I need to test brushless motors.
The Servo Tester will work if i connect only the ESC with BEC directly at the output of the servo?
I've read two people talking about it, saying different things, someone has already tested?
i have a question, i connected a battery straight forward to the servo tester, and connected a servo to it, the servo tester turned on, gave very strong light and then turned off, the servo now is not working even using it with a Rx, , the servo tester is not working too, and I THINK, but not sure, that I smelled buring from it ... do you think i smoked it?
IF you have to use 2S Lipo (7.4V) do NEVER use a fully charched one. Use an alsmost empty 2S Lipo at about 6.5V - 7V. This way your servos will survive *)
Even better an ESC, but ain't no body has cash for dat ^^

even at 6 .3 V or so it will burn your 'normal' servo
what about all the HK servos they cant even take 6v .Or some say they can and we all know and learned they cant.
Dont use it with lipos unless u have a Bec
so i have a very random question, but i need an answer from those people who understand the actual electronics of it all... i know that the knob is just a potentiometer, but would it be possible to unsolder the potentiometer and replace it for a joystick, on the x or y axis pins... im using one you would use on like an arduino project. i need to know because i dont want to do stuff without knowing if it will work or not
The problem I have experienced before was that only a small range of the potentiometer is used on the joystick while the whole 270º* degrees are being used on this device. With an op-amp with the correct center voltage (50% supply voltage) and amplification (start with around 4x) you should be able to adjust the joystick output to replace the pot input of this device.

You have your choice of 3 modes.
1. Manual using the knob
2. Neutral which will take your servo to it's neutral setting automatically
3. Auto which continuously cycles the servo limit to limit.
Will it replace your $100 servo tester....probably not but for everyday use it's great.
You won't be disappointed in this one.

Useful little unit, has three modes identified by three blue LEDs that will have you seeing spots they are so bright. Neutral setting is useful for getting your servo horns centered without trial and error and the third option cycles the servo continuously. A few minutes will help seat and quiet noisy gears in new servos.

Nice, simple and does the job. Has 3 servo outputs that all get the SAME signal.
Has three modes: 1. Manual - set position by adjusting knob. Good for cheking how servo controls surfaces. Just be aware, that some radios/receiveirs can issue a wider travel range, so don't rely on this tester to show your servo's maximum travel. 2. Center - for aligning servo horns. 3. Auto - scrolls servo forth and back at constant speed. One period ~= 2 seconds.

A very good Item for a low price. The neutral setting is the same as on my MPX-transmitter. It is very good to adjust your servo before installing in the model. The blue LEDs, however, are much to light. I have paste over them with a strip of tape. Then it is ok.
