The Hummer EPP 3D is a high performance profile foamy that is sure to please. With its airfoiled wing, huge control surfaces, indpendent aileron servos and lightweight construction, this model is ready to perform extreme aerobatics. Hovering, knife edge, harriers, flat spins and more, this plane can handle it all!
The Hummer's ultra-durable EPP construction and carbon fiber reinforcement means that it can really take a beating. This is ideal for pilots looking to practice 3D manuevers without the fear of destroying an expensive balsa model.
The Hummer EPP arrives in kit form, so you will need to add your own electronics. The build is straight forward. A detailed assembly manual w/photos is included.
Simply add your own 1000KV brushless motor, 1047 slow fly prop, 20A ESC, 4 x 9g servos, 4ch radio system, 3S lipoly battery and your ready to fly!
Got my Hummer last week and it took a good day to build plus a little but it goes together quite well with no problems.
I wanted to use parts I already have laying around so started digging and came up with a 20 amp speed control and a Turnigy DAT 700kv bell motor, with a 11-4,7 slow fly prop and Wow!! what a great set up for this model about two to one power and I can launch it out of a box, these motors only cost about 10 bucks here on the website and they are well worth it, you need to sand some foam around the nose to get it in there but it has taken this little plane from a good flyer to a great one, give it a try, pulls about 13-14 amps on a 3's 1000 mah battery
Is it totally wrong to pair this with HobbyKing 2614 2000KV and 8x4 GWS prop? I am referring to PRODUCT ID: HK2614-2000.
Would this setup be underpowered? Would it work? Any opinions?
best appropriate setup : turnigy sk3 2830 1130kv
1300 mah nano tech battery
10*4.7 gws prop
30 amp esc
I have this setup it flies great 3D . and about the motor you refer it will be under powered.
This purpose of these 3d planes is not so much to fly high, although they can. They are made for precise aerobatics "3D" and when set up for this tye of flying are not very fast flyers. If you want to fly hight, you need something big so you can see it. Have a look at the Bixler.
Hi Prakash, you need to buy a charger. I recommend you buy an ACCUCELL6 from here. Very good and does not cost much. You will be able to charge batteries for all planes with it. You only need one.
If you haven't gotten a manual yet look right above this discussion page there is a tab called files click that and the manuals and other thing will appear for you to download
Fliege mein Hummer mit nem Turnigy Park 450 890kv ,Hobbyking SS 25-30 amp regler, und ner 10x4,7 blue bird sf prop mit nem 1000mah 3s akku .cg liegt bei 120mm
Bin total zufrieden.
Das seitenruder finde ich etwas labberig aber sonst kann man bei dem kurs echt nicht meckern.
The manufacturers give motor size in two different ways,1- motor size (minus the prop shaft), 2- stator size (the star inside the motor with copper wraped around it). The motor size in the airplane requirements above is for stator size. HK dosen't give stator size so it can be a bit confusing. The first two numbers 22 is the stator diameter in milimeter 22mm. The second two numbers is the stator width in milimeter 12mm & 13mm. This translates out to a motor size of about 2830. The park 450 890kv that I and Commandment recomend has a stator size of 2215, a little biger than the factory recomendments but it gives good power and is not to heavy.
I forgot the 2210N 1000kv (AX-2210N). I saw in the review a man saying it can take 900g. Since this weight is 45g, i think this is the best motor. Anyone agree?
The best value motors that i`ve seen for this bird are D2830-10 1000kv (D2830-111000) and DST-1200 Bell 1200kv (9031000008) but i can`t decide which one would be the best in terms of performance vs weight and battery consumption. I wanna full 3D with the max of flight time. Anyone can help??
just pick the one under related items (the 1050kv) im using it too and it goes unlimited vertical and i got about 7 mins flight time with 1300 battery
hope this helps
what motor would be better fot this plane? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__12921__D2 830_11_1000kv_Brushless_Motor.html
or: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18969__Tu rnigy_D2836_8_1100KV_Brushless_Outrunner_Motor.html
or what you recomend for this plan?
I am using Turnigy Park450 890kv, APC 10x4.7sf (slow flyer) prop, 1000mh 30c 3s battery, 30amp esc. Hovers at half throtle. I fly at half throtle or less doing 3D and blip the throtle pull through a direction change. This is a lite fun plane and 3Ds slow very well. don't over load it with too big motor and battery.
Let me add to my reply a bit. I kept my Hummer light, I used the CA glue sparingly. I use HXT900 servos because the metal gear servos (MG90S) are about 4 grams each heavier. I don't use the landing gear (36 grams) because I fly from a grass field wich is not mowed regulary. If you are a speed flier with a large flying field you may want to chose the 450 1050 kv and use a 9x6 prop, you will give up some thrust and it will take more power to hover, but you will have more speed. I prefer light and slow. If you want to load the Hummer up with bigger batteries, metal gear servos, landing gear, and lot of glue, or just want to fly real fast, then you may want to chose a biger and higher KV motor.
