Hi Guys, has anybody ever build a glow engine into this plane? I have a 4ccm glow engine lying around here from a very similar cap 232. I gues I would have to remove the brushless motor dome and add a "firewall" from harder wood on the front plate. Hallo zusammen, hat jemand dieses Modell schon mal als Metanoler gebaut? Ich habe noch einen 4ccm Metanoler von einer ä*hnlichen CAP 232 rumliegen. Ich stelle mir das so vor, dass der Motordom entfernt werden muss und eine Abschlussplatte aus Hartholz in der Front montiert wird. Viele Grü*ß*e Chris
Hi Christian i ordered the same plane, and i have the same idea about fire wall,i would use Os 32 sx glow engine for this , i think it would be powerful for such plane.
Breitling isn't a sticker, it's a decal. The sticker is a 3.5 x 2.5 cm black paper rectangle which says "Hobby King", "CE" and has a x-ed garbage can.
By the way, the wing area is incorrect on the box which says 16.6 sq dm. I measure 14.9 sq dm, off by 10%.

I just restated with RC modelling since I left this in my early teenstage in the late 80s…* dam I'm old.
Nevertheless, any suggestion which servos (DE warehouse) would fit and make Skale Aerobatics worth a go?
I also need some support for the engine, I'm only looking at the german warehouse or UK one…*as I'm located in germany.
I would also concider to buy the ESC (BEC incl) anf the engine at the HK warehouse, maybe then also the servos…*
So which engine, servos and ESC do you suppose?
I was looking for
BL outrunner with approx up to 200gr, ±*1000kV, 750 W * 3s (or less kV at 4s)…* found NTM3542-1000 and thought could fit
ESC I searched a bit around and found this one quite interesting TGY_DEL70A is this one worth the data logginf and does the BEC really work?
Servos, I thought it would be ok to take some MG ones, what about these ones Corona DS-319MG Digital Metal Gear Servo 4kg/ 34g/ 0.06sec …*?
Do these servos fit to the plane? Are they oversized?

Mine didn't come with instructions so I'm putting my calculations here if anyone wants to use them. As I mentioned before, wing area was wrong. It's 14.9 dm2 instead of 16.5 (root chord 21.1, tip chord 11, half span 46.4). CG should be between 6cm behind the LE for sluggish and 8.4cm for tricky. A good starting point would be about 6.8cm. Unfortunately weight was correct at 590g. I allowed 440g for servos, 2200mAh LiPo, prop, motor (preselected 35-30) spinner, ESC and Rx giving total 1030g. That gives a wing loading of 68.95 g/dm2 putting it in the “fast sport” category. Stall speed is then 34km/h (Cl_max 1.3) and minimum cruise at around 68km/h. Thrust for a fast sport should be at least half the weight (515g), which at the calculated cruise speed equates to 95 Watts of output power. Assuming a motor efficiency of 90, we need somewhere between 117 – 210 Watts input power depending on the prop efficiency. The TR35-30 with a 9x4 APC simulated at 156W input, pitch speed 82km/h (2.4 x stall), flight time 7.4min FT to 80 battery drain and thrust of 855g. A good choice although I would have preferred a longer flight, but don't want to add yet more battery weight.

Habe das Modell aus Hamburg bestellt. Kam 3 Tage spter an. Die Verarbeitung ist wirklich sehr gut. Fr diesen Preis unschlagbar. Mu es noch bauen, und warte noch auf den Motor und den Regler,um den Jungfernflug zu absolvieren. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist die komplett fehlende, bzw. total unverstndliche und winzige Bauanleitung. Wenn man aber schon mal so ein Modell gabaut hat, sollte es kein Problem sein. Deshalb auch nur 4 Stars. Wird sicherlich nicht das letzte Model von HK sein.
sehr schoenes Modell, Qualitaet ist sehr gut, Bespannung glatt, nur wenige Falten muessen nachgebuegelt werden.

Wollte die Extra gestern einfliegen. Motor: Turnigy 3536 mit Holzprop 11X8. Da das Gewicht mit diesem Eqiupment bei 1080 gramm lag, war die Extra für die kleine Tragfläche viel zu schwer, was in einem katastrophalen Strömungsabriss in 6 Metern Höhe endete. Das Model flog bis dahin äußerst labil und wollte stets (Trotz korrektem Schwerpunkt) mit der Nase nach unten. Es war ein Versuch, ob Hobbyking Modelle halten was sie versprechen. Ich werde mir mit Sicherheit keines mehr kaufen!!! Passt alles nicht so recht zusammen. HK müßte deutlich nachbesern!!!!!
