This is just a kit and a motor. You will need a speed controller, reciever with delta mixing, 2 servos and battery.
valerio  1 points - 5/31/2013

Qual esc usar pra esse motor?
 Torstein 2 points
The "TURNIGY Plush 6A /.8bec/6g Speed Controller" works fine, buy it from the related items box under the "ADD TO CART" button and save $3.
Robert H.  2 points - 5/28/2013

Does hk carry the motors connector for the esc that match what is on the motor.
eduardo  1 points - 5/23/2013

does the motor come with the connectors that connect to the esc?
sam  6 points - 4/28/2013

is the motor soldered
 josh 2 points
what do u mean soldered?
 Torstein 2 points
The motor comes with a strange connector that won't fit regular ESCs, you'll probably have to solder it yourself.

Flies great like it is, but I bought an extra to experiment with. First change is a workable rudder. Should be able to make it spin almost in place.
 Robert H. 2 points
What did you use for gear?

So how did you go. I do not think it will spin in the air. It will be interesting though.

I love it cheap and fun flying backyard.... Wanting to buy more.... When will it restock?

It's in now.

Anyone tried to put on SG51R servo? It weights 5g each.. Will it work?
wildthawn  245 points - 1/5/2013

what is this made of epo - epp - eps - plastic or concrete magic or what???
 Sawdust 1632 points
Try looking about half an inch above the "COMPARE" button. The compare button is to the left of and slightly above the price.
 wildthawn 245 points
it says epo but they are really made of epp thats a good thing if ya fly like i do
 Sawdust 1632 points
It doesn't look anything like epp.
I haven't got one, I can only go by what they say and what I can see.
Can somebody else who's got one please clarify?
 Ral fRotten 1202 points
There's a few further down the discussion saying it's condensed EPP, epp or epo both are good.
Benjamin  29 points - 11/24/2012

Use you imagination with this and you can do all sorts of fun things.

Bought this last year and love it. I fly it indoors to the thrill of the crowd. Buying another to keep in reserve.

Nail clippers work well to cut off the plastic strip too, or just file it down with sandpaper
photecs  15 points - 11/5/2012

Bought the Bat - have not been able to fly it yet, as I also bought the "suggested" rx/esc/2.5 g servos' from HK too... The servo's won't plug into the orange 410 rx, and there is no way to get the esc to plug into the rx either! HELP! Someone has bought this and successfully flown it!
 Allan 1 points
You need to remove the small excess ridge of plastic from the connections as they are designed to fit futaba recievers. Use a sharp pair of wirecutters. You can use a sharp knife if you want but is a bit more tricky and easier to cut yourself, so be very careful if using the knife. Then you have to make sure you connect them the right way round, this is the case with a lot of servos when using jr/spectrum recievers. The small flange ensures they are connected the right way round with futaba recievers. Hope this helps.

on the Orange Rx there is a list of what pin is what throt, rud etc. THe dark wire of the 3 wires ( be it black , brown) goes away from the list. We use to say for new pilots, brown is down ( it can also be black)
Hope that helps
 Robert H. 2 points
Did you get your gear connected I bought the same gear everything has different connectors.

would this be a hard plane to put together as a noob
 rodandwhip 5 points
Easy to build, but can be twitchy to fly. Make sure you use a lot of expo and make small control movements.
 tommy2toes 2160 points
run two pieces foam from front to back following the inside curve exactly and go from 2 inches in front gradually to 0 inches rear this will create a foil and stabilizes the whole plane then do low passes 6 inches off the ground all day its wonderfull!
 rodandwhip 5 points
Please explain further. Where in relation to center line to mount the foam?
 tommy2toes 2160 points
from the front tip begin by placing the foam there begin to follow that so it keeps the circle curves but then look all the way to the back the tip furthest outside let the foam take a circular route leading from the front to the rear be even on both sides

hi**is the heat shrinking hard to do? can i use a hair dryer? thx
 FlyRcFly 1744 points
Heat shrinking is very very easy if you have the correct tools. Many use hair dryers but they never work perfectly. Get a cheap hot air gun. Then you will never have any problems. I also use my hot air gun, on low, to tighten up wing covering.
 photecs 15 points
You can also use a lighter - just hold it about 3" away from the shrink tube.
RCMANIAA  53 points - 5/17/2012

i need the motor mount (wood maiden) please sell it HK.
 Kellyann 16240 points
RCMANIAA HK has gotten better with parts with over 210 parts listed in Replacement Parts. But NOT that part. Please I am sure you can make one yourself. I hope I do not offend you!!

