Hello!
Can fit to this plane any 2200mAh 3s battery? Does it have any room for it?
Thx!

how to make a nose if we don't want any motor?
gerardo  8 points - 1/2/2013

Abouth the motor for the Specter, please some help, wich 28 mm motor and wich ESC will be the best?. Ive used 2650 rpm 28 mm inrarunner motor witch 2200 11.1 lipo bat. The Esc blow !!!!!
 francisco 5 points
I just order one of these, I'm going to use a Mega 16-15-5 wich is about 1800kv, and Hk 40 amp speed control (the blue one) and a 10x6 graupner folding prop, prop wont be cheap but with a nice looking plane like this, you want to put good electronics and prop....hope this gives you some idea what to put in....
 gerardo 8 points
Hi Francisco, thanks. Could you be more especific about the motor? Cant find it. Im also using a 10x6 graupner folding prop, my mistake is the motor size I guess. Regards.
Stef Stuntpiloot  46 points - 9/12/2012

Recieved mine one week ago, have it ready for the motor and after that it's maiden. First impressions are good, I did glue the 2 winghalfs together. Video of this model can be found as an addition to this post.

How long do the wing servo extensions have to be? thnx
 Stef Stuntpiloot 46 points
I used 1 meter servo extensions, I have more than enough, I guess that anything from 60 cm and up would be enough.

youre welcome! Have a nice build.
 Justapoke 175 points
Just 30cm is more than enough. I use 20 cm with Hitec HS-55 servo's that have long wires.
caliban  7 points - 8/15/2012

will fit a 35mm motor in this plane? I have one laying around.
 Justapoke 175 points
Nope, Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 2836-1040kv is a good motor.
Patrick74  14 points - 7/27/2012

I looking for the lightest glider at HK. But I would like to motorize it. What is the wings ara of this model? Thank you
 bdoets 279 points
HK does suggest other servos, Turnigy MG90S Metal Gear* they're probably thinner? Anyway, HK says this plane is 4 channels, but I see 5. Could be a ***mer for someone who has a 4-channel set and ordered this plane.
 psguardian 33 points
V-tail mixer will solve their 4ch issues.
Kevin  4 points - 6/3/2012

I went to fit the HXT 900 servos for the vee tail and the bottom of the servo is touching the bottom of the fusilage but the arm on the top sticks out above the wing mount level. The servos appear to be too large.
How did anyone else get around this issue?
 Kellyann 16223 points
Kevin it is about HK give us some rec PARTS. Or at least let us list what we found worked. It would not be hard, they do is for MOTORS i=under users input. So are you going to ask HK or shall I.

Kevin ok sorry I hope some one answers.
 plngh 32 points
I moved the servos forward and ground off the bottom corners with a dremel.
plngh  32 points - 5/26/2012

Are the wings one piece or do they break down for transport. Thanks!
 Javaguy 46 points
Two pieces joined with a carbon rod.

Which motor / prop / ESC / battery combination make it good climbing and don't compromise weight / volplane too much?
 Straight Up 741 points
As written below: I fly a Passer-X with KD A22-20L motor (from HK), 11x8 folding prop, 30A ESC and 1000mAh 3S Lipo. This set-up pulls 300W for screaming vertical climbs (hotliner style). Don't pull high Gs at full power - I doubt the wing is rated to do it.
Spark-n-Sputter  5 points - 5/17/2012

How is the V-tail mounted to the fuse? It sure looks like there is little glue area on mine.
 Javaguy 46 points
I glued the pieces in place on the fuse and inserted a carved plug of balsa into the empty end of the fuse with a bit of wood glue on it. That gave me something to screw into. I drilled a couple of pilot holes through the tail surfaces and fuse end and secured the whole thing with a couple of screws in each half. Don't run the screws into each other.
Javaguy  46 points - 5/8/2012

What are the motor / prop combinations being used out there?

Hello, could someone who has a specter/passer x please tell me the recommended C.G.location?
I have had one sitting waiting for a few years now and would like to finally fly it. Thanks.
 Charles 12 points
No problem, begin to try it with a CG at 29-30% of the wing chord (taken at the wing root for your first flihts). Furthermore you should try step by step to move it at 31 % and so on. ... paying attention that the more you put your CG back you increase gradualy the instability of the model. and, at least, to a point that it become so "nervous" that you almost cannot control it.
 LarrySee 89 points
The plans call for a measurement from the nose of the airplane. 680mm from the nose to the C.G. position on the wing.
 Charles 12 points
Yes, "the plans call for" so ... nothing to say more ???. But, measuring the C.G. "from the nose" of the glider is quite unusual and I have more than a doubt that a classic model which have a length of 930 mm should have a C.G. "at 680 mm from the nose". Are you well awaken ? It's better to shut it up than giving a false information Mister Lee !
 Straight Up 741 points
LarrySee, why do you give crazy answers? Your answer is worse than no-answer! I fly a Passer-X and my CG is 71mm back from the leading edge at the wing root. I have also heard of 68mm used - not much different, and good corroboration.
 LarrySee 89 points
The data from the plans is wrong. My apology for quoting. Now go on to harangue someone else.
 Straight Up 741 points
Oh poor boy. You gave some REALLY bad totally ill-informed advice that could have crashed other modeller's planes, and you're the victim. Go and give bad advice somewhere else!!!
 Charles 12 points
I presume Larry See would say 68 mm (instead of "680mm"). As I don't know the deepnes of the wing's chord I suppose it could be something like 21 or 22 cm. After all,1°*) with a CG at "680 mm from the nose" the model can simply NOT fly at all and 2°*) it is impossible to obtain a balance point "at 680mm of the nose" even with motor and battery fixed "on the tail" 3°*)so...no danger to crash anything...(Ha, ha !).
 LarrySee 89 points
Have either one of you purchased this model?
 Straight Up 741 points
Like I said, I fly the Passer-X from R2 Hobbies. I therefore have NOT purchased this exact model. If you're about to suggest that this model is wildly different from the Passer-X, I'd suggest you don't go there. You've lost enough face already.
 LarrySee 89 points
It is the contents of the package I question. They aren't right and certainly not worth the $129USD(includes shipping). And I will go anywhere I please.
 Charles 12 points
Straight Up, there is nothing more to debate with this "hilarious Larry": it is obvious that this little boy still don't know anything about anything. Furthermore, he DO persist : is he mad ?

