I seem tohave some overheating problems with this motor. I am using a 70amp Turnigy speedy, 5x5 prop and a Zippy 4s 1800mah. The motor gets very hot and the battery, too(as in try and hold the batt tightly in your hand and you can't). Am I overdoing it with the prop? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Daniel, I run 3s 2200, 50 amp esc ( pulls 33 amps wot ), 5.5 by 4.5 prop in depron jet plane. Flys fast and screams like a jet. If you run 4s battery, I would go smaller prop, maybe around 4.5 by 4 size

have had 3 of these **** motors. All 3 lasted less than 2 minutes in flight before there was a smoke trail and they burnt out. Ran then on 70mm EDF fan units with 4 cell 2200 lipo, NOT RECOMENDED

Fastjet, can't handle 4S u think. Put one of these in axn, 5x5, up over 50 amp draw but with 3S seemed ok. Good performance. Wary of 3S-5S stated. Have got lots of red motor type, for different applications, no problem with any, sorry to here 4S issue with this one

Purchased this motor for use in the 64mm 7 blade edf. Takes a bit of work to get it in there as its designed for an inrunner really. To fit you need to cut the back of the motor mount off, cut a hole in the front for the wires and dremel out a couple of mm's inside the motor mounting area so this outrunner can spin freely. Once done though it works beautifully. On a 4s 2200mah 40c it pulls about 48amps and puts out around 750w. Provides plenty of thrust. Very happy with this solid motor.

Used in a tear into jet boat with water cooling, lifted the hatch and was greeted by a hull full of smoke, happened on the same day my 2632 3400kv Turnigy outrunner died in my mini cobra. They really need to upgrade all the Turnigy motor wires to a nice heavier gauge silicone wire and I need to stop buying cheap motors and expecting them to last.
