Why did HK discontinue the USBasp AVR programing cable PRODUCT ID: 9171000003. it is a direct plug in for flashing the 9XR. It is also prefect for mod to the 9X. HK please bring it back.
Thanks NewToHobbyKing there are a lot to chose from. They all use different technology,ACCST,DSMX,DSM2,DSMSS,FASST.Is there one that is better,or are all the same. They all say they are the best.
Michael no some are better than other. I do find the more you pay the better the standard. Also it is a bit like football teams. Some are made for the blues yet others will say the purple team is the best. I stuck with Turnigy9XV2 because all my receivers are Turnigy9XV2 or compatible. I also like DSM2 so I would go Orange but many love FrSky.
Michael also there is a Orange one that is a lot more OPEN: OrangeRx Open LRS 433MHz TX Module (JR/Turnigy compatible) (SKU: 9171000146) (Note: The setup and use of Open LRS requires computer programming skills and basic Arduino experience. This is not a "plug and play" system.)
Michael well HobbyKing has told you a couple above in the "Combined and Related Items" So we have OrangeRX DSMX/DSM2 2.4Ghz Transmitter Module (JR/Turnigy compatible) AND Corona 2.4Ghz JR Module & Rx (V2 DSSS) AND X8 2.4GHz Combo pack for JR W/ Module & RX AND FrSky DJT 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR w/ Telemetry Module & V8FR-II RX AND FlySky module AND Modded Turnigy9XV2 Modules. I hope this helps.
NCR but that is what I was try to say. YOU CAN. FLYSKY make a module that does the job! I thought that was the one you were pointing too. I WAS WRONG as I said, when you said "FrSky" I mis read it as "FlySky". FlySky is the answer to the problem but not as yet sold by HobbyKing. I AM SORRY MY MISTAKE.
NCR and so does the "FLYSKY" module. AS I keep saying "SORRY I miss read your first answer". The FlySky module lets you us Turnigy9XV2 Receivers. (Which is what Igor wanted I think!!) SORRY AGAIN.
So if you use the right module it will work with Turnigy9XV2 receivers. Now this could be a modded Turnigy9XV2 or the look a like module. From "FlySky"
Look, If he bought this radio then what I told him is correct and will work. I answered his question as to the purchase of the Turnigy module. But I understand some people just have to find a reason to be right regardless or to pose an issue. I will make no further replies to you.I SEE YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE.
NewToHobbyKing, If Igor purchases what I listed he will receive a receiver with the module. Pretty simple hu? Do all of your homework before being so questionable. *o) BY the way, According to the staff at HK you can not buy just the Turnigy module as it is not sold as a stand alone item.
Igor, You can't get the Turnigy module. It is not sold as a stand alone item. I ordered the same one and this is what Im using and it works great. FrSky DJT 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR w/ Telemetry Module & V8FR-II RX $36.40 In stock from Hobby King.
NOTE: You will need to mill the plastic from around the header pins to get the module to seat down all the way.
NCR why did you not reply to Igor. "YOU CAN". Also Igor wants to bind to a Quad but does not say what receiver he is using. So if he gets the module. you recommend, what if he is not using a compatible receiver??????
NCR I am so sorry I though you were helping Igor find a module to us Turnigy9XV2 receiver. This is what he was asking for. See it is easier if you reply under his question. MY MISTAKE. I THOUGHT YOU SAID "FLYSKY not FRSKY". Very sorry. You were not helping Igor SORRY.
Answered his question and told him how to get up and going. All you have done is criticize me. You have been totally no help, can't believe you are a PRO Contributor. A professional helps not complains and whines.
Damn man! I'm new to all of this and a friend of mine said, that i shoud buy this Transmitter WITHOUT module. Now I have the problem, that my quad won't take off, because I don't have a module :(
Do you guys know where I can buy a module for the Turingy 9X?
Thanks a lot!
Igor so NCR above has replied and told you where you can get a module, that will let this work with Turnigy V2 receivers. But I must ask what receiver are you using with your QUAD? Because not only do you not get a Module you also do not get a receiver. You need a receiver to bind to!
What do you think I was telling him? What I suggested will work just fine and answered his question also. I see you are just a natural born Jack Ass with nothing better to do than try and be a smart ass. I would appreciate it if you would keep your trap out of my post. Thank You.
Sorry no need to be RUDE. Igor if you wish your Turnigy9X to work like a Turnigy9XV2 then you can buy a Module from FlySky (just search it) that will let you use Turnigy9XV2 Receivers!
Help w/ new model set up
Good morning all. Last night, I tried to get a new bird in the air, but couldn't. I have a Turnigy 9x, orange 2.4 DSM2 module, and ORX 7ch receiver w/ failsafe, DJI NAZA V2 - Has anyone set up a 2nd model like this? Just looking for basics on how to set up a new model with the right settings and save it. We were able to BIND using the SBUS, BUT ... some of the controls (ie, throttle) was not right. W/ the SBUS, I didn't know how to correct this issue (given I can't just start swapping the cabling. I'm a newbie and had help last night, but my friend wasn't familiar with the Trunigy/ORX products - any help would be great! Thanks in advance - happy flyin!!
