Are you planning to host a club event with more than 30 people? Are you looking for prizes or a way to promote your event? The hobbyking.com Club Event Support Pack includes trophies, oversize gift certificates and a large 1500x750mm banner to promote and improve participation in your club events. The oversized gift certificates and extra-large personalised trophies will help create excitement and boost member participation. The trophies are personalised just for your event; you can have your very own 3D MASTERS or PYLON COMPETITION right in your own club!
Heres how it works: Purchase the C.E.S. Pack and during your event take photos of the people there, the competition and the handing over of the awards. Email the images to us showing at least 30 people at your event and we will credit your HobbyKing account to the tune of $100. Thats right – you get a total of $90 in Gift Certificates, two trophies and a banner for free!
Included: 2 x Oversize $20.00 Gift Certificates 230x500mm 1 x Oversize $50.00 Gift Certificate 230x500mm 1 x X-Large Welcome Banner 1500x750mm 2 x Oversize Trophies 100mm Diameter (We will apply a personalised message on the back to your specifications)
Note: A CSR from our team will email you to confirm the text you want displayed on the trophies. Photos of event must be clear and show the event, the people and the awards being handed over. Photos will be posted both in our website and on our forum. So dont be shy! Your club event must contain more than 30 people. (Were not overly strict with the number of people participating. If we can see from your photos that your event has around 30 people then thats good enough for us!)
Please ensure enough time between placing your order and hosting your event. It is completely personalised and done on a case-by-case basis. No, the gold trophies are not made of chocolate.
Can't you buy this your self and then get a freebie with it? you use the points your self and this $100 does not weight anything so a freebie could be a plane.
No, you can't buy it yourself and then get a freebie. You need to show an event with at least 30 people and pictures of you handing over the gift certificates.

this is a brilliant win-win situation with hk and a club....the bottom line...hk is giving ur club $90 worth of products from their website plus medals and a banner...ur cost? getting 30 ppl to look at the banner and have a fun event and having to redeem gift cards...anybody that doesnt understand this must re-read over and over or get somebody else to explain this to u.
LIKE THE GUY SAID BELOW WHAT IF THE STUFF IS NOT IN STOCK , GUYS we have to support our local clubs also ,at our field thats what we do but if HK is cheaper then get it there ,im not made of money so i look for the best price.
So if supporting your local hobby shop is what you truly believe why are you here? I agree with you that ideally the local model shop is an important thing for the hobby but in the current economic climate can't justify paying over double for the same stuff. I wouldn't mind if the markups were small and try to as I can but tend to do a lot of shopping here as well - you really can't blame HK for this as it's the best use of advertising budgets out there.
Screw the LHS if they charge to much i will get my Stuff somewhere else like here at HK. No need to pay 100 USD for a Lipo here at LHS if HK delivers it for 20. Same with Motors etc
1. I like buying at the LHS. They are friendly people that I know personally. However, if I ONLY bought there, I would only have 1/3 of the planes I have now.
i buy herte because my LHS dosenot carry or cannot get it , like the TURNIGY BATTS. I DONT HAVE ALL THAT MUCH MONEY ALSO TO BUY LOCAL AND HK is cheaper but i will support my LHS as much as i can, pluss i do carpentry work for him lol.
cuff - ur statements r contradictory! "if HK is cheaper then get it there ,im not made of money so i look for the best price" and "i will support my LHS as much as i can" ?!? u say the lhs doesnt sell turnigy is like saying u dont drink coke because they dont sell pepsi....im also guessing that this a hobby and NOT ur job so if u really supported ur lhs, u would buy thunder power, eflite etc.....u do carpentry for ur lhs...ur lhs SUPPORTS U! they pay u to do carpentry and u spend it at hk, at least partially. the 500 ranking tells us that u spend more time and money here then ur lhs....just admit that u support hk as much as possible and that the reality is u support ur lhs as little as possible
So does the out of stock mean I can't buy this? Or is it just because support need to contact me?
Also has anybody used this successfully? One bad review and two useless ones.
The problem is no other model shop would offer this deal or anything close - I'm all for supporting local but in this climate we have to make our dollars go as far as possible and you must think the same otherwise you wouldn't be here! I think this is temporarily out of stock - I can see this being a very popular item
wellur club has had great support from a LHS to the valu of about $100 AUS and that was for an iterclu event that attracted about 15 entrys so LHS will support if you ask them and the event is w3ell run
i dont thinks this add is all that great anyway , just like some guys say. lote of people would rather go to a local shop in case there is a problem with the item ,HK has bad sevice, end of story.
f100 r u a communist? clearly u r against capitalism and a free market society. hk is basically a giant toy store for us big boys to have fun with. they r not monopolizing the cure for cancer. u obviously spend a lot of time/money/effort on this site so why hate this particular product? if u really want to support ur lhs, u would spend all ur money/time there...im pretty sure u can get batts and motors at ur lhs but u CHOOSE TO BUY TURNIGY INSTEAD. i thank u for supporting hk...ur spending money and time (not all ur comments r anti hk) make the rest of us hk shoppers have a better experience...keep buying turnigy! keep supporting hobbyking!