This plane is a hyperion sniper11!!!
I have the sniper version, running turnigy D2836/9 950Kv 11x5.5 APC prop(The apc is so strong seen easy 15 crashes ans till going)30 amp ESC htx900's and 1300mah nano-techs.
getting about 7-8 mins, also run a 1800 some time and thats fine to 2200 is ok for std flight but getting heavy for 3d!!! crashed it so much trying new things and it just keeps going. ditch the landing gear its ****. get 2 or 3 motors for it so if you punch it in and bend the shaft you dont have to cut your day short. Its just my go to plane for fun low stress flying. even in wind!!
Drop the rates and would make a super trainer, wish i got it for my first plane.
At this price i might Get the hk version
I just added a pdf-document about my Hummer to files section.
It has been to fly, only a few mods needed so far. Langing gear is the weakest point and flexes too easy, I lost a lot of props during the first flights.
A made servo trays for rear servos, so they are easier to change, wing servos are attached with a couple of drops of glue.
about to finish build on this good looking aircraft, im using 1130kV turnigy aerodrive sk3 motor with 10x4.7 prop, reckon this will hover it at half throttle with 3c 11.1V li-po?
Yes, with 3S 1300 battery and 10x4,7 my planes hovers about half throttle, and flying times can be 10 min. Full throttle flying time is about 4 minutes.
I only use Hot GLUE. I find it does such a good repair, it is hard to even see where it was broken. Also if you make a mistake, it can be removed by HOT WATER. I find any other glue makes hard spots in the foam.
There are no "real" hinges but the foam itself works as kind of hinge, so you dont need any other hinges. Works perfect with large 3D control surface angles!
Hi is this the new version with the wing servo holes pre-cut for vertical mounting instead of flat mounting hole like old.and did you get the wood servo mount. My Hummer didn't come with any.
thanks
The holes in the wings are precut for 9gram servos, stick it in and glue it in place laying flat. Yes mine came with all the hardware including the wooden frame for the motor.
i was gonna give ya the credit but it did'nt show the award credit sign this time ... whats up with that???? madhatt you still get credit for your answer in my mind.. (confusis say woman that fly upside down have crack up)
sorry for the wait for the credit there MadHatt i could'nt remember the password for this account and under the wildthawn acc. it wouldnt let me credit you. but it all good credit where due.. cheers n beers later dude
this one is a good one to learn on. its light weight, and the foam is pretty flexible. I think this could take a couple decent crashes before a repair is needed. Id go with this, a simulator, or a mini foamie. Hope something in there helped a little.
I THINK ILL BUY ONE WHEN THERE BACK IN STOCK I BOUGHT A MATRIX EPP TODAY FROM HERE. IM LOOSING MY FLYING FIELDS AROUND HERE AND THE PARK IS REAL SMALL MOST OF MY OTHER PLANES ARE FAST LIKE FUNJETS SKYFUNS ETC. ETC.
The build is straight forward. A detailed assembly manual w/photos is included...
The manual I received was two pages and mostly written in Chinese. Did anyone else receive something better then this?
I'm going with this motor too, claims of 900 gramms of thrust with a 10X4.7 sf...for 6 bucks...giving it a whirl!

had 10 flights so far. Wonderful plane! very agile yet so tame. i used the following. 2210N 1000kv motor, HK SS 18-20a esc, 10x4.7SF and 2200kv 15c and above batteries. Also had 2 spare hk939 metal gear servos placed on both ailerons. with a proper setup and cg, this plane would be a very good trainer plane for beginners.

I maidened this beastie this morning. Support the above comments about this being very sedate. Flight was slow and lazy it's a great 3D trainer.
Turnigy 2213 1050kv outrunner. Blueseries 20A ESC. 1047 GWS slowfly prop.
Build Tips: you'll need a crapload of CA (regular is OK) and some pushrods for the servos. There's no indication of positioning of battery/esc etc I put 1000mah 3s right up against the nose with rx directly behind it, ESC glued to the wing for airflow. Cut out some extra foam on rudder to allow elevator travel at full rudder deflection.
Flight Tips: Needs a bit of down and right thrust - I'm still playing with it. CoG as per manual seems a bit off, I'm running CoG right on the spar seems OK. Loops, rolls, KE, spins all good. I haven't tried 3D as yet as I'm a noob and bought this plane to learn.
Good value, needs a bit of knowledge to put together. Flies great at 1/2 throttle with 50pcnt expo can slow down enough to land on your head if you want
