 KaosKane 1428 points

 ARCDIRECT 162 points
They all perform , well ,the best 2nd to non .As long as you know how to set up your power package .
 KaosKane 1428 points
any hints i have the FlyFly retracts on the way *}...my red brick 125a resists all stick programming (see hk page) so i have an Tz85 and prog box on the way as well (i got a freebie)i hope to use 3000MaH 6cell 35c lipo..any feedback appreciated
 ARCDIRECT 162 points
To Kaoskane , Alatross is much smaller W.S , and much faster then F-100 .Just got back flying my L-39 it,s great flying plane .So it,s realy up to you .If you are new to edf , try the MB-339 ,much easier and well designed as a jet trainer .
 ARCDIRECT 162 points
To kaoskane , 125ap esc sounds good just remember for this fan try 1500kv turnigy out runner .note dont try any of this fan on bench as they designed to go into fuse and sandwiched between the foam .On your esc stay with auto set up .Battery ,should around 4000mah 30C or even 20c should be ok .Since your Ap would not be more them 77 or So.

looks like the f4e has been replaced by this jet EPO is far better than eps any way :)
 Kellyann 16221 points
Grego I have seen a real Sabre up close. The Super Sabre never cam to Australia. It is cool to see Hobby King have brought the model here. Nice
 KaosKane 1428 points
Yes EPO rules... just pour near boiling water on it and i bends back to nearly pre crash shape a little stretching with ur burning fingers and some 99c cyanoacrylic (non foamsafe) glue and ur in the air again.. My Jetiger needed to be reshaped by squishing it back to straight with 6 bricks and pouring on boiling water and waiting for it to kool and it remained the same shape the bricks wedged it in to hth ps please credit me i need 860 more credits ,to buy this plane lmao

done credit sent, buy this you wont regret it but dont glue the wings on like i did its almost impossible to fit in my car haha
 KaosKane 1428 points
thanks for the heads up and credit i will try to pin the wings with a carbor or alloy rod :}
 KaosKane 1428 points
G'Day Grego this is my biggest jet so far and the first one not rtf any help or suggestion u can offer. How about setup and flying. I dont want to crash this beauty..so any suggestions would be Studied and appreciated.
 Grego 139 points
HI Kaoskane, it goes together well. my biggest mistake was i gluded the wings on and it made it very hard to fit in the car. it hand launches very easy i flew mine with 6s 5000 and 1600watt 1750kv set up (PRODUCT ID: HK30281) flew great
LaserBeam  744 points - 8/19/2011

Why do they call it a '92mm fan'? Shouldn't they be refered to as impellors or something similar? Is it because they 'fan' the air? The propellors on my planes fan the air and so do the blades on my helicopters. The heli blades are good for cooling down in the summer. Shaves your face too if you get close, so im going to call it a 'razor' :)
 Kellyann 16221 points
LaserBeam yes that would work till you had to fit one. If it was the IMPELLER MEASUREMENT and you had to fit it in a 92mm duct, we then have a problem. I hope this helps.
 pluto 185 points
Does anyone have an updated suggestion for electric retracts to fit this before I pull out the credit card, again?
 KaosKane 1428 points
I will use these when i get to the retract part of my Build.. PRODUCT ID: DSR-46T Digital Servoless Adjustable Landing Gear set (Upgrade Metal version)... would be simple to install as well...*}...PS if u but please post buddy code....I have posted code for this jet on forum *}

To pluto , yes they got retracts for these ,that fits in . Look under HK 1106 retracts .

The spec. reads fixed u/c, but, the parts photo shows servo-retract gear. Anyone with this model clarify what they recieved?
 GRAHAM 168 points
Found exact model in local shop, RTF for a little more than this kit. It does come with the retracts shown in the parts photo.
 GRAHAM 168 points
Correction. The local kit, was not RTF, but, only contained the same items as this.
 spitfire2010 640 points
Graham, is the model made of EPO?
 spitfire2010 640 points
Mine has arrived and it is EPO
 Kellyann 16221 points
Thank You Guys
 ARCDIRECT 162 points
The under carriage , that you see it,s fixed .And can be be converted .If you want retract that fits same as you ,see in the pic .Look for HK 1106 .

