can i use it for a tricopter or it is very weak???

This is the most pathetic and disgusting servo i have ever used.Do not go for it please. The movement is very shaky and trembling. The gears are uneven and irregular in shape.
 simon.castle 611 points
n-nikem if the gears are so bad could you upload a picture for us all to see, is it just 1 servo, did you get more than one, is it all of them. I just received 2 and Im very happy with them. Also your half amp stated below looks more like the stall current, mine dont pull much at all without load. May be you just have bad ones. or they fixed the problems.
skidan  27 points - 2/24/2015

Could you check how much ampers get this servo? thanks.
 n-nike 108 points
It takes approximately 0.45 amps when nothing is connected to it and when tested with a servo tester.
 Stephen 3 points
I test negligible current draw at idle and 0.55A at high load. (5V operating voltage)

Hi, What's the length of servo wires on these?
 n-nike 108 points
Rahul,it is 180mm.

i love them but your right the controllers have changed . heres what i do though
take the bottom half of an old blue hxt9000 and take the metal gear from this servo and you have a great strong servo

Is anyone else as disappointed with the performance of these servo's as I am since they "upgraded" to digital. My old analog is still going strong after a year, but these new ones are ****. Back to the drawing board.
 simon.castle 611 points
Ah this is bad, they killed the hxt900 for me and now this. This is really bad.
 simon.castle 611 points
What is wrong with the new ones, what is your experience ?

OK, despite the warnings above, I went and ordered 2 of these just to see for myself. The 2 I have received 4th May 2015 work very well, they have a better holding torque than the analogue version and center better too, so for me I will continue to use them. I wanted to check the overshoot but missed it, will try and report back.
 simon.castle 611 points
Just want to confirm that there is now NO over run on the digital version as there was with the old analogue one.

I am having good luck with the new version as well!!

Cheap metal servo, but it seem not precise. I can not setup the neutral position for my HK 450 blade pitch.

If you dont like the smell of burnt carbon brushes, DO NOT USE THEM ON 6V! And look what ive discovered. This servo has the same size gear set with hextronik 900 micros. I placed the gears to my 900s and they are working flawlesly now, more precise, faster and i can use them on 6 volts. The only differance cap part is a little high to accept a bearing, so you have to cahange it too. Believe me, you will like the blue black servos, try it...

Tried 2 of these servos in an Electrifly EP-Su31, elevator, and rudder, works ok, but.... too much play in the gears. When you move the horn with your fingers, there is a noticeable amount of play in the geartrain. Also, very noisy operation.
Good price, appear to be digital, but I wouldn't use them in my heli because of this.
Will be changing them out of the aircraft for the HXT 900.

Just got 3 of 'em and shortly tested them. They have on one side a terrible overshoot during fast movements! Be aware of that!
The rest seems ok at a short look.
