HK-600GT 3D Electric Helicopter Kit w/o blades (USA Warehouse)
Finally, big scale heli flight on a small-scale budget. The HK-600GT breaks all the rules and sets a new precedence in big 3D heli value. Modeled on the famous, award winning and proven T-Rex 600, the HK-600GT will push your 3D flight skills to their limits.
The 600GT is an exciting helicopter to see in action as it roars through the sky and is surprisingly much easier to fly than a smaller version.
Its 7075 alloy head ensures hard core 3D pilots wont be dissapointed in the performance and the simple yet light weight and attractive cowl plus Titanium anodized components make this a visually stunning helicopter with performance to back it up! We guarantee you wont find a better priced heli of this size anywhere!
Features. Light weight design provides awesome flight performance and extreme 3D capability. Rotor head/tail with thrust bearings. Center of gravity of battery tray designed close to the rotor head. High efficiency belt driven tail.
Fully driven tail auto rotation system. Tail servo boom mount. Carbon Fibre boom support rods and tail servo mount. Carbon Fiber main frame, tail Fins and anti-rotation bracket.
i order a hk 600 and i received it with a broken belt it been 3 days since i contact the support dept , and still no answer on a replacement for the belt . does hobby king stand by there product or do i need to order a belt from another hobby store along with all my future hobby items.
hobby king is a pritty good company and im shure they will stand by there product just dont give up keep trying them they are a really buisy company and some times it just takes longer then they would like to get back with you they value your buisness please bare with them
They are very good at correcting issues they are one of the only places I have found online who value their customers. If you have not tried go to the contact link and use the live chat their emails could be flooded.
Not here and a RTF version would be expensive to find, all the parts needed are here for this heli. If you are unsure that you can take on this task you can refer to complete build tutorials on youtube that deals with this HK 600 and then make your purchases. I built mine for under 500 a little over a year ago now and I love it, on top of it all I built it so if there ever is a problem I can find it a lot easier than if someone else did it.
Tail is metal and when received, it may have some burs on the slides if you use a scotch pad or light sand paper and clean it up you will never have a problem.
I used the gy48 for about three months with this heli it was solid worked great. The only reason it is still not on there was I stole the gy48 off my 450 so I could fly the 600 until the one I ordered came in.
Yup 4 standard size servos (std) 3 for cyclic and one for the tail. If you scroll down others have listed what torque and brands they have used just make sure it is metal gear and I prefer digital because they center better.
Personally I have not tried this servo but the reviews are good. Just a thought you may want to ask others if they are using it for the tail I have always used a fast servo for my tails (.08sec)so I do not know how a slower one acts just a thought.
Why is the drive gear ratio so important in a helicopter? And how will using a 10T as opposed to a 11T motor drive gear effect my flight responsiveness?
Motor KV vs. RPM" formula.
Here is why gear ratios is important
(motor kv x battery voltage / (main gear/ pinion gear) ) = RPM
Note there is an efficiency factor of about .8 or 80%
(motor kv x battery voltage / (main gear/ pinion gear) ) *.8 = RPM
(3800kv x 11.1v=42180) ... (150/ 10 = 15)... (42180 / 15 = 2812 RPM) ... (2812*.8 =2249 /- rpm )
Hope this helps
This helps quite a bit greg, thank you...it also opens up a whole new line of questions for this beginner...hope to find an rc club near me this spring...would sure make things a little easier.
the belt in the tube??
just push the belt in the tube and it will come out in the other side.. the belt should be installed in the rear peice (tail blade gears)
Fernando, you will have to take the frame partially apart to separate the the drive pulley from the frame. Then just loop the belt over the pulley and re-assemble the frame.
This Heli does not come with any radio control gear or any other electronics(speed control, motor, or battery). It also does not come with the main rotor blades. All of the items required to make this heli functional can be purchased from this website.
This is a large heli, once setup it is very easy to fly and clearly visible. You will need high speed, strong servos to manage the torque on pitch changes, you will also need a Gyro, I run a futabe 601, becuase I had one spare. The GY401 would probably work well, with a 9257 servo. I have had little luck with clone gyros but I have spoken with many who use nothing but clones... For a beginner it would be fine, apart from it's physical size makes it far more dangerous than say a 450. Maybe consider the 500CMT or GT this is probably a better beginner heli, more stable that a 450, cheaper to setup, and replacement parts from align are also cheaper than a 600...
WHAT!?! this is not a beginner helicopter!!!! yes, bigger helicopters are easier to fly than smaller ones IF YOU ALREADY KNOW HOW TO FLY A HELICOPTER. This is NOT a trainer.
whats the best tail servo for this, that is cheap????.. servo price is like around 20-25, i heard it was good for it but i have found it/dont remember which one is it
You need a standard size servo that is reasonably powerful but must be fast, look at the servo's which have a speed of around 0.10sec 60 degrees, there are a few listed, take a look at the BMS-661DMG.