Great savings for Aus customers! from HK: $118.37 $76.52 = $194.89 from AUS: $193.02 $14.79 = $207.81 => almost $20 more when buying from local warehouse
 helichoper 61 points
If you just buy the kit it costs a few dollars more in shipping but if you throw in a few lipos its much more attractive with the shipping.
 alouetteIII 1673 points
Yawn. This is Australia. Jason not sure if you know but the legendary F-111 (huge potential for model sales) just got replaced by F-18F's - Can you use your considerable buying power to get a 90mm F-18F in aussie RAAF SQN colours made and selling from the AU store??? Foamie or fibreglass.....
 lummox 32 points
meh...you get it in 2 days. I love the fact that aus has a hobbyking warehouse now. just wish they would get some more stock in!
 KaosKane 1428 points
I agree the RAAF hornet in 20th aniversary colours has potential for all Raffies at air bases around Australia. *}
 slaanesh 424 points
I'd have to agree. An F-111 with swing-wing capability would sell big time here in Australia (and the USA). I don't know of any F-111 models though unless HK can design/manufacture their own.
 GRAHAM 168 points
F-111's will soon be available via Brisbane, in Aus colours, with swing-wing. currently in final refinement. Co. mgr is in China checking product.
 slaanesh 424 points
I hope you are not kidding - that would be awesome! What size EDF is it going to be?
 GRAHAM 168 points
Dont have all details yet. Would be guessing only, that, it will have to be larger more serious end, and quality. Soon, is a relative term, considering, the above note, plus production run, pack, ship via container. Gives us time to save up. Will be an xtreme thing when it arrives.
 Grego 139 points
yeah there on sale soon but twin 70mm i really think your better off stocking to 90mm jets im so over 70mm
 KaosKane 1428 points
but 2 x70mm = 140mm make 90mmlook small lol*}
 Grego 139 points
i know what your saying i have the lx mig 29 and my fly fly l39 with 1600 watts $40 motor fan combo draws less amps has more power and flys longer than the twin 70mm mig. the mig has to work so much harder to stay in the air.
 KaosKane 1428 points
Thanks for the info, swept volume calcs always give me a headache lol *}
 pluto 185 points
My F100 has just arrived, and what a beast. Much bigger than I expected and the box is full of stuff including oleos. Will upgrade the fan unit however.
 KaosKane 1428 points
fyi there is a three year old blog on this on rc groups links dont work so do a search for FLY FLY F-100 Saber...he added a rudder with 12deg deflection and it did nothing HTH :}
 pluto 185 points
Thanks for that. I have been reading the blog this morning. I now need HK to stock the Lander 90mm 8S fan. The led afterburner kit needs noise.
 KaosKane 1428 points
PRODUCT ID: 189000017 12 Blade High-Performance 90mm EDF Ducted Fan Unit this is reportedly superior
 pluto 185 points
Thanks for that. Have just ordered the Changesun 12 Blade with 1600 kv fan fitted from elsewhere. I was hooked on the sound of the fan, good tip Kaos.
 ARCDIRECT 162 points
To pluto . That fan 12 blade is too big for it ,and you gone have hard time to fit it in .Stay with stock fan ,that comes with it with 1500 kv with turnigy 3025 motor .Watch me on you tube ,under HK MB-339 same fan with above set up ,take off grass with EZ.The 12 blade fan i got in to my big RCLANDER T-33 weight 11lb with 1900 kv motor on 6S and 8000map batt with over 7lb of static thrust ,taking off grass with EZ.

1 thumbs up!
Got this model to start flying EDF. Takes a number of hours to build but comes together well. The supplied fan shroud was too flexible and distorts when installed allowing the blades to touch the sides. This is very annoying, HobbyKing just charge more and put 0.02mm more plastic in the shroud and it would be great. Luckily I bought the 90mm 5 blade fan from HobbyKing as well and this slots right in (you have to do a little modding). I have not flown it yet. - 4 stars because the supplied EDF is useless.

well build and solid airframe. Dont use the stock fan and go with a changesun fan from hobbyking. the stock fan is noisy and is very inefficient.

My FlyFly F-100 Super Sabre arrived today after 3 days!

The box came double box and it was HUGE! Apon opening I was purely amazed at the sie of it! This plane is massive.

The plane seems to be made very well and all the pieces seem to join together well.

I will make this plane on the weekend and report back.

I have ordered the new 12 blade 90mm DPS 1000kv EDF unit and plan to run it on 8s or 10s.

Overall so far I am VERY IMPRESSED with this MONSTER!!
