NTM Prop Drive motors are rock-solid performance outrunners with tight windings, quality bearings, correctly rated magnets, balanced stator and flux rings plus they are QC checked at 14 points, from material processing all the way through to final dyno test.

Because we design and build these motors completely in-house (from 3D/2D drawing to materials sourcing, machining, balancing, final assembly and dyno) we can completely control production and ensure product consistency from design right through to shipping the product to you. The removal of middle-men has meant we can drive better value to the market and retail these motors at factory(our) prices! All performance figures are real and tested on our own motor dynos.
Our QC engineers check and balance each motor before shipping to the HobbyKing.com warehouse.

could i swing a 12x6 with a 3s?

I was surprised tonight when I put the watt meter on this motor, with a 3000mah 4 cell, 11x7 prop, 50 amp esc and it pulled 56 amps at 823 watts. I definitely had to prop down to a 10x6, now its pulling 30 amps at 553 watts.

what propeller is appropiate for this motor?

i'd start with a 9X6 and see how it flies

I put this in my speedy the one with servos and motor and I removed the 35-36 with 910kv motor. Anyway with the 10x6 folding prop which came with plane its pulling 34.6 amps and 550 watts on 4 cell 3000mah 40c zippy lipo with 40 amp mystery esc the motor after 10 min. is fairly warm the plane fly's fairly fast and is probably at its limit I hope this helps hope to include video soon.

I use 9x6 with a 4s and it only uses 36 amps on max throttle. So thats around 550 watts. You can go 10-11 inch with a 4s and even larger with a 3s.

are the shafts on these motors reversable?
 flyandi 944 points
No there are not but I cut off the tail part a bit to fit my plane and worked fine till date (6 months later). They say that you need the tail but I can't confirm that.

yes it can be done. just need a 4mm collet locking nut and a dremmal.

After reading so many reviews on the NTM series, I decided to pull the motor apart and glue the magnets before I installed the motor. Wished I hadn't been in such a hurry as the glue went places I didn't want it to go. I have a small screech noise when I first fire it up at very low throttle, then it is gone, I'm not sure if this is from the glue on the magnets or the ESC or motor, but with an 11x7 prop and a 50 amp esc, 3000mah 4 cell this pulled 823 watts and 56 amps. I propped down to a 10x6 for the mid 500 range watts and mid 30 for amps. This baby has some serious power. I just hope it is reliable.

Picked up one from the USA warehouse and only got about 30 seconds of flying time on it. :0( I had a friend of mine hand launch the plane (Multiplex Dogfighter) and within less than a minute the prop hub flew off the front of the plane and the plane. We went out to get the prop hub, and prop, etc. and found that the motor shaft had broken off right where it comes out of the motor. Just snapped off. First flight of the motor, never hit the ground or anything. We'll see if HK can give me another. I haven't had too good of luck with there Warranty so we'll see. I won't buy another.