You need blades designated as 600mm. Usually they are measured from center of screw hole to blade tip. That is what came with MY 600GT w/blades included.
I set up my HK600 for AP also (carrying a Canon Rebel t2i and a Photoshipone 2xpt), and I decided to go 12s, and I'm glad I did! I am running the Align 600MX motor (they're on ebay for about $80 ) and running two 3300's, or two 5000 6s in series. The 600mx is 510kv, so running it with a 15t pinion gets me about 1600 headspeed, and with 5000mah's, I get 12 minutes of flight WITH the camera and gimbal.
I just received my 600GT and it apears to be a good buy the only thing i was wondering is where i can get plans to set this heli up even if i had the 600e trex plans i can*t seem to find anything on line.
Are any of the parts interchangeable with trex 600 parts from align? If so, which ones? Also, do they fit in fuselages recommended for use with the trex 600.
almost all of the head parts are interchangeable and all of the tail parts, pay close attention when putting the tail together as if the slide sticks it will be fatal!!! It fits all of the trex fuses
I believe it's a clone of the 600CF, I had a 600 ESP and the swash linkage was set up differently, but other than that, I reused a lot of my 600 ESP parts on this including the torque tube.
Well, it COULD be converted by buying all the Align parts for their nitro version and changing everything over. However I think you'd find by the time you're done it would be cheaper to simply buy a nitro heli outright.
i would like to buy one of these , does any one know what other items are needed to complete this kit, i know blades, servos, gyro, esc, and recever, but i need more detail like part numbers from Hobby king. this way i can order all items at once, and have a total cost. any ideas of total cost???
i bought the kit allready, i have looked on HK and have found the blades, i am sure i can figure the servos, but could you tell me which gyro to get and i have seen several motors lister any idea which is the best, also should it use a 100 amp speed controll
Here is a complete list of what you will need... 1- typhoon motor 600 class ( i also went a bought a 15 tooth pinoin gear that fits a 5mm shaft. If u cant find one here go to heli direct 1- 80 amp or more 1- turingy 3a ubec (make sure the servos voltage range is within the ubec range (they need to be compatable) 4- standard size servos with metal gears(std) 7.2 is the tork value..I got 5 just to have a spare... 1- good receiver (I went with a spectrum) 2- gyros. (1 for a spare because th
i got mine fast from hk u will need a motor too and batteries, the kit i got is so nicely machined too sweet price too except the gears im replacing with align ones like 30.00 big deal
I have no problems with mine...I kept the batt tray up front in the verticle position...I also velcroed the batts to the verticle batt support and eachother and used turnigy velcro straps as not to have any weight shifting during flight..Maybe over kill but who wants this 600 class heli flying different everytime it goes up...
Well I just ordered this heli 2 days ago and its already shipped. Great company, 8th order happy with all.
I would like to order all my electronics from Hobbyking. I need some advice on what to order, servos, esc, motor, gyro and pinion tooth#. I would like to use an 8s battery.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Well I received mine from the USA warehouse. The tail pitch control arm was broke in half and the bracket it screws into was bent beyond repair, I tried to straighten it out and of course it cracked. I can find the control arm, but not the bracket. I may have to buu a new tail assembly.
Also the main rotor housing around the logo has deep gouges around it. Not to mention I found a blade of grass in the main blade grips. Looks like I received someone's return. Very disappointing. I will keep it and repair the damaged items. Other than that seems like a good deal.
I like to have 600gt with flybarless rotor head. Don't need to spend extra money and throw away good parts. Without the flybar should be lower the cost.
Flybarless or flybar versions is more a matter of personal preference and is not enough of a difference to justify big price differences. Besides, for the low to mid price fixed pitch and 6-channel ccpm models* they will be one type or the other regarding the flybar for a specific model name. It is pretty rare to have a choice* Curtis Youngblood Rave models is one example were you can pick between 4 variations of the same model: with or without flybar and either electric or nitro power. You
Ok what the heck takes so long to ship this from Ohio to Florida!! It has been 11 days already!!! Very disappointed. What is the purpose of Having a USA warehouse if it isn't any faster??
Its the US Postal Service, Because of the size and weight it moves more slowly through their system and takes longer. I waited since 1/27 for the same item and it arrived today. I also bought a 450GT at the same time and it arrived within 3 days since it is smaller. I wish Hobbyking would give the option to use UPS or FedEx.
you guys need to chill on shipping complants..were else can you find these great deals..i personally couldnt be happyier with hobby king..if you want your items faster try EBAY but you wont get these great prices..
