Kingduino Mega 2560 Compatible Microcontroller Board

The Arduino Mega 2560 is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega2560. It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 14 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started. The Mega is compatible with most shields designed for the Arduino Duemilanove or Diecimila.

*Note: This is not an original Arduino brand product, it is manufactured with the same components and functionality by a different manufacturer.

Any idee when these will be available again? Or comparable devices?

Reprogram Firmware: I ve been trying to reflash the 16U2 chip on it in order to turn that device into a mega joystick controler recognized by Windows 7 using Flip. Problem is that I cannot make in enter in DFU mode (usually you have to short 1 or 2 pins in order to do that). So if someone did it ( I m not asking for links on the web, I ve been searching for 2 weeks and skimmed hundred of pages) please post the procedure. I can tell it is not in DFU mode because it is still visible in the device manager Arduino Mega.

Reply to self: Arduino world is full of true and false/incorrect information. So google might not be your friend and what look very easy can turn to nightmare. Long story short, I purchased an ISP and made a connector to go from the ISP to the 16U2 usb chip and reprogram it.

The way i started was by buying a simple beginners kit like this one* ***********freetronics****/products/experimente
rs-kit-for-arduino#.VDM4CvmSx8E Then
i went on analysing example codes such as blink, fade and button. Once i familiarized myself with these codes i understand the bare essentials and starting writing my own codes based on the information i exposed myself to. Good luck!

Hello all, I have been doing RC for some time and I'd like to get into Arduino projects and learn some basic programming. Anybody have a good complete newbie tutorial on how to get started with Arduino? Also, what else would I need? Thanks, -RC2211

Well, if your interested, it's pretty easy to get into arduino, the site previously mentioned, or you can just google it, and find a hole bunch of tutorials of making just about anything.

One of the best tutorials i have found in my 2 years working on arduino projects is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCxzA9_kg6s because it covers everything from basic led light up to serial/gps communication with integrated possessing to make cool displays to show the sensor data. I would recommend parts wise to get a servo, leds, resistor, potentiometers, a motor, buttons, ext in order just to learn the basics. Once you have that you can get just about anything and learn how it can be integrated with arduino.
