Free credit up for grabs to the person whom can tell me what size bearings this motor takes. Just got this motor in the mail and the bearings are shot. After briefly spinning it up, the motors stiffens up and becomes harder to turn.

Does anyone know the size of the hex grub screws used to connect the 2213N 800Kv Brushless Motor to its included mount? I believe it's a 1.5 or 1.0 mm, but I don't want to buy a hex set until I know which sizes I need.

I was thinking about 2Ah battery and 6x4 props. It's going to be hexa. I have already orders those motors from ebay, so we will see how good are HobbyKing ESC on their max amperage.

If weight isn't an issue,you may consider the Plush 18amp.That way you can use 1in larger or a RD or SF prop. If your using 6 by 4 props you can use a much smaller motor. An APC 6 by 4E on 2S will only produce 2oz of thrust because of Kv rate.

Not efficient at all :/... The prop size you have to use not to toast the motor totally defeats the purpose of this motor, spinning bigger props. I ran this on 4S and some 5ish prop, and it got quite hot. Stick to 3S :P.

Marcos - The data sheet clearly states that Max Voltage (V) 11. If you have any understand of Li-po, 11.1 volts is 3C, sounds like you attitude needs some volts, eh?

George, I have a lot of motors where the specs on this page says its Max voltage is 11v, BUT i use 4S without any problem. DT750 is one example of that, it can take 4S for a long time at full power but on the specs is written Max voltage 11v.

Running three of these on an RCexplorer.se tricoptor and they have worked very well even though I have had the occasional oops moment. I thought I had bent a shaft once but the bell had shifted on the shaft, all I did was loosen the hex grub screw and wiggle the bell to more or less strait again and off it went again and has not stopped. With 3 of these on my tri i get about 6 minutes flying. Great product again!

I just received this motor and bench tested it.motor ran very smooth.with a 9-6 mas electric on 11.1 volts it drew 9.5 amps at 7100 rpm.after running for 90 seconds on the bench the motor was only slightly warm.this would be a great motor for gws war birds or Formosa and similar airplane and the price is incredible. very solid,powerful motor at an unbelievably low price.wit an 850mah 3s nano tech battery this should give incredible performance in small war birds.I will be trying a 10-4 prop when it arrives and expect this to be good for flat foamies.H.K.has done it again.another great product at a fantastic price.

I have purchased 5 of these for my quad build (with a spare), they work nicely with a 3S 2200mAh battery. However, my quad is getting rather heavy for the 3S after I mounted a GoPro, hover throttle at 61% and only 5-6 minutes flight time. I'm thinking about using 4S batteries with more capacity. With a 4500mAh 4S eCalc puts the full throttle current at 14.95A and power at 215W - is it too much for this motor? I've flown shortly with a 2200mAh 4S with no issues, but didn't go near full throttle, plenty of power at 50% :)

You should be a bit more specific. How heavy is your quad with GoPro mounted. You should weigh your quad before and after fpv mount. You didnt mention prop size as this motor work best on 10*6 prop on 3s. As for 4s I dont really see any problem with it since on a quad you dont need full throttle especially fpv.

The quad is currently at 1360g with the GoPro and 3S 2200mAh LiPo, 1170g without the camera mount. I'm using 10x6 GWS props at the moment, but I've ordered some 10x4.5 APC SF props to lower the amps a little, as well as a 4500mAh 4S nano-tech - I'll try it out keeping a close eye on motor temps.

I believe your quad is on the heavy side. 1.3kg with fpv is a bit heavy for 3s. My quad full fpv gear weigh less than 1kg, throttle at 55% hover. Flight is 8-10 minutes. Using the same motor and 10*6 prop. 10*45 has too much noise, less efficient and scares people away including me due to the noise.

I am using "Prop Saver w/ Band 3mm" www.link OK for my need but if you want more rigid connection I would recommand looking for motor with threaded shaft.

I've read that 2200mAh 3S1P is good enough to run this motor. But it doesn't say how much the discharge should be. I have a ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C, maybe the 20C is to low and could be why my ESCs are burning up? Cheers

No, your battery has a max discharge rate of 44amps, which is much higher than the max amp draw of this motor. Furthermore, if there is a problem with the C rating of the battery, it will be the battery that will get really hot and puff up, the ESC will not burn out.

Battery is fine with 20c discharge rate. If your ESC are burning up its because of the load. Loads comes from different reason. Some of them are motor load due to prop size, weight overload, bent shaft, motor friction. ESC have heatsink on them. Cut some of the heat shrink to expose the heatsink and put the ESC where there is good airflow.

Either this motor or the Hobbyking SS 25-30 is corrupt.. Ive burned several ESCs right now, and I may assure you its not due to the connections. They are all solid and stable. Any1 had the same issue? Or could recommend me another motor/esc with the same -800KV? Cheers

I am not sure what could be the cause. You should have tried the ESCs on another motor first to make sure they work, and then on this one. There could be a short in the winding, after all it is "Made in China". I've learned to expect anything. I could recommend motor with item number: Park450-890. Search it on this site. It is 890Kv, might be a tad more powerful that this 800Kv one.