Podeis aconsejarme un motor que no vaya falto de potencia?? EN las indicaciones pone por arriba de 1800 kv, pero sin embargo el que aconseja la pagina es de 1500... You can advise me one that is right?

lol @ Exclusive to Hobbyking this is a Passer X copy. The Passer X has been around a very long time and is a very attractive nice flying Glider just search youtube for Passer X or Passer Glider
 snappy 2290 points
Terry would you reccomend it? especially at that price
 snappy 2290 points
Thanks Terry
 kapeti2108 16 points
I would recommend it, of course, a great flyer, but the transparent yellow one has a very very poor visibility, you have to upgrade the covering with stickers or paint...
 Mr&MrsNifty 115 points
Snappy, I have a Passer-X and they're solid performing sailplanes, will float and cruise nicely. Decent price on these!
 dodge 41 points
Hmm, which motor for this one ? The suggested one doesn´*t seem to fit very well...
 Speedfr3ak 246 points
I have the Passer X and would recommend this, my setup is 3200kv brushless 28x30mm heli motor with 6x3 folding prop, 11.1volt 3S 2200MAH lipo. this setup just fits and flight time is quite good, windy days im getting 20 minutes, this is a good fun relaxing glider to fly :-)
 wildfire 42 points
Hm, the suggested inrunner motor alone weighs 102 grams, plus a spinner prop -30 grams. Add a battery of about 120-180 grams, and you're never ever going to come out at 680 grams flying weight.
And: dump that woodie-thingie holding the motor up front and epoxy a decent fiberglass mount instead. Watch out that the shaft of your motor is long enough to accommodate the folding prop-spinner, other wise, you'll never get that turning true....
 dodge 41 points
Well, and I think the 3200kv is also a bit overkill... and quite inefficient with a small 6x3 prop. Im afraid HK´*s warehouse doesn´*t have a motor that would nicely fit and make sense for this kind of flyer.
 Straight Up 741 points

 T6Texanaus 298 points
Straight up Yep not rated I know I broke my passer-x pulling up too quick though I used a hyperion G series outrunner on mine (have to get around to fixing it. As for the colour I'd dissagree that yellow is hard to see as I have had several over the years and all are fine. The weirdest one I have is a clear wing done in laminating film and it's highly visible.
 Kellyann 16223 points
Terry thank you very very much. I was very helpful.
 pacholik 5 points
Hi, can I ask if this motor is suitable for this plane - Turnigy 480S BL Inrunner Motor w/ Impeller 1500kv, thanks
 kallenwestbrook 54 points
Hi guys. Im looking for a glider/racer combo and wondering if the airframe is up to it?
Looking at acheving 200km/h numbers for racing and was going to pair it with the turnigy 28mm 2600kv motor and a 6x6 folding prop, 60A esc and 2kg micro servos..
What do you guys think?
Cheers
 T6Texanaus 298 points
Kallen Nope not this one I was flying way under the 100khp mark when i folded the wings.
 kallenwestbrook 54 points
Spewing.. Owell.. Back to searching..
 Straight Up 741 points
Agreed, this one is not a speed demon. However, I believe the Pacer G007-H Composite High Performance Glider 2240mm (ARF) would meet your requirements - also a Hobby King plane.

The HXT 500 will fit. But they might not have enough torque.
 Straight Up 741 points
I mounted my HXT 900s on an angle. Check out RC Groups, and search for the Passer-X build log. Post #161 shows my servo installation (I've since replaced the servos in the pic with 2 x HXT 900).

planador muito bom, montei com a configuração:
motor: 2830/1000kv
bateira 1.8A/ 11.1V
Helice: 9x5
Ficou muito rapido e muito bom para termicas, o Kit tem que ser melhorado, pois vem com algumas coisas para terminar.
Falta um freio aerodinamico, pois precisa de muito espaço para o pouso.

The plane was very packed (double boxed) and inner box and plane was undamaged. The fuse is very small and light. Canopy uses the wire retention method. The wings featured a very slim undercambered airfoil? The wings are also very strong but heavy. One wing had "C Grain" balsa for sheeting. This grade of balsa is grainy and is reserved for making wing ribs thus making this side of the wing heavier than the other. The wings seem well engineered though.

Hallo.
