Hi..I use this charger with DC13.5 volt input from a 5A supply, and after adjusting the potensiometers inside fully clockwise (CW)gave 4.14, 4.11 and 4.13 volt on a 3S 2200mA. Then i adjusted all the potensiometers fully anti clockwise (CCW)and this helped a bit, 4.17, 4.16 and 4.16 volt. Then i just adjusted the potensiometer for cell 1 a little clockwise. Is it safe to use up to 18V DC input???

Does the .5A, 1A, 1.5A, and 2A indicate the current going to each cell or is this the MAX current for the battery back. For example, if charging a 1000mAh 2S Lipo with the 1A setting, will it give .5A to each cell taking 2 hours to charge, or 1A to each cell taking 1 hour to charge (theoretically).

Hi!
You can charge with 2C if your battery supports 2C charging. If not I strongly suggest that you only use 1C charging since any more current could make your battery catch fire!!! Read the battery manufactures instructions and follow them.

Hi! It comes with a connection wire with alligator clips and a plug that fits the charger. This hardness is for connection to 12v.
The plug for connection to batteries is of JST-XH type. You only connect the balance plug and the charger will charge each cell through the balancing hardness attached to the battery. You do not connect the battery discharge plug to the charger at all so it does not matter which plug you are using as long as the balance plug are of JST-XH type (Rhino, Zippy, Turnigy etc use this plug).
You can connect 4s, 3s or 22s batteries to this charger.

Are the balence plugs the standard JST-XH. will it charge 1000mAh's and 5000mAh's?

T.rex.450

It will charge 500-5000mAh and higher capacity batteries. But when you connect 2000mAh and higher capacity batteries it will take over 1hour to charge it. The 5000mAh battery will in theory use 2.5hour to recharge if completely empty.
It is the standard JST-XH balance plug.

How it works:
Without connecting power. Plugging the battery, the display indicates the percentage of cargo that has this. The lights are red.
Under Power: Fan runs. Plugging the battery, the load percentage is rising.
After the load, the screen shows 100% and the lights are green.
That's all.

You get a somewhat early shutoff if charging a little to high current (if your battery is a 1300mAH and you charge 1.5A) Charge at lower current, and you end up with a higher cutoff voltage.

Try the 800 battery at 0.5A setting to see if it ends a bit closer to 4.2V.
Btw, a cell difference of 0.01-0.03V must be acceptable on a cheap charger like this (if you calculate the percentage, you'll find that it is very accurate:)

It does charge each sell through the balancer tap, yes! It is also of parallel type, so it charges any lipo that will fit in the plug (It is not dependant of pinout, so it will even charge my Kokam which is impossible on other china chargers..)

An excellent solution for power hungry chargers. The A20 can supply a constant 16A at 14v, making it perfect for chargers using alot of power to charge big packs fast, or you can hook up 2 or 3 smaller chargers to charge up to 5 or 6S packs each. Even if you dont charge at high rates, having a solid power supply like this will ensure the charger is supplied with a good constant current, helping it to balance cells and operate better.
The charger will suit 100-240v 50-60Hz home power points. The plug uses a common kettle type, so it will be easy to source a local power cord, or an adapter for the USA style plug.
Spec. Input: 100~240v Output: 14v * 16A constant Important. Internal fan thermostat set to 60Deg Celcius. Fan will not run unless power supply internal temp reaches 60DegC.
