More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance. In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery. For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance. Excellent news for 3D pilots!
Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!
*The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity. 2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion. Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly. Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries; -Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg. -Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load. -Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly. -Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC -Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load. -Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate. -Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries. -Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.
I was wondering if I could use the"Turnigy 2S 3S Balance Charger. Direct 110/240v Input" charger on this? It says it has a 650mah output to each cell. New to lipos and need help!
Probably not a good idea. You would be charging at about 3.5C (current 3.5 times the capacity of the cell), which shortens the life of the pack considerably. Cells will get hot, and the charger may overshoot the maximum safe charge level. You'd be better off getting a charger with variable current and charging at 1C (0.2A). I use a Turnigy Accucel 6 for these small lipos. Don't worry about buying a separate power supply if you're charging at 0.2A* any 12-volt "brick" should be able to supply enough current for that application.
I would not suggest doing this. Many lipo manufacturers advertise high charge rates, and while the battery may not be a physical danger charging at a high rate, you will severely impact the overall life of the battery. I try to limit my charge rates to 1C or just a little higher in efforts to get as many cycles out of the pack as possible.
I want use this battery for NTM Prop Drive 12 13 and two servos controlled by 6ch Tx and Rx will it be fine and how long it will work can somebody suggest anything?
It is hard to tell, becouse it depends on how much load are servos under, and how much it would motor take...
I have approximately 80W motor, 1 digital 3,5kg servo, 2 HXT 500 servos and RX all powered by Turnigy 2S 460mAh nanotech LiPo in my Depron plane, and I get about 7 minutes of 3D flying...
Hope it hepls..
I have been using these, but I have notice after a while they really lack in performance. I used these in 22-26" 3D foamies and after a while they don't give good performance at all. With some of these, they couldn't even hover. And if they could, it only did it for like 20 seconds, even right after charging. The only plane this is useful in is the 22", it can fly pretty good in those, but only because it is so light. All in all these are good batteries, but unfortunately Nano-Tech's <500mAh are really just hit-or-miss.
Im a bit new to charging lipos and my charger only has a 150mah(0.15A) and 200mah(0.2A) setting is 0.2A fine to charge these at? What is the best amperage to charge these at?
Max Charge Rate (C) is 2C, so you can charge these at up to 0.36A, but for maximum life it's often best to charge most lipos at 1C. 0.2A is just over 1C so it should be fine.
Hello PK, I have prdered these for my micro Durafly Slick 360 (PNF), i believe that the Telemicro is part of the "micro" durafly series so it should work all going well with you. Your plane has exactly the same specs as mine so it should work. Good luck and hopefully you'll be flying soon.
just recieved 2 of these and the battery only has a balance plug and not a charge/discharge plug. just wondering how am i gonna charge it, ive never seen a battery with only a balance plug..
Actually balance connections are additional connections from each cell of the battery. Charge/discharge plug is plus and a minus of connection of the battery assembled from several elements (for example 2S from two consecutive etc). AWG Wire Sizes only difference. Usually balance is not need so many Amps as discharge. Charge/discharge plug can be excluded if we need save a weight and discharge current is low.
If the charger demands charging plug just connect it in parallel on first and last wir
there is two options or you buy the eflite battery by mistake or HK send you the eflite battery by mistake..they both have the same specs but eflite battery is for eflite chargers and planes ooops
Certainly, balance connector can be used to charge too. But it depends on the charger type. For example, a simple charger (like Turnigy balancer & Charger 2S-3S) uses only balance connector. But my charger (IMAX B6) requires both balance and discharge connector too.
Hey could anyone please help me out in choosing the right charger for the battery. I pretty much know nothing when it comes to RC so you really need to explain in a little detail about chargers and wall adapters etc, thanks :)
Hi ,ifyou are new in this hobby,i will recommend this charger, good quality ,cheap and easy to use..PRODUCT ID: ADC4SCHG..just if you need to charge 1,2,3,4Cell battery.it is not the fastest charger but for a start it will do the job..this charger have red and black plug for different addaptor of different battery,the white o ballance plugs are for the different cell count if you are going to use these battery you need to use the first and smallest white plug with the battery white plug this is
Thank you that really helps! although i did a bit of searching around my house and found a charger balancer for a helicopter i used to have. the balancer is 2s (2x3.7v) for lithium batteries. It has an input DC:12V and output 0.8A. It also has a LED to tell you when the helicopter battery is charged, the helicopter batter is 1000mah. Could i use this same balance charger for the turnigy nano-tech 180mah?
usually the new nano-tech have a rating charge of 5c. means how many times the capasity for charging. 180mah x 5 is 900mah max. so yes you can. just make shure that you have both ports fir charging and for balancing. and for the first time. try not to live the battery alone. and check if it temperatura raise. more than yuo can't touch it. if it is the case. just disconect charger imediatelly
So will this battery work in the E-flight UMX planes?(i.e carbon cub, beast, ect.) Im very new to the r/c world and still dont understand all of the idiosynchrasies of the power systems yet? this looks like the right connector, but as im sure most of you can tell I dont really know what im looking at HAHA
This battery will work (I use it in my umx sbach) however the plug is not the same. This lipo has a jst-xh balance plug and the umx planes use jst-ph. I soldered a new red 2 pin jst onto my sbach so I could use the same batteries on all my planes, like the one above. I also use these batteries on my 2S brushless polecat and t-28 micro. The advantage is now I don't have to buy the more expensive lipos with the proprietary plug, saves me money! Great lipo! Below is a link for jst connectors.

You could do the resoldering as suggested above, or if you already have an e-flite charger you could just buy this product: "N180.2S.25". It is the exact same battery, but with the e-flight plug end on it. I use both and built a small adapter for the e-flight batteries when I want to use them on my JST planes / vice-versa. Also... if you're not into soldering rc-connectors**** is a great place for pre-wired adapters, etc. for e-flight/jst/and so on.
Just measured my micro t and i came up with
A=36mm
B=21mm
C=12mm
will just fit but i don't know if you need to cut of the balancing leads or try to get them out of the battery compartment
Looks like they finally got the lead length right. That 2 grams you save over the flightmax is significant in little micro planes. I too bought several of the UMX ones and had to make an adapter. I wish they would release this version first. Really doesn't make sense to me.
Yep, I originally had the cheaper ones which only had a JST and no balance lead, and they can't give the 7 amps my Yak needed and the only others were the UMX ones
Join the club. I just bought a bunch of the other ones for my Telemicro and they imediately came out with these. I put a couple in another order anyway just to see if these have noticeably more grunt.
I have 3 of these problems were Akka with one, after a week of use otgorel contact between the banks, and so pleased to charge a high amperage allows the presence of cars and 3 akkov fly without interruption. Ordered another.
Nano-tech packs are quickly becoming my favorite packs with great performance at a low cost, from the small 180mah to my larger 4000mah packs. These lipos came perfetly balanced at 3.85V per cell
