Hi dupre, This motor is a bit longer than the stock motor that comes with the Flyzone Sensai, but it would have plenty of power for that plane. The only issue is whether the cowl would have to be shifted/cut to fit the motor. Cheers, EA!

Hi Gianluca, Your 35A ESC is a good match for the motor. The Radian uses a folding prop, but that should not be a problem. A 9x5, 9x6, 10x5 will all work fine, but if you have the folding prop that came with the plane (9.75 x 7.5 Folding Prop) then use that and see if you're happy with it. It's a higher pitch because the motor that comes with the Radian is a lower kV so it needs a higher pitch. Cheers, EA!

Hi Gianluca, My pleasure! Thanks for the credit. If you use the 9.75 x 7.5 Folding Prop you'll actually get lots of speed/thrust, but it's at the high end of prop size/pitch you can use on this motor with a 3S. Go easy on the full throttle runs or you'll drain a 1500mah/3S very quickly. Cheers, EA!
Hi rocknroller, Go with the 30A ESC. This is a very powerful motor and will pull more than 25A on a 3S if you run a 9x6 or bigger prop. If you push it hard with the 25A Plush you're risking an ESC failure resulting in a crash. Cheers, EA!
Hi! I'm planning to use 11x4.7 prop which will drain bunch of A, I guess. Unfortunately I don't have 30 A ESC, but have some 40A Plush in spare. Good part - it wont get hot! Lol

Hi rocknroller, Thanks for the credit. The Plush 40A will work great. A little heavier than a 30A, but the peace of mind is worth the extra weight. I was running a 11x5.5 prop on a HK BlueSeries 30A and it was pulling just over 29A, so I switched to the BlueSeries 40A ESC. It has been bullet-proof and actually added some extra power at full throttle. These motors really perform well. Mine is on a Yak55 EPP 3D (AUW 800g) and the verticals are awesome. Cheers, EA!
Hi Jack, Don't worry about which wire goes to A, B, c on the ESC, as is doesn't matter and you can't hurt the motor by connecting it wrong. The only important thing is whether the motor turns in the right direction. If it runs backwards, swap any to wires from the motor to the ESC and it will reverse the direction of rotation. Hi Dale, I've never run mine at settings higher than 8K, but some quick research to indicate that a setting higher than 8K is likely to cause more problems than improvements in performance. Use the 8K setting for starters, as this is likely to be the best setting for this motor in terms of power vs. flight time/heat losses/etc. After you've flown a few flights on this setting you can try upping the timing to 16K to see if there's any noticeable improvement, but the likely result will be shorter flight time and hotter motor. Hi vrwolf, Your plane must be under 600g because it looked like it was shot out of a cannon. I use this motor on a 820g Yak55 3D and it's great. Try a 11x55.5 and you may get even more thrust without losing flight time. Thanks for the video. Cheers, EA!

Hi Nello, Estimated AUW on the HZ supercub w/o floats is 715g. With floats your AUW will be 900g-1000g. I fly this on a 820g 3D plane w/10x5 prop and get over 1200g of thrust. You'll need at least a 1600mah/3S (preferably 1800mah) to get reasonable flight times. Recommended prop on the HZ supercub is a 9x6 which will give similar thrust. It will not only fly the supercub, but will pull it straight up once it's off the water. Cheers, EA!
I also use this motor on a hobbyzone supercub woth floats and leds lol. It has a turnigy 30 amp esc and plenty of poer this way, you have to buy a special brushless cnc motor mount. You can get them from ebay for around $17.
yes, given he weight and setup of this particular plane it should suit it just fine. Most of the people ive seen are running a 28xx mm outrunner. i had this motor on a sig 4 star 20 and it had plenty of power. Just remember to get the higher kv version as you will need to run as smaller prop
to clear the tail boom of this plane.
Mainly by Watt (Amps x Voltage). Or just use the thrust power if available (or by measurement). Kv is for the RPM, lower kv means you have to use bigger propeller but limited to the max amps the motor can withdraw. High kV motor with overrated prop can cause the motor to burn. Check the motor's spec to determine the appropriate prop.
I have a t-28 it has a 480-960kv would this motor fit the same holes to bolt it up straight across the motor the bolt holes are 1 inch but bolt to bolt is 3/4 inch the best i can read with my old eyes.?
Hi kurtis, The Park480/1320kv should bolt right into the same holes as the 960kv. If, for some reason the mounting cross has been made different just for the t-28, then swap the old mounting cross over to this motor, as the holes on the 2 motors will still be a match. Cheers, EA
This motor is perfect for the Yak55. I'm running one on my Yak with a HK BlueSeries 30A ESC and 1800mah/3S or 2200mah/3S and it's just right for 3D. Hovers at just over 1/2 throttle and rockets vertical at full throttle. I've switched back and forth between 11x3.8, 10x4.7, and 10x3.8 props but don't have a particular favorite. I fly lots of ground level 3D moves so this motor has taken a pounding from the occasional bounces but it just keeps running great. Cheers, EA
Hi chops, I don't own the 1020kv version of this motor, but looking at the specs my gut says it's won't have near as much punch as the 1320kv. The max current rating for the 1320kv is 28A, so you should see almost 350W on a 3S lipo. The 1020kv is only rated for 22A max (28A burst for 15s) which is a big drop. It would fly the Yak, but not with the power needed for 3D style flying. Cheers, EA

