Turnigy™ TG9e Eco Micro Servo 1.5kg / 0.10sec / 9g

Turnigy™ TG9e Eco Micro Servo 1.5kg / 0.10sec / 9g
Turnigy™ TG9e Eco Micro Servo 1.5kg / 0.10sec / 9g

The TG9e boasts the same performance as other servo's 10x the price with a .10sec travel time and up to 1.5kg in torque and an ultra narrow dead bandwidth!
The TG9e performance is on par with the famous HXT900, however the TG9e isn't as resistant to crashes or over-loading.
Please always ensure your control surfaces are bind free.
Dimension: 23x12.2x29mm
Torque: 1.5kg/cm (4.8V)
Operating speed: 0.10sec/60 degree 0.09sec/60 degree(6.0V)
Operating voltage: 4.8V
Temperature range: 0-55C
Dead band-width: 7us
Lead Length: 260mm
The TG9e does not have the same strength and longevity as the HXT900.
Please ensure your control surfaces are bind-free and always check servos after a hard landing or crash!

OK is this an analog or digital servo, and how can I use this with arduino
 skyfox60 1268 points
It is analog. For positioning, you need a positive pulse ( rectangle ) between 1000 and 2000µ*S. Middle position is at aound 1520µ*S. Hope that helps.

Awesome! Thanks, that is all I needed to know I am working on a project for school and am using a computer to control it. (I awarded you credit) :)

Hi Drek, first of all, thanks for presseing the button. BUT, I forgot to tell you a very important detail, sorry. Please be aware, that due to the fact that this servo is analog, these 1 to 2 mS long pulses may be at a frequency of at least 50 to 60Hz only. So please prepare the programming of the arduino in a way that after each pulse, you have a pause time of about 20mS ( 20.000µ*S ). If the pause time is shorter, your servo amplifier will burn!!!! If you ever take a digital servo, you may use higher frequencies also, They use higher pulse frequencies up to 250 or in some cases 333Hz. Analog servos use 50Hz, and can withstand 70Hz in some cases.

its a really great one used by me its amazing one and powerful

Is perfect , these servos for planes small
Shaunak  1 points - 10/1/2015
Are these servos powerful for and small plane
 Charles 16 points
Absolutely, Shaunak. I use them almost exclusively for my FliteTest scratch builds, and even on the high-speed Viggen or the heavy Storch, these servos have performed beautifully. I probably own a dozen or more now, and have given as many away to friends. The only failures I've experienced have been due to catastrophic crashes.

57 thumbs up!
It's similar but not the exact same as the HXT900, however I think the gears should be interchangable. I checked the current draws on 5v: idle, about 10ma, freely moving full swing or with a little resistance, about 100-200ma, and stalled, 600ma. Also, dunno why they call it a 9g servo- it's right around 12 grams, but that's no problem, should be listed as that. Fairly precise, nothing special. However, if you need a cheap servo, this is the one.

30 thumbs up!
It looks like the HXT900, has the same size but is a clone of the HXT900. The precision is a little bit lower than the HXT900, but still good enough. I like the longer wires. It seems that this servo is a bargain buy, but we still do not know what they'll do after hundrets of flights. I'll give 5 stars for now.

This servoe is exactly same as Tower Pro SG90.
The plastic case is exactly same, if remove the stickers, you may not be able to point any different.
I opened them the electronic circuit board is exactly same as well with same motor same cable with same length.
I have replaced the gears and no problem.
Even the QC and test stickers inside and out side are same and in the same area.
The Tower Pro SG90 is very strong and long life servo.

12 thumbs up!
Installed in cub, beside the TG9, and this one noticably faster... had to replace the TG9 with another 9e. Not sure if I would put this in a high torque demanding application, but for most planes this is perfect, cheap and fast!

9 thumbs up!
I have used this on a home built rafale eurofighter profile plane made from depron foam. I just noticed comparing it to the HXT900 9g (which I also have), its a tad slower. The specs on this turnigy TG9e does say 0.10 sec while the HXT is .12sec. I bought only 2 of these since this is the cheapest servo I could find at the time of my purchase. I suppose this servo can be an indispensible on or a disposable one depending on how you would use it. For me, it served the purpose as tailerons. Quality wise, it does not look any different with the HXT 900 9g. A millimeter difference based on the tech. specs. and it pulls 1.5kg instead of 1.6kg for the HXT900. If you are looking for a cheap servo, this is it. LHS will offer this at a ridiculous 3 times price. I would like to support my LHS but at the price hobbyking is offering these, makes me think twice. I can order spare parts and even with the shipping costs, it will still be cheaper with hobbyking. They just slam the competition if not all, most of the spare parts/planes/heli on LHS.