Use the ESC on other motor then use it on this motor. If the ESC gets hot then the motor is at fault. I have a motor with bent shaft, the ESC gets hot really fast. Visually its ok but after close examination only I found the bent shaft. I really like this motor. Have them in my tri, quad and my slow stick as well.

I Believe that motor is way to expensive for me, as Im going to order several motors (4). Now the doonkey with ~800kv has arrived to stock so maybe Ill make some order there. However, the motor shaft is all fine. The thing is that it seems to be all random. You dont know when they will burn, but you know that soon they will. Now I cant complete my tricopter lol, one damn ESC missing lol :P Cheers!

I never burned an esc flying airplanes or helicopter but I have burned a few on quadcopters. 4 ESC gives you 4x the chances of failure. When you are flying one ESC its easy to control your throttle and manage power and ESC heat. When there are 4 ESC things get a lot more complicated. Even when you have calibrated throttle, motor load wont be equal on all ESC. Its a learning process and that what makes us coming for more :)

I have ordered 3 of these motors. One of these when I connect works perfectly. Second one when I connect only beeps and I only can set up it, but the engine doesn't run. How can I solve the problem? The third one doesn't beeps or move what might happend? Thanks

Sounds like you may have a bad connection ! Happened to me before a lot ! Try re soldering your motor connections

I have purchased about 20 of the motors over the last year or so for many different types of multiflyers. I started with tricopters with the HK V2 board and these motors gave heaps of thrust with Turnigy a 3000 40-50C 3 cell Li-po battery and 10x4.7 propellers. Then I tried them on a quad with good results. To me a good result is measured technically but when I have flattened the battery I check if the motor or ESC is warm or even hot. These motors remained cool after 10 minutes aloft. I am now using the motors on my hexacopter. Again I am using 40 Amp ESCs, a 5000mA 20C 3 cell battery. All up my hexacopter is 2400g. The motor has lots of grunt even with this all up weight. I am using a Wookong-M controller

Actually motor selection depends on the design of the quad. What is the quadcopter for? If you are looking for acrobatic style flight, higher kv motor with smaller prop is better. If you are looking for stable AP platform, this 800kv motor is just fine. I have built tri and quad from this 800kv motor. With the right prop, it is as good as it gets. Furthermore this motor really gives me longer flight time. Very efficient. Prop selection, you have to test it out. No way of telling whats good for your setup.

I had these 800kv motors on my tricopter and bought a few more for a future quadcopter, get the 800kv they work great.

I use the 800kv on my tricopter with 9x4.7 props. On a quad you could get away with smaller props (with the extra motor) and have them spin a bit faster, so you could go with the 1000kv. PRO setups use 750kv motors or so, so 800kv is quite good.

i would not use these for hexa unless your looking for something to mount easy. You could use them there fine motors your esc could rang from 12 amp to 18 amp get som simonk esc's.

On my 550mm quad (hobbyking wood frame) I used a Zippy 2200mah 25c, Turnigy Plush 18A ESC and 10x4.7 CW & CCW props. Make sure to balance props.

You can use a 20amp esc, to be very honest I am not sure exactly what happens if too high, I often go over as a safety measure, can't complain of any ill effects so far. With this one I'm running an 18amp.

High ESC will not damage the motor. Max rating on ESC is how much current can ESC handle, but not that it is supplying to the motor. Usually ESC is selected that it's rating is higher than motor can handle. With this motor I am using, for example, 20Amps ESC and 2200mAmp 3S 30C battery. Regards

No ESC is "Too" high. You don't want to go lower, but you can go as high as the weight of the ESC itself would allow you to. With this motor, you would wan't to use something within the 8-10" range of props, with a 2-4S, and a 18amp-25amp ESC is well enough.

High ESC is good. Low esc will kill it. U can use as high ESC your wallet can afford but for me this motor only needs 18A ESC. With 10x6 prop, 18A HK ESC, its a perfect combo. All barely warm, long flight time.

I can't begin to understand why they recommend this motor (800kV) to replace one with 2100kV in the AXN Floater Jet. This motor with the 5-5 prop will not produce enough thrust to blow paper off the table (exaggeration). A 7-6 prop only draws 6 Amps and just gets it in the air with WOT. This motor is also heavier than the stock motor for the AXN and this model is already tail heavy enough. The motor is fine but not right for AXN.

This is on of my favourit motors for small fomies up to 1m wingspan. I fly it in a 420g Yak from RC Factory with a 11x7 GWS HD prop. It produce about 800g Trust at 14-15A. The second airplane is a Rare Bear from Thundertiger with a 9x7 3-Blade prop.

Great motor, but a bit noisy.
Gives around 700g thrust with GWS10x6 prop.
on my 1,4m foamy trainer (weight 800g) fly time around 30min at half throttle/
