Purchases of any other rebranded version of the TURNIGY 9X will not have the latest firmware and patches(even the OEM factory does not have these updates).

When will this be available again? I didn't realize how hard the module was to remove from the regular 9x, and am likely to send my new (not yet received) 9x back and get one like this.

Actually it's much easier than you think. There is lots on info on YouTube. Once you remove it, it will be like the other, only you will have to find a custom cap to cover the removed antenna hole.

Hello, Does it have a trainer port?
 Octavio 10 points
Yes mate, but extra soldering is required. Search on YouTube, there is at least one good tutorial.

Where can I find an antenna replacement rubber plug?

I have a problem with this radio can anyone help me? I dont know why but my outputs are all wrong. My throttle is on the aileron stick, aileron is on rudder... I tried changing through all stick settings but i always have some channels on the wrong stick.
 NewToHobbyKing 13961 points
Richard lets assume you have the Modes correct. This is a Mode 2 and the Throttle in on the Left Up and Down. Now what module are you using and what receiver. Some (DSM 2 / X) are TAER and others are AERT. You can change this in the Menu of the Transmitter!

Sorry you may not have this Option and can Flash or Work around it!

this radio can be switched from mode 1 to mode 2 in the menu. just hold down the two buttons next to the screen labeled menu and exit then select system in the menu.the menu button is used as enter and the exit as go back this will open a new set of options, go to stick set and select mode 2. those numbers it shows on that screen are the channel numbers.

My module is Orange DIY 2.4 DSM2/X and reciever is Orange Rx R620
 NewToHobbyKing 13961 points
Why did you buy a DIY Module and Orange Module? Also in the menu I do not think you can swap AETR to TAER. Can you?

Is there telemetry on this or 9xr?
 Sam.Cee 58 points
Only if you flash to open Tx and use a FrSky DJT or a Telemetrez with a smartieparts 9x board.

I have this radio with the FrSky DJT telemetry system. Added backlight made a big improvement on the screen. I've modded it with ER9X FrSky firmware, also need a little modification inside the DJT module to get the telemetry data on the 9x screen. Well worth the effort. It's a killer combo matching or exceeding far more expensive systems. The radio coverage on the FrSky system is amazing and the programming possibilities of the ER9X firmware is just splendid! In all: a great product bog stock with DJT, and with some mods it's just excellent in both performance and options. Only downside is that it's not the best build quality.

I have 2 and extremely happy. One is fully modded with frsky telemetry and er9x software and as others mention well worth it. Please google ersky9x and you will see a killer replacement board, no soldering with full frsky telemetry and more. Perhaps expensive for some but still worth it compared to other brand name telemetry radios for people not into soldering.

I have the Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter, and the Sky Fly 9X Transmitter, is this the same as the sky fly? if so there is a FrSKY 2.4GHz JR Combo Pack that plugs in to it and all you have to do is bind it! and you get 1.5 K out of the box! what a great set up! what more can you ask for for less then $150.US?
