C you can charge it up to 2.6A when its 5C you actually can charge it at 13.25A which is much faster...
Charge rate is determined by battery resistance. These new 40c batteries have very low resistance. Think of it like a door, 10c discharge have a front door, 40c have a barn door. Because the door is so big you can discharge and charge at 40c and 5c rates.

Performance of this battery pack is good and no different from other brands. In this case the lower prices make a different. Will consider upgrading to higher capacity or purchase another unit to enjoy a longer flight duration, thank you Hobbycity...
