The Hobbyking SS series comes with a limited range of programming functions and are designed to be plug-n-play.
A perfect ESC for those looking for something simple to use and economic. mosFET rating on this ESC is around 34A, however we suggest you keep current to no more than 30A, as you should with any ESC.

Can anyone tell me the difference between BEC and UBEC? I have purchased an ARF version of the Floater Jet and wondered if I could use a BEC speed controller, or if it has to be a UBEC speed controller??
I'd like to help you but i can't - I ordered 4 of these along with a quadcopter and all the other associated parts. Unfortunately when i opened the box the ESC's were missing. I am now finding out how bad HobbyKing customer service is - i contacted them immediately and although the missing parts are shown on my acknowledgement email from HK and they have charged me for them they say i didn't order these parts.
I will not be buying from HobbyKing again!!
I should love the know what is the difference - I had HK-SS30A-HW and its faulty - rx binds, and then motor pulses - moving about 10 degrees either direction every 1-2 seconds. Not fault of any other items, since putting in a Red Brick and the motor turns like a good-un. I am thinking of ordering a HK-SS30A instead - its cheaper so not such a waste if it is also faulty!!
Any ideas what is the difference, (if any - except price) and any idea why motor just pulses?
Help??

great budget esc. i use it on 450 helis, foamies and scratch builds. having a 3a bec makes it ideal for many applications. i had one on my axn floater a while back and i was about 5 mins in,running at full throttle and it failed in flight, stopping the motor dead. but tbh im not 100pcnt sure it was down to the esc, could of just as easily been my dodgy solder joints! i have yet to trouble shoot on that. thought it was worth mentioning if you are planning to run wot for any length of time using this esc. over all, very happy with this speedy.

I use three of these on my Tricopter V2.5 and they suit the purpose perfectly. Never had any bother with them, each turning a 750KV motor, normally 10" props. Great basic ESC at a budget price.
Nice esc works well. Using 2 in my su37 parkjet running 2 2200kv motors on 6x4 props and 3cell battery . Stays cool throughout flight. Stay under 25amps and you can't go wrong.