But buy it for 100 bucks. Who knows how many people you can photoshop in. :)
Here's my situation as I may be the first here that hosts a GROUP of flyers....
I have:
A group, WITH a site(you can check) and forum, that has 22 members
MANY of them are your BEST customers HK like me!
WE have awards every meet usually and we even had a end of season banquet awards dinner.
Here's my question:
IF I PROVIDED MY GROUP DETAILS, (site to visit)
and follow all the 'rules' and award with 22 people, would HK go for this?
We would gladly do if you can do for 22 people?
Is there a minimum amount of people that have to attend your event, because it say's
"Are you planning to host a club event with more than 30 people?"
Also it can be anything like say 10 people get together have a dogfight with there planes and the prizes go to the first, second, and third man flying?
as for local support i dont know about other places but the ones around here dont do squat to support our club. we have to buy the prizes at cost and he still comes out and hangs his banner and doesnt even belong to the club.I will be bringing this up at our next meeting.great job hk.
So, let me get this straight. Clubs pay you $100, for $100 worth of stuff with HK's name all over it? So basically, clubs are paying YOU $100 to advertise your store at their event. How is this in any way supporting the club or event? it quite simply just supports HK!! If you were to offer this package for say, $50, then it would be some support, or perhaps, since you do have requirements of 30 people, it should be free.
Do read the description. You pay $100 to get $90 in GCs plus some nifty event stuff like banner and trophy, have a good time, get in your cheesy shots, send in photos to be reimbursed for the $100, that's the FREE part.
very nice jason, you would think some other places would take notice at what u guys are doing to promote our hobby and make it affordable to everyone but they are all about maximum profit and ripping off the rc community.and of course you knew there would be someone like monster who didnt read the whole thing or couldnt understand what he was reading and spout off about how its not a good deal and make himself look like an, well we will keep it clean and say clown.
Even if you don't have 30 people and get this for free it's still a pretty good deal, I think?
$100 gets you $90 worth of gift certificates and two trophies (and a banner!)..so I guess you're paying $5 each for a fancy medal.
I'm considering buying this just for me and my friends/family so we can have prizes for our personal bashing and racing.
Am I missing a catch?
Yes indeed. The club gets NOTHING!! The club has to pay HK for them to advertise at their event!! Thats pretty dirty if you ask me. What company make the club pay for sponsorship, its supposed to be the other way around.
I fully understood that you cover the total cost of the item if the buyer proves it was used at a race event of 30 or more people. My comment was aimed at people who can't gather that many people and it still works out as a pretty good deal since you're essentially buying $90 worth of gift vouchers for $100 and getting a banner and medals thrown in..so even if you can't get 30 people together for a race even it's not a bad deal for a bit of fun.
I am sorry but I have to get in on this. That Monster JACK ??? is just full of sour grapes. Its a very nice gesture and tanks HK. Usually an event like tat would cost the club money to buy a gift certificate to give away.
I have to get in on this one too. The whole Ad is pretty straight forward, why is it so hard for you to grasp the concept. HK isn't getting free advertising, yeah you pay the up front costs, but after you get a refund. To me I see it as a "Deposit of $100" you get the GC, the medals, etc. Get the photos and award giving and all of that and boom send it to HK and get your deposit back. SIMPLE!! I'm letting my club know about this at our next meeting. Great job Jason and HK!!!
I guess Monster is one of those types who doesn't understand that a business is, by definition, supposed to make money. HK is opening up sponsorship to ALL clubs by having the club take the initial risk of putting together a large enough event to be worth $100 in advertising to HK. If you have low confidence in meeting the 30 participant requirement, then you make the decision whether or not to purchase the materials. In any case, you are not risking anything. The materials provided in the package are worth more than the package cost (approximately $140) so consider the HK logos the price of the discount if you don't meet the participation minimum. Sounds like another fabulous innovation by HK - no reason the other large on-line shops shouldn't follow suit.
The dead horse is in my stable 'cause Jason is right. Wait, aren't you the guy that runs this place? you do a good job, great prices too. but if the gold metals not chocolate, is the silver carmel? :)
Awesome idea. I hope this promotion works out for both Hobby King and those clubs that take up the offer and run with it at their next club comp/event/bbq/funfly. My club will certainly be looking into doing something for our xmas bbq, if it can be arranged in time.
Thanks. For too long we have been told we dont support the R/C community enough. This is the first step in our 2yr plan to be more involved in local R/C communities, not just online.
What terms of restriction for the given action are? Or we can pay "Club Event Support Pack " now, and lead competition in the summer, in June and send photos in July?
I think it's kinda cool that Hobbyking is doing this. There is a strong RC community in Singapore and I have met people who radio control land, air, and water vehicles, sometimes all 3. This will be a great event idea for this 1/14 RC Big Rig group, I gotta let the guys know about this. 30 people = 30 participants? or can we have like 10 truckers and 20 friends cheering?
30 people, but we're not strict about it. Provided there is a about 30 people at an RC event, and it looks semi organised, and there are photos of the award giving, banner and people, then we're happy to credit the $100.00
Why are the gift certificate codes given after the photos are sent and not when you buy the CESPack? There is already a $100 deposit to cover the cost.
Yes, you're right. It's writen incorrectly. Codes are included on the certs when they are mailed. Cert has a sticker covering the code with the recipient removes.
Well done Jason.
Our club would be lucky to have 20 members on a good flying day never mind a comp day, but it's good to see HK giving something back to the people who have made HK such a roaring success.
Cheers TBBW
Now this is a 5 star product: Hobbyking is showing the whole world how much they support RC hobbyists and clubs worldwide.
I've never seen anyone do this, anywhere. A company like HK selling a product which they refund its whole value after? Unseen!
This is a great incentive for clubs all over the world to start making more events and contests, showing the hobby to other people, and make indecise potential hobbyists make their final decision and join the rest of us.
Great move, Hobbyking!!!

