Were to buy RF module For Turnigy 9X pro Transmiter
 handyjap 760 points
I have to admit that I have not seen a Turnigy 9X Pro yet, only 9XR Pro. I use the "Turnigy DSSS 2.4Ghz Transmitter Module For 9XR / 9XR Pro (JR Configuration)" PRODUCT ID: 9171000547-0. This is if you want to use the receivers that come with this radio which is the "Turnigy 9X 2.4GHz 8Ch Receiver (V2)" PRODUCT ID: RX-9X8Cv2 or even the "Hobby King 2.4Ghz Receiver 6Ch V2" PRODUCT ID: HK-T6A-V2. You can do better with OrangeRX module and receivers or even much better with FrSky module and receivers (BUT with a external antenna at the back on the module OR a reconfigure/change/butcher job on the module to get to the internal antenna of the 9XR or 9XR Pro).

For me bettest choice is FrSky DJT module for JR in combination with any of frsky ACSST protocol receivers: D series - telemetry ones, V8 non telemetry ones. And you will get real long range and stable system. Do not try to save on TXmodule / RX ... signal loss and lost model or crash will costs much more.

Does anyone know how to set the left-most potentiometer to an aux channel? I did it on the second and right-most. But i can't do it for the left-most... Thank you!

Hi Guys, Please help! - I am unable to bind my Turnigy 9x transmitter to the receiver. I have followed some guides online but the led on the receiver just continues to flash rather than being a solid light. I have tried plugging the bind cable into both 'batt' & 'bind' on the receiver & having an esc plugged into the receiver for power ...then I press & hold the bind button on the back of the transmitter whilst I turn it on. No joy, please help!

I once had a transmitter with a bad antenna cable connection in the module. Everything looked fine until a closer look revealed that I had a bad/intermittent earth connection. Luckily I could just touch it with a soldering iron and the problem was fixed. I think in my case was because I used the controller for flight sims and every time had to remove the module.

Hello Guys, I am not sure whether this is a stupid question or not - but I am fed up of having to wait for the receiver for this radio to be in stock and if im completely honest, how expensive they are SO! I was wondering if anyone knew if you can pair this radio with any other receiver (other than the Turnigy 9X 2.4GHz 8Ch Receiver (V2) ) Any help would be appreciated, Cheers

Absolute score mate! Any recommendations with regard to a good FlySky receiver?
 v_max 5559 points
Just choose one according number of required channels... Compatible are FlySky FS-R8B (same as turnigy one) , HK-T6A-V2 , HK GT2-R. But my advice do not waste money on this j u n k. The problems are : 1 - low range (as result of low qu***ty of TX module) , 2 no CPPM capable receivers, 3- no failsafe recivers, 4 - Huge big and heavy rxes... UPGRADE you t9x with FRSKY DJT tx module and choose any of FRsky D or v8 receivers ( ACSST rxes)... And you will have real stable and interference free long range.. As well as you can choose rx with cppm, failsafe and rssi.. much lighter and smaller... My favorite one is frsky d4r-ii

Cheers Guys! very much appreciated!

Hello v_max. Just so I'm clear on this, you would recommend the 9x 9Ch Transmitter and use the FrSky DJT 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR w/ Telemetry Module & V8FR-II RX. Ditch the included RF9X-V2 module because of limited range performance, and use the combo packs V8FR-II RX 8-channel receiver. And this should interface with a Naze32 Rev6 flight controller board? Thanks for the info. This is all new to me.

My advice use Turnigy 9X transmitter but get rid of stock Tx module and RX. Replace it with FrSky DJT tx module and one of V8 or D series frsky receivers (by first letter in rx name)... As for combo, included V8FR-II rx for me it's not BEST choice. First V8 is non telemetry series so you wouldn't have RSSI out on RX... For telemetry ones choose D series frsky rxes.. Second it do not have CPPM out... My favorite choice rx is D4R-II which is 4 ch in PWM mode but in CPPM mode have full 8ch cppm out. Note d4r-ii requires reflashing with 27ms firmware to have safe full 8ch cppm. with stock 18ms firmware it do not leave enough room for synchropause when all 8ch are near max values... Without reflashing only 6ch is safe to use (remaining 2 ch must be set to minimum values)..

14 thumbs up!
I am using an ASSAN hacker modulewith the 9X Tx.
With no recievers available I hooked up the Hacker as follows:
1- Top Pin signal
2- no connection
3- Red plus
4- Black -
5- no connection.

You can see photo's at www.link only gave it 4 stars as the TX did not work as recieved, one of the wires to the dual rate switch was not connected, an easy fix.

9 thumbs up!
I'd give this radio a 5 star rating but there are a few minor things that subtract points.
-One is that putting the batteries is a hassle, the 8 AA cell holder is OK, but the cable gets on the way of the cover and it takes a while to be able to close it, there's a lot of pinching of the cables involved so I shouldn't wonder if the insulation fails sooner or later requiring a replacement of the cables.
-Second is the very annoying and loud BEEEEP!!! you get with every-single-click you do on the buttons, seriously stressing to set up the radio at home, not good for conjugal life. To fix that I cut the leg that goes from a transistor to the speaker and added a 220 Ohm resistor in between.
-Third, no manual comes with the radio.
-Fourth setting up a V-Tail was a mind bending affair, I succeeded but I couldn't grok the logic of the procedure.

Besides those things it's a good product.

I purchased this transmitter & Assan XJ8 module from HC. First I got around the switch error bug (thanks to that reviewer)
For me the Assan XJ8 just flashes red once on start up, but gives no steady red LED & will not go into pairing mode.
Assan say they don't know the problem & suggest putting XJ8 in another TX (I don't have one)
Anyone know how to test if TGY 9X or Assan is the problem? Thanks

Great range - over 3000m, but realy to big receiver. Also dont like to small battery compartment, and antenna linked with wire.
You Also can't mix with AUX cahnnels - you can oly mix first 4 cahnells. No manual - It could be at least link at this product to download manual for Turnigy 9x. Also don,t like that this transsmiter in almost never in stock, or that there smaller 6 ch receivers I waiting for more 3 months So from me only 3 stars.
