which is better this or S2445-3890 Brushless Inrunner (3890kv)
 magnusEl 1213 points
You have to tell us what you are going to use it for, it is hard to give you advise if we dont no this...
It is not easy to compare a 98grams motor (S2445-3890) to this 180 g one.
 lilkrazy 18 points
im going to use for my 1 10 scale rc caar with a HobbyKing Brushless Car ESC 45A w/ Reverse
and Turnigy nano-tech 1800mah 2S 25~50C Lipo
AIRSOFT Pack
 magnusEl 1213 points
OK, it is many years since I raced rc cars, and I dont have experience of brushless systems on them, but I would strongly suggest that you go for this, cause it has almost dubble mass. It can surely take a beating better then the S2445, which is a 1/16 car motor.

Is this seriously only rated to 7.4V? What a pitty.
 erh7771 292 points
I'm sure it's not...HK is notorious for under-specing their motors. I'm going to try to abuse one here next month...gotta couple of em slow shipped to me.

Does this motor have a slotted stator? How many magnet poles does it have?
 magnusEl 1213 points
I dont think so, there is no cogging when spining it. It has 2 magnetic poles. Kv came out to bee 3500 meassured with K1 Kv meter at 11,6 volts.
Io was 2,5A.

Hi. Tested with EDF Ducted Fan Unit 5Blade 2.68inch 68mm intake lip mounted. After 15 mins balancing fan (almost to perfect balancing) I tested it with a 4S 2200 45C B Grade Lipo at full power with this results: Max current 62 Amp. Max power 940Watts. After 5 mins running at full power motor at only 55ºC. Great motor for power but be carefully, my bearings need been lubricated because the front one sound like a box of rocks before that. Motor handles very well current and seems capable of more. I only substract 1 star for bearing problem. Seems well made, and robust. Good deal anyway, a new EDF motor with impressive results, with this combination nothing to envy to Lander setups, except sound.

I am running this motor in the High Power 4bl fan, 70mm, on 4S without any problem: Zippy Compact 4S 3300 35C: 54A / 14,95V / 807W = 1.400 g thrust with intake lip. Motor stays cool even without any heatsink. I mounted this combo in my Habu and it performs much better than the original E-Flite fan. Very short take-offs and unlimited verticals are now possible. Great motor and great value!