Is this EPO foam?
 Jeff 28 points
It is made from EPP foam, not EPO.

does anyone know the weight of just the airframe?
Justin  4 points - 2/22/2012

can i use 610 mah?
 justincredibleg 132 points
You can, you will need to adjust your CG and it will be more sluggish but it is do-able
 wayne 55 points
Hello yes I fly mine on a 610 2 cell you have to get the battery as forward as possible without fouling the motor, it will need a good strong push to get it away and flying but one it has built up speed it flies fine
RCMANIAA  53 points - 1/8/2012

csn i use hxt 5gram servo? the 2,5gr servo is too expensive.
 Wazza_99 867 points
Need to keep the weight down sadly.
 tino 14 points
would those 5 gram's really mater that much

HI-CAN I USE A 2S 800Mah lipo? also is it pretty easy to build? about how long to build? thx
 joumana 23 points
800 mah is a bit heavy,i use 650 mah.Very easy to build maximum 3 hours!.The plane comes only 2 pieces to assemble. Please Please give credit :)

You can use an 800mA battery , Just flew mine with a 900mA today. just adjust so the CG is correct. I have been flying mine with a 5 x 4.3 gws prop. motor comes down cool> If you have not built the model yet I would add a couple of degrees of down thrust, to counter the tendency to ballon up with the addition of throttle. Great flying air plane I have three more in my cart right now!

 bdoets 280 points
There is not much to build. Just take care with the stickers (these are the stickyest stickers I've ever seen!) and apply them before putting the two plane halves together (manual says before in one place, and after in another...) and dont forget to order a spare prop.

what esc should i use if i use 4oomah to 610 mah

Can this Bat fly/use the normal 9g servo?
 Robachan 1099 points
9g servos will make it way too heavy. Use 2.5 to 3.7g servos.
 Kellyann 16240 points
They are a but heavy but if you extend the control rods past C of G you will get away with it. JUST
 leprud 7467 points
way too heavy..
 RCMANIAA 53 points
yes you can, this plane have 125gram thrust. if you use 9gr servo it will cost only 110gram total.

where is CG ?
 Bobo76 5 points
I have found the CG very close to wahat the manual said, 110mm from the front of the Prop
Jeff  28 points - 9/23/2011

What size servos does this need? What Rx size? Would a 6115E fit? or does it need a micro one like the nanolite or the nano orange Rx here?
 mike e 23 points
the smaller the better.
a micro 4 channel will do as you only
need throttle and elevon mixing at the tx.
otherwise you will need to fit a mixer circuit.

what is the mean of "Radio: 3ch with V-tail mixing (Required)"? Can i use Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx & Rx V2 (Mode 2) for this plane?
 Keetpilot 8 points
Unless you have the Tx with a program screen on it then you may have to connect the remote to your computer and use the programing software to adjust for "v-tail" mixing.
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 RCMANIAA 53 points
its mean the Hobby king 2,4ghz rx&rx v2 can't do it?
 Bobo76 5 points
Some radios have pre programmed mixes, for example different wing types, normal wing means one servo linked between to ailerons or flaperon is when 2 servos are used for the ailerons and they can be also used as flaps. This is the same with the tail, you can have elevons, V, tail ect this allows you to use preset functions and is available on all computer radios. hope this helps

1 thumbs up!
wow this is such a great plane and there is alot of little tricks to make it even better i cant wait to see what people do with it. maybe a 3s and a 3000kv 2730hexatronic 30amp esc/3bec upgrade to make the turbo bat! well i really want to see a bigger one since ive created a under foil that cures the stabilization pitchyness using two foam rails from 9mm epp! works as a low pass fast flyer slowflyer trick plane dive bommer i can go on! im buying another!!! tommy

mine arrived yesterday great packaging. assembly was easy and fast i used the recommended servos, esc, battery but used my 9x receiver. the prop kept on flying off so i removed it and used a folding prop from a mini swift. the plane fly's really easy just be careful to set dual rates and expo it's very sensitive but man does it fly good landings are a breeze to! im not to sure if it would suit a beginner but it may if you take it easy, the other good thing is you can trace it on paper and make spare parts from depron or other foam..

I would buy another one of these just because they are fun to fly once you get the bugs out.Expo down a bit.Flys great with a 5" prop.Place battery all the way forward left lower side facing away from you.Choose a calm day for test flight.I removed one crown because instructions were wrong about C of G and hinge tape poorly applied.Hot glue gun and some practice is all it takes. Can't go wrong for the money.

Lots of fun for such a low price. The motor came with some sort of 3-pin connector, but I cut that of and soldered it onto the ECS-wires. The propeller broke when mine got caught in the wind and got sent right into the ground, so I advise anybody who buys this to buy some spare propeller, and to stay away from heavy winds.
