On trooper SCT, be prudent if you lose the front linkage between the lower suspension arms, if you hurt something big directly with the wheel, it can totally destroy the bulkhead.
I blow up two pairs of this before thinking that the linkage maintain them together ...
Hope this helps !
Just the three months, that's nothing! I think I ordered mine back in November 2012....HK are a joke when it comes to parts support, it really ticks me off, it's not like these are complex metal parts, it just a piece of ****py plastic injection molding. I hope you have other RC's to keep you occupied boatbandit as your in for a long wait. I'm considering just buying another full kit and having it for spares!
I do hope they dont take to long I am waiting on this and 2 other parts on my order that are on a back order. Just upgraded to a 80A ESC and a 2250KV motor, fast as hell now but i destroyed the front left hand side lol. So hope i ent waiting to long they took my money without any problems.
i googled bulkheads 30217 and 30218 and it went right to them! acmerc**** has the rears in stock and gotnitrorc**** has front and rears in stock right now! i just checked. the trooper is a hk clone of the conquistador... most parts are the same!
the rears are the same as the fronts!!! i took a chance and ordered the rears they are a perfect fit! why have different part numbers for the same part! the front and rears are the exact same!! come on hk get it together!
true that! but i would think that a control arm would break before the stress gets this far into the suspension. i still love my truck! it is a better truck than the skull crusher. check out mine on monster tires in the files section. i also upgraded to a 65amp esc to handle the 4s battery and traction from the tires.
No you can't use the front ones for rear. You have to modify them First you need to level the top part that screws to the brace with file. Then you need to drill hole below it to mount the wheel link. Works fine but proper part would be better off course.
No rear bulkhead, even the manual don't have a number for it. Strange. I used the front one for the rear but needs to be modified. Need to level off the angled top and the wheel brace hole must be drilled on bottom of that. Works but I'd rather the original.
I've now uploaded a pic of the front bulkhead on rear, go to files. It's on a different Acme car but I did that on Trooper too and is bit easier since it has more room. You just need to adjust the tie rod bit longer (not the wheel brace like I said above).
I am looking at my truck and the front and rear bulkheads are almost exactly the same. The only difference is the rear have a place to attach the steering tie rods with a screw since they aren't attached to steering. I think you could use this part, but you would have to affix the rear steering tie rods to something else. Anyone find a place to buy Acme part 30218 at a reasonable price?
Just had a head to head full speed collision with other Trooper (about 40mph at the impact). One Trooper had original aluminum Front Suspension Linkage (PRODUCT ID: A2016T-30107) and it failed miserably. Aluminum linkage split at the end causing both bulkheads ripped apart. In the other trooper I had home made suspension linkage out of steel plate 1.2mm thick. This saved front bulkheads from breaking apart. Lower suspension arm became the "weakest link".
