Hi,

Would this motor be good for a 6S setup, pulling 95A continuously?
Will I have any problems?
Thank you in advance...

Has anyone tried this motor on 10S with something around a 20x8? I'm trying for 2200 to 2300 burst watts and averaging around 1100-1300 at half throttle for 3D.

I just ran it on 10s with a 20x10 37v 90A 3330W.
Motor has a burnt scent so thats way to much...
I hope i havent done much damage to the motor gona try 18x8 or 8s.

I've got some questions about the Prop adaptor:
What's the diameter of the shaft? And what a thread is there on the shaft?
I wanna buy a Süinner here too, so i need the prop adaptors dimesions.

Thanks,

The one I did my testing with has been mounted on my 60 size Lancair running 9 cell with a 13.4x13.53 blade prop, can't remember the amp draw, but it's 1460 watts.

Just ordered a second one to use in my Sea Fury, that one will get the 12 cell treatment.

ktaylor (83%)
did some 12 cell testing. Started small & went as high as I could until the ESC got out of sync with the motor

12x7 zinger 12 cell, 27.9 amps, 1241 watts.
13x6 APC Sport 25.08 amps, 1123 watts
13x8 JXF (hobbycity) prop, 29.54 amps, 1300 watts
13x13 APC Sport, 42.19 amps, 1786 watts

13.4x13.5 3 blade apc at 60% throttle, got out of sync, recorded 49 amps & 1860 watts before that happened.

thank you very much :-)

That would be perfect für my model. only perfect für 12S A123 * 18/19x10 :-)

ktaylor (83%)
Malte, sorry for the delay in testing. witht he 3 blade 15.75 x 13 on full charged 9s 4350mah pack (3s x 3 in series) I got 72 amps (2076 watts) on high timing in my ESC (turnigy 100 amp high voltage ESC) after letting it run for a few seconds that mellowed out to 62 amps (1700 watts) with the voltage drop. At full charge my laser tach showed 7150 rpm, & with the voltage drop it showed 6760 rpm.

so taking those numbers & calculating backwards & then putting an 18x10 2 blade APC into the mix, it projects 67 amps 1800 watts on fully charged 9s, & under the voltage drop 60 amps & 1670 watts. Static thrust would range from 14.5 lbs (6.5 kg) to 16.10 lbs (7.3 kg)

Hope that helped some. I'll be testing out 12 cells with it in the next couple days with a 13.4x13.5 3 blade, that should be interesting.

What are the dimensions of this motor?

Malte (40%)
hi,

yes, a 15.75x13 3blade would be comparable in power sonsumption. Difference of only 9% to a 19x10.
A 12s A123-Pack has round about 34V * 50A and 33V * 60A and 35,2V * 40A.

A 10S is a little bit higher. A full 9S or a (almost) empty 10S LiPo would be perfect. *-)

thanks for your efforts

ktaylor (83%)
12s 123 is about the same voltage as 10s li-po correct? I'll give it a shot. I don't have any props those sizes, but I should be able to take my results & calculate backwards what the 18x10 or 19x10 would do. I do have an APC 15.75x13 3 blade that might be comparable in power sonsumption, if not I think the largest in my box of props is a 15x10.

Malte (40%)
okay, thank you!
Yes, prop tests are very intressting to
estimate the propsize for my 12S A123 setup.
18x10 to 19x10 would be a good idea?!

ktaylor (83%)
Malte, what kind of numbers are you looking for? Prop tests? I have one of these, not in the plane yet. I'm planning on running it on 12 cells, but I usually start my motor tests with lower cell counts as a precaution. I'll put my results up here once I test it.

Malte (40%)
Does anybody have some "numbers" für a 8 to 10S setup?
