Tired of all those electric planes infesting your local club?
Do you think flying electric R/C planes is the equivilent of watching Driving Miss Daisy on valium?
If so, then Four-stroke glow powered engines should be ticking all the right boxes! And there is nothing like the smell or sound of a 4-stroke glow powered plane thundering through the sky.
Fly to the sound of your very own 4-stroke glow powered symphony and bully those little electrics off the airstrip!

Bom motor. Nunca apagou em voo e estou satisfeito com o desempenho em meu stick 60.
Recomendo pelo bom custo e excelente benefí*cio.

hello I have a corsair of phoenixmodel the rebound 46-55 or 52-70 4-stroke engine recommended, its weight is 2800kg to 3200kg and seen who speak well of obio asp is not you but as you say price relationship, my question is the privateer carries much weight in the nose to bring it to the point where the center of gravity would combeniente put a 91 4-stroke engine, the other question is I use 3 blade propeller and being so serious tronpudo combeniente prop used to measure for this 61 asp 4 stroke.
waiting for your reply if anyone has used this plane I could tell the less the weight carried in the nose.
I await your response thanks a great greetings
pd: sorry my English is not very good
ASP are known for good value and quality. Not the best like OS or Saito but still quite good. I would use the .61 in your model if a 51-70 4 stroke is recommended. A 90 size engine will give torque roll, high fuel use and nose heavy tendencies. I would stick with .61 and 12x6 or 12x7 2-blade prop. Three blade props are not as efficient and only look good on the ground.
I use 15% nitro and 18% oil in all 6 of these engines I have, they all run GREAT! More nitro is more power plus more heat. High oil content might foul the glow plug and leave more exaust deposits.
Gran motor nada que enviarle a un motor de marca, lo uso en un mustang de great planes con una pala 15x5, hasta la fecha me da muy buenos resultados, tengo dos , un gran motor a un gran precio
you probably want a 72 or a saito 82, because they use the same mount as a 46-55... i ran into this trouble when i tried to put a 91 on a showtime 50.. i would need bigger mount and then redo the blind nuts in the fire wall to mount it.. witch the formers were in the way..
thumbs up if this helps
For sure you can use this engine, I have one of these about 2 years which was mounted on 46 size planes with no problems , the best prop is 13x7/8 for speed, great engine never let me down , never had any issues , reliable , also had the 120,52 four strokes , all ASP four strokes that I owned are just great engines , no need to spend lots of cash on Japanese brands!!!
tested this motor from a friend with the glow head ASP GP-1 is 2C & 4 C with 15% Nitro fuel and 20% made **a break of six tanks of 12 OZ between low and medium speed with a propeller 13 x Master 6, and when we made the first flights without abusing the acceleration of six flights, forward regulate the carburetor again, and we're still flying, and with Nitro fuel is the tendency of the engine to run cooler.
If we compare this engine with another brand, we will have differences, I believe that bad using a good fuel, Glow Head, and Props, this engine should have a good durability.
I really liked the engine that later this month I will be buying another for my SIG Four Star 60

Thanks Gavin,
I am guessing that the nitro content makes for "hotter" running, but also guess that 4 stroke is cooler than 2 stroke, since there is only a combustion on every fourth stroke?
But this is only guesswork, on my part as I am new to all this!
Thanks again for your help

Thanks Gavin,
Others have said as much. I will take this advice - it would still be great to know if the OS F plug is cold, medium or hot?
Thanks for responding
Best regards
Michael O'
Want to fit this to my Cessna Cardinal 177 - I think it is a fit, and ok for power etc. Can you tell me, please - do four strokes need a "cold" "medium" or "hot" glow plug - I really am confused by this?
Many thanks
Michael O'
if i leave the crank case nipple unconnected from the nipple on the inlet manifold, what is the purpose of the inlet manifold nipple ? (ASP 91 4 stroke) ?
Hi, I do have a Piper Cherokee .40 - .46 2 stroke engine an I woul like to by a 4 stroke engine. Should i buy an ASP 61 or 91. I live at a 2600 mts altitud.
Hola santiago, la Cherokee vuela bien con .51,a esta altura, existe la opcion en ASP??, en .61 debes reforzar un poca má*s la pared de fuego, en 4T puede ser .71
Hi ALL, i have both the ASP 61 and 91 4 stroke engines the 91 has a crank case vent nipple and also a nipple on the inlet manifold .
should these be linked together ? i cant find any info on the above Question , :-(
the nipple for the crank should not be connected or clogged this is to drain excess oil from the engine you can put a piece of hose to get any oil away from crowl never make line longer than 3 inches.
If 60 is 2 stroke! Then this would be the equivalent. But I want to mention that if you have no prior experience in handling engine, having someone to assist you at the first time would save you $$$. You also need to practice dead stick landing.
Hi is there anyone out there that has a copy of the various measurements for this motor I am looking at putting it into a FLY MODEL SBACH 342 70, and want to make sure it will fit. I have looked at the manuals available how ever there are no measurements available in them
Because of the much lower revs and the physical dimensions of four stroke engines you cannot simply swap from a two stroke to a four. You need to change the gear ratios of the heli (which is difficult as most current heli manufacturers don't supply what is needed and third party components are unlikely to fit) and you need to work out a way of actually fitting the four stroke (much taller than the two stroke)in to the heli. Running the exhaust can be done by using a flexi-pipe. Bear in mind that a four stroke exhaust runs extremely hot so keep it away from plastic components. There have been several commercial four stroke helis over the years from people like Kalt and Century but they always felt unresponsive in flight compared with the two stroke and electric version. A lot depends on whether you are up to the task of making the appropriate physical changes to your heli and will be happy with the rather more 'lazy' flying characteristics of the finished result.
Has anyone tried one of these in a .90 size Heli ? I would like to try one in a TZ 90. I know the headspeed will be down a bit, but for basic sport flying maybe it would be okay? Have had a look around on youtube but not sure on what size 4 stroke they've used. Would like to know what you think.
Howzit man, I tried this exact engine out and it really didnt function to great, in terms of throttle handeling, which will all be down to the displacement of this four stroke engine.
Im thinking of putting a ACP 91 FS into a VQ p40 size 60 model. Will this be overkill?. I see you dont do a 70 or 80 FS and a 60 FS is too small. Can you advise Please.
Go four the 91 FS as this will be perfect as you have to compensate for the displacement between a 2-stroke engine and a 4-stroke engine. A 2-stroke .60 engines RPM is much higher than a 4-stroke .60 and therefor you will have to get a bigger Four Sroke to cover this. Usually a 40 2stroke = 60 4stroke, 60 2stroke = 90 4stroke, 90 2stroke = 120 4stroke. I hope thats enough to help :)
Thanks Bradley. I have ordered the 91FS. Also it'll look good as I wont need to cut the cowl as much as with a 2 stroke. So the Shark teeth will look awesome. Thanks again

I have been flying ASP 4 stroke engines for a couple of years now and never had a problem with any of them. Reliable, great horsepower and excellent value for money. You can't go wrong with ASP!

Bought 2 of these engines before, after ran-in and 6 flights, I now running them with 0pcnt nitro 20pcnt synt oils fuel. They only needed slight adjustment for new fuel. I am very happy with these engines.
I having 2 FS61 AR engines on transit and i am ordering two more of these FS91 AR for my 2.4m wingspan OV-10 Bronco.
Thanks Hobbycity your price turns me away from OS engines.
