I have just bought a sc 52 ABC engine. Recommended prop size is 11x7 to 12x5 but I was wondering if not 11x7,5-8 would fit better on a fast machine (like Ripmax Harmony twin). The reason why I think 11x7 is too little is because 11x7 is also recommended for smaller and in addition faster revving sc 46a. Iterested to hear any opinions.
The prop is for IC engines with 11x7 propeller size mine is being fitted to an ASP FS61 four stroke. However, when the motor is runn in I will probably use a 13X6 JXF or APC prop.
I currectly use these as backup props for an OS Max 46 2stroke and a ASP 61 four stroke. Both are Glow engines. My preference, however is for APC 11.7 props as they work better on these two engines for more demanding flying. Master Airscrews are a good general purpose prop.
