I just bought a traxxas funny car roller I need something that will be better than the castle 2400kv motor that was in it it is a 1/8 scale car the motor that was in it had a 36mm x68mm brushless what do you have in a motor esc combo that will kick ass I want 80 plus mph
 ROGER RAMJET 53 points
THIS SYSTEM WILL RUN UP TO 6 CELL FOR MORE SPEED USE A 22 TOOTH PINION IT SHOULD GET YOU OVER A 100 MPH YA IM NOT KIDDING .

would this work on my truggy
 Sam 14 points
I would say yes but it depends on the motor mount on the truggy. The motor is much larger than on my 1/8 truggy.
 ROGER RAMJET 53 points
YES IT WILL YOU CAN RUN 4 TO 6 CELL AND I WOULD GO WITH A 14 TOOTH PINION

Can I put this motor in a 1/10 scale car?
 Gixxer410 28 points
Depends on the car but i would highly recommend getting a combo that is better suited for your car. Something in a 120A esc and a 540 or 550 size motor around 3300 to 4000 kv would be perfect. Good chance this 2000kv combo would shred your drive line. 1/10 cars are not built to handle this combo.
 Sam 14 points
I personally purchased this 1/8 brushless combo and installed it into a 1/10th gas(converted to electric) monster truck. When running on 6 cell it grenaded the gears in the trans. The torque from this system will destroy 1/10 drivelines when pushed to the max.
 Gixxer410 28 points
That's why I said depends on the car. I have this combo in a 1/10 revo, but monster trucks are different than let say a 1/10 drifter. He didn't specify what kind of car it was going in. Put this combo in a sc10 or 1/10 buggy its gonna be heavy and really hard on the car. Like I said, depends on the car.
 Sam 14 points
I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was only adding my personal experience to help with Nicholas' question and adding to what you said about shreading the driveline. It is a great system.. he should choose wisely.

the more I run this, and the more I play with other 8th scale motor/esc setups, the more respect I have for this great 8th scale package. but on 6s it will tear up a revo tranny* I had to go to expensive robinson racing gears. well maybe my slipper was a tiny bit too tight....
 Sam 14 points
I know what you mean. I destroyed the trans in my Associated MMGT when I converted it from gas to this brushless system on 6s. It is an absolute animal of a system.

1 thumbs up!
I used this in my TNX5.2r as a replacement for the stock nitro engine. Took a E-Revo tranny and im running 21T pinion on the stock tranny spur gear. I've run this for close to 7 months now and i've not had any problems with it. Running on 4s lipo and the engine has no problems with this lipo setup. Grate ECS with plenty of programming options using the programming card. The only downside i can see is if you run the engine above 4s.

1 thumbs up!
I have run a castle creations mamba monster. I'll say right now this setup makes CC it's bitch. and it costs half as much money. I used to be a loyal CC customer until i spent 300$ for a 1/8 scale mamba monster system . I used to buy CC because they advertise heavily MADE IN USA and I try to show some loyalty to the local manufacturers. My mamba system had made in China all over it. Turnigy stuff rocks and works good as any brand I have ever used

One more thing to add. I am running Turnigy ESC's motors and batteries in aircraft, helis, cars, and boats. Their quality is second to none and nobody touches their price. I have seen people complain about turnigy stuff and usually they under engineered their system. I have no complaints about this company except harshly marked up shipping costs. If they got that straightened out I would use them as my main source.

Running this in a stock Traxxas E-Maxx #3905. Excellent power. Running with 2x2S Rhino, for a total of 4S (14,8v). Insane power! No heat issues!

Highly recommended!!