A Fabulous Idea
More reserarch from HK would have found that '20' is a more suitable number and wil attract more groups.
I have one with 22 that meet every week, would HK accept this number?
Plz let me know...and great idea HK..keep it up!

After sending 5 emails with all the info needed according to HobbyKing, the photo's,Approx 40 pilots, the winners of all the cirtificates and the info for the $50.00 and 2 $20.00 certificates and my account number so there would be no mistake. I keep on having the emails returned as undeliverable. I tried first at CS.HobbyKing.com, (5 times),and then to HobbyKing.com, with the same results. Maybe someone can tell me where I am going wrong, or is this the way they do things. I am going to try one more time, and then I will revert to the telephone. I guess if HobyKing lives up to what they say in the add for complete refund, I will then recalculate the rating ... Al

Hi, After a bit of a hassel with sending and recieving emails, and some of the emails that would not, or could not be recieved, It is finally done.I would like to thank HOBBYKING for living up to their commitment. I do realize that it is a large company, with a lot of employees, but if you percerveer, all will work in the end. Today, I recieved notification that the $100.00 spent for the gift package was credited to my account as bonus points for the full amount. I have as you will notice changed my rating for the gift package to 5 stars, as they have lived up to their aggreement as advertized. Again, Thank you Al, sec. bluewater R/Cflyers
