finally the motor burned.
I replaced it with the stock one.It works ok but after 30 seconds of hover the motor is hot.
I canot say if it is normal or not.
I saw someone else had the same problem with this motor.

I have a problem that started when i used this speed controler.
Have this motor Turnigy E500 6T 4000Kv 200W Heli Motor on a blade 400 as a replace to stock motor. First i burned stock esc then i ordered hobbyking 50 amp with 11 $ and the this blade 400 was 30 % more powerfull that stock .
One very hot day and after flying 3 batteries hobbyking esc burned (no thermal protection the heli became a stone).
I ordered 60 amp turnigy TURNIGY Plush 60amp Speed Controller (i have 80 amp on my hk500gt). Now that i test it the motor after 4 second hover is extremely hot and smells. It still works but after 3 second become very very hot.
What is the problem? I did not changed anything on the heli. It was flying perfect with previous esc.
Timming was low and i changed to med but i had same problem

I don't have any BEC voltage with this ESC. The manual says that the BEC is "switch" and is capable of 5V/3Ac. What does "switch" mean and how do I activate the BEC voltage? Also, what does "linear" mean for BEC?
|
|
|
| |
|
359fishing
(67%)
Switch mode BEC will deliver full 3A current across the stated voltage range 5.6v to 22v (2 to 6 Lipo cells). With a linear mode BEC the current available to the reciver and servos drops as cells are added (ie. more cells equals less servos). If you do not have 5v between the red and black- wire, there is a likely problem with the BEC and you will have to return it as I don't think it has an "off" switch in the programming (check your manual as some ESCs do). Before you return it, check to see if the solder connection to the PC board is good. I had a bad one on plush 30a and simlpy re-soldered it myself and replaced the shrink wrap. Take care as HobbyKing may not want take it back after you have removed the shrink wrap.

Hi,
"Linear" and "Switching" are two kind of Voltagregulator.
But regardeless of this, you must always have 5V on your conector to the RX. with this Voltage you supplied the RX and all the Servos on it.
If you dont have any voltage on the RX-Plug the ESC wil be broken.

Just received my PLUSH-60A Controller to be used with a Turnigy C5065-400 Outrunner. It is labeled 5.6V - 26V. I was planning on using it with 8S LiFe cells that would have a max Voltage of about 28.8 V when resting after a fresh charge. Of course, as soon as a load was applied, they would drop to about 24-26V. Question - Would this ESC handle this condition or should I order the 80A version? I don't plan to pull more than 40 or 50 Amps when flying.

Hi, 80A version can also handle only 26V as both are on same circuitboard. You have to find some other ESC that can handle higher voltage or don't charge to full you LiFE batteries. Options could be a) TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV 5-12S b) Turnigy Super Brain 100A Brushless ESC c) TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV 5-12S BESC (Ver4). WBR JonesRC

Flight time is the same than my previous config without governor mode.

QUOTE"are the ESC's OK for 6 cells" Yes Fred they are. Some motors must be run at high timing, and low throttle stutter is not uncommon but it's a solid ESC at 6S LiPo.
Joao, for LiFe the lowest LiPo cutoff voltage is 2.6v/cell. You could use NiMH setting and medium cutoff (45% of initial voltage) or high (60%). Definitely use 60% for the LiFe break-in period (first ~20 flights)

I let it beep and after about 2 minutes the beep stopped and I got my controls back. Then again after a few minutes it repeats the single short beep again with loss of controls.