Hi San, The NTM35-30/1100kv never performed as well as the Park480, so I dumped it after a few flights and went back to this motor. There's a NTM35-30/1400kv available from the AU warehouse that's rated at 420W which might equal the performance of the Park480, but I'm happy with this motor for now. It takes heaps of abuse and the occasional premature landing without missing a beat. Cheers, EA

Hi San, Are you planning on using this motor with the Yak55 EPP 3D (the big yellow one, PRODUCT ID: YAK55-EPP-KIT) and a 1300mah/3S LiPo? 2 problems pop into my head: 1) That plane won't balance out using a 1300mah/3S pack unless you can think of a way to hang it in front of the prop. 2) this motor draws 25A-30A, depending on the prop you use, which means your pulling 20C out of your 1300mah pack. Not only bad for the pack, but flight time will definitely be less than 5 minutes. Good luck! Cheers, EA
Hi San, I had a quick look at the listing for the Yak55 and, sure enough, HK specs the battery capacity as 1300mah-1800mah. The plane balance out just right for 3D (slightly tail-heavy) with an 1800mah/3S, but it will fly extremely tail-heavy with only a 1300mah/3S up front. I run both 1800/3S and 2200/3S packs in this plane. I prefer the way it flies on the 1800's, but get longer flight times and a better price on the 2200 nano-tech (w/buddy code) so I'm slowly wearing out my 1800's and going with 2200's as replacement. Can I fit 11x4.7 prop to this motor with Turnigy Plush 30A? Or should I use smaller prop i.e. 9050? I plan to build a quadcopter with different motors instead of using my DT750's.
Hi khairuv, The Park480/1320 will turn a 11x4.7, but you won't see much more thrust than you get from a 10x4-10x5 prop. With the 11x4.7 you'll probably draw 32A-34A at full throttle which will be pushing your Plush 30A pretty hard. I use this motor on a 3D plane. Started with a 11x4.7SF, but eventually backed off to a 10x4.7 and have been very happy with the performance. Cheers, EA
I fitted 1045CW/CCW and my quad just went vertical under 30% throttle!!! Very low throttle needed to make it hover but then I cannot land (out of throttle, ATTI-GPS mode)! Have to shut down the motors and catch it. These motors are too powerful for my quad setup. Need to fit smaller blades so I can reach 50% hover, or fit some more load. Currently using DJI Naza, 3000mAH LiPo and AUW is 1450gr (all in). Plan to fit a 5000mAH LiPo and 9050 blades, AUW estimated 1600gr. Based on eCalc, it will still be overpowered!...

Yes u can use these motors, the kilavolt seems to be at about the right range. Just be sure you use the best prop for not pulling to many amps but providing good thrust:)
Hi Travis, This motor is designed for 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo only. It may run on a 4-cell, but probably wouldn't put out much more power than you could get from a >1800mah 3-cell. With that in mind, I can tell you that I'm flying a Yak55 3D EPP at 820g flying weight on this motor with 1800mah 3S and a 10x4 prop and this motor is awesome. Hovers at 1/2 throttle. Cheers!
Oh, forgot the other part of your question. Yes, 40A ESC would be a good choice for this motor. The specs may say peak current is 28A, but I've measured 35A at full throttle with the set-up I described above. The motor comes down warm, but not hot, so I think it's comfortable pushing more than 30A. Cheers!

