Turnigy nano-tech 1300mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack (USA Warehouse)

Turnigy nano-tech 1300mah 3S 25~50C Lipo Pack (USA Warehouse)

More than just a fancy name. TURNIGY nano-tech lithium polymer batteries are built with an LiCo  nano-technology substrate complex greatly improving power transfer making the oxidation/reduction reaction more efficient, this helps electrons pass more freely from anode to cathode with less internal impedance.
In short; less voltage sag and a higher discharge rate than a similar density lithium polymer (non nano-tech) battery.
For those that love graphs, it means a straighter, longer curve. For pilots it spells stronger throttle punches and unreal straight-up performance.
Excellent news for 3D pilots!

Unfortunately with other big brands; numbers, ratings and graphs can be fudged. Rest assured, TURNIGY nano-techs are the real deal, delivering unparalleled performance!

The nano-core technology in lithium ion batteries is the application of nanometer conductive additives.
1) The nanometer conductive additives form ultrastrong electron-conducting networks in the electrodes which can increase electronic conductivity.
2) These additives create a superstrong ability for imbibition in the carrier liquid to supply more ion channels. This improves the ability of ion transmission and ion diffusion.
Through improving electronic conductivity and ion transmission, the impedance is reduced and the polarization of high rate discharge decreases greatly.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries;
-Power density reaches 7.5 kw/kg.
-Less Voltage sag during high rate discharge, giving more power under load.
-Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mΩ compared to that of 3mΩ of a standard Lipoly.
-Greater thermal control, pack usually doesnt exceed 60degC
-Thickness swelling during heavy load doesnt exceed 5%, compared to 15% of a normal Lipoly during heavy load.
-Higher capacity during heavy discharge. More than 90% at 100% C rate.
-Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
-Longer Cycle Life, almost double that of standard lipoly technology.

Does this have a male or female xt60?
 SkyDanz 13 points
It is a female xt60 as most battery leads will be female. Less chance of exposed leads to short.

Since this battery has a 5C charge rate? What is the maximum amperage? Can these little batteries handle a 5C Charge rate?
 underthetire 409 points
5CX1.3A=6.5 amp charge rate. Can they handle it? Probably fine, but i usually don't charge over 2C, and thats only at the field.

thanks!

i charge mine at 4c. even then they get a little warm. i would not recommend charging faster than that, or you may lose an eyebrow (and anything within 10 feet of the battery when it fails)
 dwpennington 9 points
5Cx1.3A=6.5 amps, i have charged these batteries several times at 5A(the max my charger allows), and havent experienced any swelling or heating issues, but my charger also decreases amperage as the battery draws near a full charge, i have 4 of these packs and all perform flawlessly
 metoo 58 points
the charger decreasing amperage as the battery draws near a full charge is normal
 ALLAN 32 points
Agree with the above 6.5 amps, but if you are calculating power supply needs (and charger capacity) note that you should probably add 1-1.5 more amps due to the draw from the power supply and the charger itself. I also have four of these batteries and they've been great. I usually charge at 1.3 amps or less but have gone up to 2 amps**I just don't like nuking my batteries, but my power supply could handle the 5C if I decide to make it interesting one day *-)

Have any of the packs "puffed" on any of you?
 underthetire 409 points
Not yet. Had a std pack puff, left it fully charged in the hot car. My fault.

I have not either, and I have 6 of them. I ran a couple pretty hard (read to hard) and they got hot, but never puffed.
 Cookieman0916 7 points
I have 7 of these nano- tech batteries, they are durable. Hobbyzone puff after two hard hot cycles. These don't great battery. Don't run any battery to low per cell. Happy flying!
 Peter 53 points
I've had some get a little tiny bit but never been an issue. They stay balanced and have over 150 or so cycles already. Credit for good karma and happy flying! Haha

1 thumbs up!
I use these batteries in my AR Drone (2.0) and they work great! So much more flight time than the stock battery! They fit very well in the drone with absolutely no modification. You will need to change the plug or get an an adapter to mini tamiya though.

I highly recommend.

well i've had these batteries for a little over 6 months, i have right around 100 cycles on them, and one by one they've been crapping out, they charge ok, but just dont have the energy, they've gone from 7-8 min flight times down to less than a minute,

Wow, this is a great battery. It holds voltage under load better than most. I use it in my ALES glider pulling 21 amps. It launches several times without any reduction in power. I'm very impressed and highly recommend.

Well i ordered 4 of these on Monday 10/31/2011 from the USA warehouse and got them today Thursday 11/3/2011 in the mail. They arrived well packaged and in excellent condition, all balanced at 3.08V per cell. Have flown my P51 mustang with 1, and performed flawlessly. The size and weight is ideal for scratch built foamies. Will be putting 1 in my Wild Hawk glider tomorrow. Don't consider buying, buy them you will not be sorry. the turnigy rang of Nano Teck battery's are awesome. ill not go back to regular Lipo's..
