What does BEC mean?
 QuadSB 424 points
BEC = Battery Eliminator Circuit. Essentially, you now no longer require a Receiver battery pack, as your in-flight electronics can be powered form the 5V output from the ESC. Very conveient. Hope this helps.

Thanks alot. Dean.

No worries mate. There are also some ESC's that don't have a BEC built in. So that brings you to some separate devices called SBEC's which use a switching voltage regulator (instead of the typical linear type) and UBEC's which I'm not certain but I think the U is for Universal. :)

Used this ESC to replace a 30amp eflite esc that blew in my parkzone SE5a. Birdie ESC was easy to fit and did not have to be re-programed. Model flys very smothly with this new ESC. Overall im very happy with it!
