Just bought this ESC. 1st ESC I have bought and was wondering if that was tinning already on the ends of the wires or should I cut that off to solder.
 waterlogged 2846 points
No just leave it on. It's been done once so no need to do it again. Make sure you don't move the solder joint before it's cooled, you could end up with a bad (cold) solder joint.
 ADUC.HeliME 184 points
The solder has already been done but to make the join easier tin the battery connector and do not be afraid to use a flux. Then heating both the wire and the connector they will easily flow together making an very strong bond.

Does the ESC have a programming card? Can't seem to find one on the site. Cheers
 elolz_Au 54 points
search "HobbyKing ESC Programming Card".. It will show up mate. hope this helps
 elolz_Au 54 points
www.link at the end of the hobbyking . com thing and it will show up
 waterlogged 2846 points
Sorry kpphotos there is no card for this ESC. If you read the Manual it may help. You can find it at the top of the questions for the ESC under the Files tab. It's pretty basic and a number of settings are automatic, but it's worth a read.

Is this just as good as a Plush 60amp?
 waterlogged 2846 points
Personally I'd go for the plush. I just feel Turnigy has the edge.

I had this esc/motor working combo fine, only ran it one, but I think I messed with the programming. My motor pulses and shakes when I give it throttle. I've tried the same motor on another 40A esc and it runs fine, I tested with the same battery and RX.

I tried the factory reset from the instructions, but no change. It was originally running on the factory defaults. Any ideas? Is my new ESC bad?
 waterlogged 2846 points
Ask this as a fresh question. You've added it to someone else's question. Even though it was a couple of scammers. Just go to the top where the questions start and you can enter it as a fresh question. As for A, B, C, D, Sam and Karen they have all been reported to HK Admin for scamming.

iboard2 sounds like you have soft start on (heli mode) If it pulses only on ramp up you need to turn off heli mode. Im assuming its being used in a plane. If not sorry cant help.

I picked this ESC for the 4 amp bec, Item was DEAD on arrival and would not power motor, read the manual and apparently there is a connection fault between the esc and motor. Tested different motors none worked with this esc.

dear friends, i previously mentionned that i had bought 2 of these esc, and none of them worked. then beep and activate, but dont want to spin the motor. i finally found what is the problem with them, the voltage threhold is set on high as factory setting.. change it to low. using the programming sheet,ie turn on the transmitter with trottle up, turn on the esc, wait for the E E E E beeps.. which is 4 long beep. pull the throttle down, and turn of the power to esc.. and it will work fine, sometimes u have to set the thottle 2 by doing the same thing but pulling ddown the stick after the first set of beeps.,look in the programming manual

Just received my ESC with the same problem people are talking about. I get the 4 beebs but no power to throttle. Solved the problem by going into setup mode. Full Throttle up, connect power to esc, wait for 4 beeps (4 cell Lipo), full throttle down, wait for beeping confirmation, disconnect power to esc. Problem solved. ESC works fine. The problem is just as "Arnaudd" stated below. All those who think this ESC does not work should follow these steps.

Using this in a Dynam 1200mm Spitfire pulling 38 Amps on 4 cell set up, works perfectly and comes down nice and cool. Quite a heavy unit but that doesn't worry the Spit, for under $20 I will definitely buy again
