The new Turnigy® Lipoly packs deliver 100% capacity and a true 20C. You wont find a better deal in Lithium Polymer batteries anywhere!
Why are our batteries so cheap, yet deliver the full capacity and discharge rate? The answer is simple; we make them ourselves! Yes, Hextronik Limited* now mixes the slurry, bakes the foil, stacks the layers, injects the electrolite and packs the packs. All in it's very own humidity controlled factory in Guangdong (China). When buying a TURNIGY® 2200mAh 20C you are buying a pack direct from the manufacturer. Thats why our price is so low!
Attention. Our TURNIGY® batteries are full capacity batteries. Don't be fooled by other cheap Asian packs that are really 80% capacity. We guarantee our packs to be 100% or more in capacity and C rate. At this price, why bother with other brands? Stick with TURNIGY®, your trusted Lipoly partner!
*Hextronik Limited does not manufacture LiCo2 or any of it's related compounds.
These batteries work well with the Phantom 1 series. The extra long XT-60 cable requires a little more jamming into the compartment but it's well worth it. These batteries last about a minute longer than the DJI ones and cost way less! I'm sorry I bought any DJI batteries at all.
Also, after several months, the internal resistance of these batteries are lower than the DJI ones.
There is no absolute cut off temperature, but lipo batteries like ~70 degrees F better than say 35 degrees F but if you are flying a foamie that keeps the battery mostly surrounded in foam you should be fine as long as you keep the battery warm between flights.
Thanks, but I fly these with an SK 450 quad, where my battery is completely exposed (except for a small silicone battery protector I use). My general rule of thumb is only fly above freezing without rain or snow. Would that be fine?
Lithium-based batteries are infamous for high self-discharge rates at low temperatures. The lower the temperature, the faster they go flat. The best practice is to keep your batteries warm (such as in your pocket, car, or other heated place) until just before you use them. Load your pre-warmed battery into the aircraft and fire it up right away. The battery will generate its own heat as you use it. Unless you land and let the battery cool, your flight times should be more or less normal. Good luck and happy holidays! =)
RC2211 - I wouldn't fly at a temperature lower than say 0 F (-18 C). At that temperature the lithium polymer mixture in the battery would begin to have substantial reduction of ion drift (internal resistance increase) which in turn results in current drop-off. The decrease in current capacity is linear with temperature. At about 80 F (27 C) you are looking at 100% capacity and at 0 F you are down to 50%..
RC2211 - Just remember that the minimum operating temperature benchmark starts at 0 F (-18 C). For the maximum operating temperature I wouldn't exceed 110 F (43 C) since after 80 F (27 C), again the current efficiency starts to take a dip on the linear curve.
Note to DJI Phantom owners - this pack works great in the DJI Phantom quad copter, although it takes a LITTLE more effort to pack the slighty longer battery cables into the internal battery compartment. Otherwise, the size, shape, weight and even the battery connectors are completely compatible with the stock Phantom. Nice surprise =)
11 thumbs up!
I have 4 of these packs now. I ordered two almost a year ago, and have used them in helicopters and airplanes both. They deliver consistently and predictably, and even after a year they are on par with the two I just purchased - some slight puffing on the older packs is all. Great battery!

1 thumbs up!
Took two days to get here with Priority Shipping (to Louisiana)! Nice! Mine were also shipped with XT60 connectors. I swapped them to Deans, since that's what's on everything else I have already. They were both balanced well, one at 3.86V/cell, the other at 3.87V/cell. I charged one, than discharged it, then balanced it. It's gave a bit more than 2200mAh on the first cycle, I expect them to be some good packs, especially once they get a few cycles on them and "break in". As long as what I need is in stock, Hobbyking's USA warehouse will be my go-to place for LiPos! I wish you'd stock small items too. I could have grabbed some HXT900 servos, servo extensions, battery connectors, etc. with this order, but I had to go elsewhere for them. Shipping is either too expensive, or too slow for small items that I need fast when it's coming from China.
Just got 5 of these. Compact size only slightly bigger than 1600 3s.

I have purchased two of these packs from the USA warehouse and they arrived very quickly. XT60 connectors by default, but I use Deans so I changed them out and kept the XT60 connectors for when I eventually make the change over. Both packs took a full charge and exhibit good characteristics.
I use them in my Trex 450 for sport flying, in the Durafly Cessna 182 and my home built SPAD. Great packs for the price.
As the normal with your batteries I am a happy camper both batteries arrived well packaged cells where 3.84 and balanced. I flew these in a AP plane with a monster 15 size motor great performance from these batt's.