Luckydogg,
If you can find the info you are looking for on programming the 3 way switch, please let me know as I am in the same boat. I have to get into hover mode - 2 blue light flashes to reset the gyro.
Manual? Having trouble mixing the three position switch for use with an autopilot. I have seen it completed but know need to map the three position switch for an standard plane - acro.
If you are using a F-y dos go to your Auxelery settings. On chan 5, change to pitch trim. You can use the knob to set all 3 flight modes and calibrate the Gyro. This thing has caused alot of hair loss to figure out LoL.......
This message for all people that support me on my Tricop project,is finnally flying. Special thankz to Crono1124, your advice, was at the very beginning little disappointing, cz I already done al what you adviced me, But at the very end you throough out the last line, that said: Er... CW *PROP on any motor that spins CW :). need more coffee...hope you remember....that one, naild it...I didnt have no idea that Prop as well come in CW or CCW, and they should match the mottor rotation...Best advice ever. I still have to do some tweecks on the adjustment, but I am ready to go...Thankz so Much again Crono1124, U ROCK!
Which radio you guys recommend? 9X or 9XR, since they have almost the same price. I have a FrSky DJT V8FR-II module. I saw some guys saying about some problems in 9XR gimbals...
9XR is really better??
If you get the 9x you will have to do several mods to make it like the 9xr already is. The 9xr comes with Er9x firmware already loaded which is infinitely better IMO than the stock 9x firmware. It comes with a back light which is an easy mod and the gimbals are supposed to be better. I have both the 9x and the 9xr and the gimbals on the 9xr feel slightly smoother but not enough for me to say definitively that they are better. Also the Stock 9x requires you to modify the module bay in order to fit in the DJT module. The 9x does not have this issue. again easy mods once you know what your doing but due to the prices being so close i'd just go with the 9xr.
Hi i am new to quadcopters can someone tell me what the channels are(I AM USING THE KK2.0 BOARD)( CH1 AIL )(CH2 ELE)( CH3 THR)( CH4 RUD)( CH5 AUX) IS THIS CORRECT \THANK YOU
Mine came with no instruction manual
On the KK2.0 Board from top to bottom the channels are as you described. Ail,ELE,THR,Rud,Aux1. This matches the default setup on the Turnigy9x Ch1=AIL, Ch2=ELE, Ch3=THR, Ch4=Rud, Ch5=Gear Sw(Top right front switch). Of course this assumes no new firmware has been added to your Tx that allows you to select any switch for any feature....
Hi, is it there a really good reference video, on how to do a full setup of this radio for a Trcopter-KK2.0Board. My pretty machine is really assembled, but still not lifting, it tends to flip over the right mott, I switch the letf and right mpttprs, but still...Please dont send me to RCgroups, Ill readey been there...and not really helpfulll. I need to propper set up this radio, step by step. Thanz.!!!
Jorge, there are a few things that could be causing your issue with the KK2.0 Board. It is however easy to troubleshoot. First go to the menu on your KK2 and verify your rx channels. When you move you Tx Thr make sure your Thr chan is being adjusted. This will help solve any Tx related issues. Secondly go to show motor layout in the menu section. Verify that you have selected Tricopter as your config. If it is not selected go back to the select motor layout screen and select tricopter. Once you have the proper layout in the show motor layout screen step through each one of the screens and verify that you have the proper motor rotation for each motor. Each step will show you a specific motor and which way it is supposed to rotate. If you find a motor is rotating the wrong direction simply reverse any two wires coming from your ESC to the motor and it will spin in the other direction. Once it is spinning in the right direction make sure you have a CW motor on any motor that spins CW and visa versa. Lastly with the KK2 on a completely level surface calibrate the accelerometers. It is important to only plug in the KK2 while it is on a level surface. If you have your model flipped to plug in the battery and then flip it again to the proper flying orientation you'll be surprised just how easy it flips after THR application. Best of luck to you and let us know how it works out!
Supersenior above is a Purple File Tab, in there is a manual. Not English, if you want an English manual go to the international warehouse listing and you will find it there.

I have this radio with the FrSky DJT telemetry system. Added backlight made a big improvement on the screen. I've modded it with ER9X FrSky firmware, also need a little modification inside the DJT module to get the telemetry data on the 9x screen. Well worth the effort. It's a killer combo matching or exceeding far more expensive systems. The radio coverage on the FrSky system is amazing and the programming possibilities of the ER9X firmware is just splendid! In all: a great product bog stock with DJT, and with some mods it's just excellent in both performance and options. Only downside is that it's not the best build quality.

I have 2 and extremely happy. One is fully modded with frsky telemetry and er9x software and as others mention well worth it. Please google ersky9x and you will see a killer replacement board, no soldering with full frsky telemetry and more. Perhaps expensive for some but still worth it compared to other brand name telemetry radios for people not into soldering.
