Can I use 3s lipo?

I don't understand how these could be rated 4 crowns. Two reviews, and in both of them, the fan fell off after testing.

defenitely! but i am trying to build a small balsa jet for it. the only downside is the price, i have seen bigger and stronger ones for much less money...

Yes, you've seen bigger and better. But has anyone seen smaller?
 killioughtta 426 points
Very true, Clinton! At 80,000 RPMs this is a crazy little unit! =D

1 thumbs up!
it works fine with my turnigy 6 amps esc on 2 cells lipo. plenty of thrust, but a little unbalanced. the fan is made from some strong plastic since it came of after some tests and hit the ceiling and is still alive. nothing broke off. now i only have to glue the fan back in place and balance it a litttle. anyways, great fan unit for my micro jet that i am building for it. i made my connectors from some servo plugs from which i took the pins out. those pins work great for these small motors.

I'm not very impressed. Bought 2 of these for a small foam glider conversion. Both were off-balance. After a few minutes of testing at home one of the impellers shot off across the room, and I damaged it trying to get it back on right. Had to order a 5 dollar replacement, which was off balance too. The motors are TINY and don't draw nearly as much current as they claim above. At 8.2V they are only drawing about 3.2 Amps (26.2W), and producing hardly any thrust (didn't measure it). I got them balanced better by inserting some thin sandpaper between the impeller and housing. I may try a 3-cell on them to see if that helps, but so far they are not living up to anywhere near their expensive price tag.
