Any charger will work i got the cheapest one and it charges 2 cells fine i have had no problems hope this helps (it also depends how serious you are) if you are serous get a more expensive one.
The length cannot change (100mm) but you can modify your buggy by removing the side guard for the battery, drilling new holes and installing the guard so you can fit a wider battery in. A higher battery would be more complicated to fit in but I'm sure you could do it if you put your mind to it...
I got this battery for my traxxas e-revo 1/16 and only had it a few days but
This size fits in the 1/16 e-revo , the cable is very tight to fit through the gap but not really a problem.
I charged them at 1.7ma and didn't get warm at all.
I charged them 3.4ma and the same , didn't get warm.
The power of my e-revo had more punch compared to the standard battery that comes with the Rc. I was using it for 20-30 minutes on and off and the power was there all the way.
The battery was slightly warm after using it. The battery was a lot cooler compared to battery that comes with the RC.
This battery is great for power, although it was way too heavy for the plane we tried to put it on. The actual weight is 104g not 82g so if your thinking to put it on a plane, don't. Im sure this battery would be great on a car/ buggy as it has a lot of draw. It lasted me 25 minutes on a 10 amp engine. This is a very compact battery and will fit into most battery compartments.

fits Traxxas 1/16th e revo vxl with no mods such as grinding filing nessasary have yet to use still waiting for some connectors but they do fit well thanks HobbyKing top stuff

After 6mths use, using almost daily in Losi Mini 8ight, i cannot recommend a better battery for a direct fit (no modifying of battery tray).
They have alot of punch for the price, and of higher priced brand name batterys. ( also have dualsky battery but they are 5x the price and nowhere as good in runtime or punch).
Highly recommend as they are light, battery strap fits tight to hold in, and it will not come loose.
Order atleast 2 min, you will not be dissapointed.
