A great little 12A BESC, very light and very stable. This is the newer generation, with a much smoother throttle curve. The BESC weighs 9g, however if you change the wires and remove the heatshrink it can be around 6-7g
I bought one of these to go with the Hobby king DUAL STORM with comes with its own motor. Now the motor has no colours only 3x black wires and the speedy is coloured. How do you know witch wires go where??
No need to worry, just connect all 3 wires from your ESC to motor, run the motor and see which direction it goes,if it goes the wrong way then swap any 2 wires and it will run in the opposite direction.
I have taken mine to the limits with a 2730 1500kv on a DD8x4 prop on 3s (400g thrust). It starts up with close to 12A. When it starts up first, second and sometimes third try full throttle, it stops and goes into oscillation. After that it runs just fine, doesn't get too hot. So 12A seems to be really pushing it. Has anyone else noticed this? (I don't keep it on full throttle for long anyway.)Apart from that, good value for the money me thinks.
Alot use a 8 by 4.3 RD prop,it produces more thrust but pulls more amps and it doesn't have the problems as your describing.
Most 12amp rated ESC's have a 14-15amp burst.This is more of a 10amp ESC with a 12amp burst.
Go to rcgroups and see what other inexspensive ESC's work well with the 2730-1500.
or you can look at the new items page specifcally look at the multirotor esc's they are green in color easy to spot i belive they are what your looking for and the price is right only $8.00 each check it out and look at the new sea vixen while your there its really nice!
How do set the throttle range? The instructions aren't clear to me and it seems like anything over 75% on my Tx is full throttle to the ESC and motor. Not a smooth throttle curve.
Connect the battery while your TX throttle is set to full, then move throttle down to zero within 3 seconds. This will let the ESC learn your transmitters minimum and maximum range. Should fix it. ^_^
Bugs again it is like this the ESC require at least 7.4 volts (well 6 volts) so as the low power fail safe does not kick in. Under this voltage the motor will cut out to save power for you radio gear. This is why the listing says Battery: 2-4 Cell Lipo / 5-12 Cell Ni-XX. Not the higher voltage from Ni-XX needed due to less power. I hope this helps
do that esc can go with that motor

an d whit that batterie

IMPORTAMT? what do you want to have that specific batterie?
The question is related to the 7,4V batterie (2-cell-lipo) while the motor specification is only 1 Cell 1S/3.7V. I think you might have a problem. This ESC works fine only with 2-3 cell lipos! The answer is: This motor is not compatible neather with this ESC, neather with this batterie. Sorry. Be successful, Dejan
I just got mine today. But it is not doing a thing. I double and tripple checked all of my connections. I am using it with a Turnigy 1300kv outrunner, and I have tried both 2 cell and 3 cell lipo but all I get is a very fast 3 beep tone (low tone, medium tone, high tone) but that is all it will do. I tried going to the program mode that is all it does, the three tones. If I turn off the TX it will just start to do one beep every 4 seconds, When I turn on the TX it will stop. One thing I noticed was while the TX is off, every time it beeps, the motor kicks a bit, but that is all. Any ideas?
What is taking so long to get these back in stock?
They must be on a row boat with only one paddle!
Ive bin waiting since the first of this year and i would like to get them so i can fly this summer!!!!
I would avoid this ESC. It doesn't work with 2 cell batteries because there are problems with the LVC. I recommend finding another ESC in the 12 amp range.
Help
Mine was working fine 2s but after a recent crash no power to my reciever... My (-) wire to the receiver came loose. This is my brown wire could be black depending on your version.
Can anyone tell me where to solder it bacK? ? I cannot tell where it was connected
thanks
Right opposite the red primary battery wire. There is a spot for solder where the main power wire is located. THEN on the OPPOSITE side of the circuit board there is another solder joint. That is where mine is soldered on.

