The AXN Floater jet is a perfect model for beginners. Its stable flight characteristics and forgiving handling make it the perfect platform for learning to fly. Unlike some models in its class the AXN Floater-jet comes with ailerons right out of the box. This is a critical control surface that all budding pilots should master.
Constructed from strong EPO foam with a high gloss finish the AXN Floater-Jet is capable of achieving high speeds in a small amount of space or gliding around gracefully on the breeze only needing throttle to gain altitude.
The predictable flight characteristics, low wing loading and pusher prop also make the AXN Floater-Jet an ideal platform for FPV. Using a smaller battery such as a 1600mAh to 1800mAh 3S1P will allow for additional payload in the front of the aircraft and make finding the correct CG without having to add additional tail weight easy.
The included motor and 5x5 propeller offer both performance and flight time based on your flying style. You will require 4 x 9gram servos, a 1600mAh~2200mAh 3S1p Lipoly battery (depending on payload requirements) a 20Amp ESC and your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx) to complete this model.
Proven time and time again the AXN Floater-Jet ticks all the right boxes for anyone looking to get in to the hobby as a beginner or intermediate pilots looking to get in to the exciting world of FPV flying.
Well... Flew this beauty yesterday!
No drama! Goes well with stock motor! Wind was at 10km/h and it flew well regardless. The oveall build doesn't seem that sturdy but time will tell. I used the Turnigy TG9 Servo's and they are fairly quiet, not sure of reliability yet! For under $2.50 they seem decent! This thing likes to climb, power down and push it into a head wind and up she goes! I hardly trimmed this at all! Purchased and built for my young bloke to cut his teeth on! Easily balanced with a Zippy 2200mah 3S 25C and a nice friction fit. The glide rate is excellent.... Lands effortlessly with just power down and a touch of up nose to flare. I used a 30A Turnigy Plush ESC and this bird throttles up super smooth. The control horns are pretty average imo but for now they work! I recommend buying one of these, not bad. Flies well.
They are pretty cool and great to fly , just been flying mine around now for a few weeks, it took my 11yr old son about 10 minutes to get the hang of it, as you said even landing he is fine, just cut the throttle and glide her in. We grabbed a bixler to now, just in the process of putting it together.
Hi guys my axn has also given up working, after just only 4 flights, first one servo on the right aileron stopped working then the other, lucky i was able to land without no damage, i thought i was getting a bargain with buying the ARF version and save myself some time, and i was told to not bother and buy just the kit and setup up with my own electronics, kicking myself now, have to replace all the servos, and they are not in stock.
these are the servos I use in my AXN HK15178 Analog Servo 10g / 1.4kg / 0.09s PRODUCT ID: HK15178 or these will fit also HXT900 9g / 1.6kg / .12sec Micro Servo PRODUCT ID: HXT900
Hi Rexy thanks for info was looking for servos to replace in my axn, and nothing i usually use hxt900, was in stock, untill you mentioned these HK 15178, in stock and a bargain price, i grabbed a dozen, do you reckon they will be ok in a bixler vers 1.1 as about to build, or do you think they are to weak.
If the servos for the bixler are the same size (I think they are) they will be fine, Im using the HK15178 in my AXN with no problems and have not had one fail yet, these used to be the orange servos recommended by XJET
Hi guys well my HK servos arrived today HK15178, to replace the old existing ones that failed, these new ones fittied perfectly and work quiet and smooth, no jitter , took out for a fly today, a bit windy than id like but flew fine, 3 flights and servos working flawless, not bad for $2 bucks. hey if they last 6 months who cares, i bought a 1/2 dozen so got spares
Hi would like to thank Rexy03 while im at it, he was the one who mentioned the HK15178 servos, i would of waited till the hxt900 were in stock, now im back in the air after only a 3 day wait from aussie warehouse. thanks guys.
Hi Paul, mate, the floater is stock, FPV i am using is 5.8 ghz 500mw with cloverleaf and sku planna, pretty basic set up mate, as for recording on this one, i used the #16 camera with the 120 lens cheers
yes it is a bit fragile around the servo area of the fusalge, are you aware of the elapore soup method of repairing a bent epo plane, then glue her back together again, if not google search for elapore soup
Hi Rexy03 thanks for info, i was also chasing after servos for my axn, usual hxt900 out of stock as usual, ive ordered some of these, cant go wrong for 2 bucks, and in stock as you said, let you no how they go guys
Thanks for the info, is that they're not strong enough or too light? I was also considering the profile mustang, any ideas if the 5oo will suffice for that?
Thank You.
I think they perhaps aren't as strong as they could be. They seem to work too hard. That said they haven't failed yet, but I have only flown in light wind. Compared to the price of buying servos at a local store, it is worth the few dollars to try the 500s. If you end up upgrading in the future, you can put the 500s in another build
I just brought a whole bunch of upgrade stuff for my skyfun.. now i have no money left to buy another one of these, my old one is 50% hot glue lol, the email i got letting me know this was in stock said there are 53 left.
hey im new to hobby king just got a couple of questions
is there a differents between pusher prop and a normal are they the same thing and if somethings out of stock and i add it the cart with another things that are in stock do they still get shipped together
Hi! You can easily turn a normal prop into a pusher, you just flip it around, so the other side of the prop is facing towards the front of the plane... Yes, if you order something that is out of stock, and also something that is in-stock, they will be shipped together once the out of stock item becomes available. If you need a Floater Jet quickly, go ahead and order one from the International warehouse where they are in-stock... Hope this has answered your question. Regards -Al
Woah there son... Flipping a prop about does NOT reverse the airflow. Try it sometime. Props are not symmetrical though so what it does do it is make it less efficient. Pusher props are made to be driven clockwise and their profile matches this. Of course, most props turn counterclockwise.
Pusher props are made for fuel engines because they can't reverse like a electric motor, when they turn a fuel engine they need the prop to turn opposite rotation, or if you have multi engine's and you want opposite rotation, there is no problem turning your prop on an electric motor you adjust the motor leads to suit the direction needed
Woo, arrived today. Mostly completed. I'm following the AXN YouTube build videos so will have a permanently glued wing. I'm also doing the 5-channel split aileron/flaperon. All going well so far.
Mine arrived a couple days ago, first opening seems good so far except I got the instructions for the hover one instead. I found a copy on ivc wiki. Will still use bruce's video.
Eaisest build Ever.. and so much flight time u get a sore neck from looking up to mutch.. A great plane and the perfect speedy trainer HTH

Mine arrived today.
Out of the box it looks great. I like the foam and the build quality.
I have had the bixler and I think I will like the way more, the maiden flight will prove that.
Not as much room as the bixler for electronics and lipo but still very nice plane.
Ill update once I have maidened this baby!
THANKS HK

Great product.. RC model review has build video...Thanks Bruce for all the great advice.... Quality product, it flies great and will sustain quite a bit of damage. I have built two, one of which is still flying after being in three pieces...twice! Now a friend is enjoying it and has ordered another as well. You cannot go wrong ordering this great introduction into the world of RC flying Order one as soon as they come they don’t last long on the shelf.
This is a great plane to learn how to fly,, a very quick an strainght forward build around 2 hours if you have never assembled one, its the electrics the take the time to mount an route wiring, velcro ing in ,gluing etc, plaes note that you should run a few strips of packing tape, along the base of the plane and leading edges of main an tail, put a rubber band or duct tape over the screen as the magnets is not that strong,up grade the prop to 6x4 will give you a bit more tough the 5x5 i found to be scugling to maintain a quicker attitude ,so make sure you order a couple, over all the plane is 5stars highly recommended without a doubt best ive flown buy them their good