Hi Travis, Thanks for the credit. Yes, the 2200/2500 4S batteries will certainly give much longer flight times at the same power (watts) consumption as you would get from an 1800mah 3S. But it's the higher watts that burn up motors if you push to much wattage/amperage throughout a flight. Just make sure your set-up isn't drawing more than 30A and you may be okay using 4S with this motor. Cheers!

Hi Daniel, This motor will handle 9in. and 10in. props just fine, but keep the pitch low on the bigger props. A 9x5 or a 10x4 would give great performance without pulling too many amps. Cheers!
Hi estero, There's no reason to color code the wires, as they are interchangeable on all outrunner motors. You'll find more and more motor/ESC makers have gone to straight black wires. They're bare ended because connector type is a matter of personal choice for most fliers. 3.5mm polymax bullet connectors are the most commonly used connectors. Cheers, EA
Would most likely still do alright even though the kv is lower. The turnigy D2826-6 would be a good replacement for it I think, same general size and kv ... and it's cheaper then the park480 :)
Hi Jay, This motor would work well on the Stryker, but you will need to use a higher pitch prop if you want to compensate for the lower KV (1320kv vs 2200kv on the stock motor). The Stryker is approx. 850g which is the same as the 3D plane I have this motor on. I'm turning a 11x3.8 prop with about 1300g thrust, so there'll be plenty of power to turn a smaller high pitch (8x8 maybe?) prop on the Stryker.
Hi Jay, This motor appears to be a virtual clone of the 480 motor that comes with the Stryker. The can diameter is 35mm, so it's easy to check the fit if you already have the plane. Cheers!
I would say no. the mounting on this motor is reversed, shaft size too big for standard pinion gear and the kv is too low.
If you look in brushless motors under heli motor category you'll find some there 3500kv very first one is for 450 class (turnigy typhoon)
I'm currently building a Sig riser 100" glider kit and want to make it an EP, can anyone tell me if this would make a good motor for it and if not recommend one that would fit correctly? Not sure how to choose the right motor.
I think its too small for a 100 inch glider , Ive used an e-flite 480/1020 kv on a spirit 100 inch glider and it worked but its very slow to climb , can be stalled easily with this slow climb , it is very under powered .
Its doubtful that this 480/1320 motor will have enough power to do much better than the e-flite 480/1020kv

Im looking for a good choice of motor for the HK Yak 55 3d 1096mm. Have had suggestion to get this motor but have also heard that this isnt quite powerful enough.
Im looking for a motor that will allow for hoover and a strong pull out from hoover. The yak 55 1096 is 650 gram airframe (1.43lbs) according to stats. Says up to 35mm motor so is that the diameter?

I have this motor on a PA Katana Mini, 600g, and the performance is awesome on such a light 3D plane. The weight specs for the yak55 are 690g-760g. That should be the AUW (including battery), but sometimes they quote the flying weight w/o batt. For this plane 750g seems about right. That said, you want at least 1000g thrust for basic aerobatics and closer to 1300g-1400g thrust for extreme 3D. This motor is right on the edge of that at 275W, but the weight (80g) is fairly low for this much power,
This motor looks very much like it is a clone of the eflite park 480 series. The dimensions are exact and the weight once connectors are added would only be a gram or 2 out. They look almost identical as well. I'm going to have to give it a try. Appears to be a bargain seeing it is a 3rd of the price of the eflite one. I have a feeling this is going to be a solid investment. Thanks so long HK.
the bolt pattern is not like the e-flite park 480 ,
thats what I didn't like , it appears to be a copy of the e-flite park 480 and is called the park 480 but the bolt pattern is the same as parkzone 480 , so its not a direct replacement for an e-flite 480
. what was turnigy thinking when they designed this 480 1320 motor , it is the same dimensions as the eflite motor but cant be used as a replacement because of the bolt pattern and it cant replace the parkzone 480 the one the bolt pattern is a copy of because its the wrong dimensions ,too short. I know people are using it but your going to need a mount for it , its not an easy match for anything .
Most come with the connectors so if your reading the weight it hasn't been included as they may not be presoldered therefore the extra weight of the solder and the connectors. And the combos reflect the options you 'could' go with if you don't already have them.
Anyone knows if this motor can be mounted "facing" back and be able move the shaft to the rear facing forward? I bought it for a (The wings maker) "Handyman". I bought this motor for it and now I realized it needs to be mounted backwards. Anyway, the motor is on it's way from HK to me, just hope I'll be able to fit it in without too much hassle. :-)