trying to use 2 of these, with 2 1300kv blue wonders for a twin. Can't get them to power up, gets the 5 tone beep, then if I move throttle stick, just constant rapid beeping, no motor start. I also tried disconnecting the red wire on one controller, had same problem, then tried just 1 motor/one speed control...same thing. I have a couple of the older version of this esc, and they work perfectly. Any ideas what to try next? Dan
I believe it is wanting to calibrate the throttle range. Try powering up with the throttle all the way up. Wait for it to beep a few times and then lower the throttle to the bottom. I've had to do this a some of these.
I use two of them and no problem but on a 25A Towerpro controller I had this...put your throttle stick full and put connect your battery, look your motor/controller connections too
I bought this ESC in my Piaget EPP on a 2 cell LiPo works OK, but for 3 cell LiPo not work. I wanted to reprogram it, I entered prgramming mode. Mod contains 8 basic items, and I do not know what each item means, so that I can not program. Factory manual lists only 4 basic items. Anyone knows what each item mean? Thanks for any help. Programming menu: 1. 1 ton - 2nd 2 ton - - 3rd 3 ton - - - 4th 4 ton - - - - 5th 1 long ton **- 6th 1 long 1 short **- - 7th 1 long 2 short **- - - 8th 2 years **- **-
If you wan use 2S Lipo with ESC MAG8 make folowed: Set ESC to NiMh/NiCd battery Why? If you plug fresh charged 2S LiPo, it have output voltage nearly 8,4V. 8,4V = 7cell NiMh/NiCd. Cutt off voltage protection for NiMh/NiCd is 0,8x7(cell)=5,6V (2,8V/cell) and its better protection then original setting for LiPo mode = 5,4V !!! For good cut off voltage protection is nessesery always used fresh charget battery!!!
I just received it, and I'm somehow frustrated - I wasn't aware that it has no reverse function! I'm working on a RC-Blimp - without reverse this will not work :(. Is it possible to activate a reverse function via programming??
No, I'm afraid reverse is not available. A standard esc for aeroplane/heli never comes with reverse, as all radios have endpoint with stick all the way down (it would be a pain to fly an airplane if you reversed the motor below center throttle...) For reverse function you must buy a specialized car esc, or in your case an adjustable/reversable pitch propeller would do nicely.
Check this out: www.link - Variable pitch prop setups are being used for some advanced F3P Indoor Aerobatic planes. Some use the tail drive from a helicopter.
I just recieved on. Transmitter on full trottle, fully charged 3s, Hooked it up to esc, servos work, NO beep. Double checked connections. No beeps full or idle trottle. Any Ideas or is this one bad?
i have this speed controller, and today i run it all the way till the immediated cut off worked, once i got home i charged my 700mah battery and it only put in 400mah, is there anyway of changing the voltage cutoff or is this just my 700mAh 10 3cell that is overrated (in mAh's) ?
Picture shows the old version, new one does not have the jumber. Here my review of the new one:, I am totally pleased with that esc. Absolutely smooth, linear operation, small and lightweight, 12A for up to 10 min. and 15A for short bursts. Not many options like timing and soft / hard brake, but the price is great.
There are 3 options, selectable with full trottle and then connecting the battery to the ESC. 1. One beep - auto lipoly (6V for 2cells and 9V for 3) 2. Two beeps - Auto Nimh / Nicad detection (.8V per cell) 3. Three beeps - Brake on / off
Retard trottle all the way to idle after the first beep of the option you want, and that's it. You will hear one long beep as a confirmation for your selection, and then either another long beep for auto lipo selection (option 1) or 3 beeps for auto nicad detection (if you selected option 2), followed by 5 short beeps during which you should not move the throttle (full throttle detection). The brake function is kind of a toggle switch - if brake was set, you will turn it off and vice versa.
The auto detection for Lipo cells (cutoff voltage) checked out to be 8.94 V instead of 9 for 3cells and 5.9 for 2cells - great! Thanks HC! Recommended!

Nice, smooth and powerfull with the 24g Blue Wonder. One small problem noticed With the 2 packs of 2s LiPos I have (800mAh and 860mAh) I get a false 3s celldetections when the packs are fully charged. As soon as i open throttle more than 1/4, I get a cutoff.
I changed to NiMh detection and keep a close attention to any power-drop and flighttimes. Trottle down and land immediatly when any sign of powerdrop is noticed.
I use it on a GWS pico TigerMoth w a 8040 prop and the BW motor, gives me 190-200gr of thrust at only 3.5A WOT. 9050 gives 210-220grams at about 5 Amps. /A

I have bought this ESC both for the price and the weight. I am using it together with the tiny 24g brushless motor (HXM27301300 hexTronik 24gram Brushless Outrunner 1300kv). Both are a fantastic combo. Here are some measures done with a 2s 800 mAh Hyperion lipo and several propellers : the thrust is measured in grams the intensity both for mid throttle and full throttle position
The ESc is very smooth and totally linear. The BEC is working very well (tested on a 2s lipo pack) I have the new version (without the jumper). It is a bit tricky to program as it is provided without any user guide ... But just ask to United Hobbies and they will give you all the informations.
In conclusion a highly recommanded product both for the price and the weight !

Hi,