JUST A FEED BACK , BECAUSE IM NOT A GOLD COSTUMER YET I COULD NOT POST A REVIEW UNDER REVIEW TAB SO IF YOU ARE PLEASE JUST POST THIS NOTE HERE ON THE REVIEW SECTION .THANKS REVIEW: FOR ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WITH A QUESTION MARK ABOUT THIS KIT,HEAR THIS. BEST DEAL EVER , I LOVED !! I DECIDED TO GO ELECTRIC JUST LIKE MY FRIENDS AROUND HERE ,BUT THE COST NEVER ALLOWED ME TO GET A 600CLASS ELECTRIC,UNTIL I FOUND THIS HK600GT,MAN 99% JUST LIKE THE T-REX 600E ALIGN KIT .MY SETUP IS 1910/1Y 8S NEUMOTOR(SMALL FRAME CUT TO FIT MOTOR),100AMP PHOENIX ICE ESC 8S,170T ORIGINAL ALIGN MAIN GEAR ,14T PINION,6S 5100MAH LIPO FOR NOW UNTIL NEW 8S LIPO ARRIVE,3x9252 SERVOS FOR CCPM,GY401 FUTABA GYRO,9254 TAIL SERVO, Mavrikk G5 PRO 600mmBlades Wide Chord.etc.. I REPLACED SOME PARTS THAT CAME WITH THIS HELI WITH ORIGINAL ALIGN STAFF THE FOLLOWING: 170 MAIN GEAR 14T PINION ALIGN PADDLES ALIGN LANDING GEAR (BLACK) ALIGN 600N CANOPY (MODIFIED, EXTRA CANOPY MOUNT BY BATTERY TRAY ON FRONT OF HELI AND ADDITIONAL HOLES AND GROMMETS MADE TO CANOPY, TO FIT)
THE KIT IS NICE AND IS WORTH EVERY DOLLAR.i WOULD BY A 90 SIZE LIKE THIS ONE IF WAS AVAILABLE.THANKS HOBBY KING YOU ARE THE BEST!!
THANK YOU HOBBY KING,YOU ARE THE BEST! DAMPERS(A MUST ORIGINALS VERY SOFT)
i got mine in the mail today here in arizona. but its lacking a manual to use for build. going over the parts i will have to say im impressed with what i see but i have'nt started the build yet.. my servos(4) and gyros(3) and blades(2) have'nt made it yet motor came with bird but no pinion. really ***med about no picture manual to go by.. also looking for a fbl rotorhead maybe four or five blade just for ****s n giggles.. vbar module still in transit.. will tell more as im building and getting this all setup.. BTW(this came with bragging rites at the l.h.s.)
Take a look in the motors section and look for a (600 class) motor.
I recommend a "Turnigy Typhoon 600H Heli Motor 1100kv (600 class)" with a 5mm 14 tooth pinion.
these motors will fit w/o modifying the frame and have 5mm shafts
Turnigy Typhoon 600H Heli Motor 1100kv (600 class)
KD 600XL 1100kv Brushless heli Outrunner / 1600W
KD 600L 1400kv Brushless heli Outrunner / 1500W
i have the typhoons the 450, 500 and 600. The 450 and 500 are great motors for sport flying i dont know about 3d and im waiting for my hk600 to install motor but if it is like the other it will not be a bad choice.
I dont understand how this one can get so good credits. I have seen helifreak users saying to stay away from this, and here everybody says buy it, its good, etc. Have you guys even tried it 50 flights before you give 5 stars?
Where else can you get a 600 size heli that fly's well for CHEAP?
It's a great platform to start with... you can slowly over time replace components with Align.
The guys on Helifreak are just like the heli guys at my local club, if it's not got a big expensive brand name they call it ****. However at the club meeting the other night I found out that all their T-Rex's are HK's that they replaced the top and tail boom with T-Rex parts and put Align stickers on everything.
granted this model has a few issues but at this point most are known and easily addressed by using a hand full of trex parts during the build landing gear legs, tail drive gear, main gear, and the usual checks for thread lock and lubrication throughout,
i bought this kit a little sketchy becasue i have always found you get what you pay for. In this case not at all! I now have the hk600 and all my friends have trex600 they are spechless at the price diffrence in mine and theres. we have measured and compared everything and this is so very close that without going through all that you really cant tell the diffrence.Performance, it stands up to hard 3d. Just loctite things first and grease bearings

I oyrchased this kit from the USA warehouse with a bit of sketacism however I was pleasantly surprised. I reviewed the quality of the kit to find it on par with most. Also the delivery time from warehouse to front door was amazing. I would purchase this kit all over again if I were looking for a T-rex 600 alternative.

Outstanding kit, I was stunned when I compared it to my trex 600CF heli and found the blade grips and other head parts are bigger and better looking than the ones on my expensive machine. Other than replacing the flybar and locktiting every bolt, the machine performs as well as my 600CF in hard 3D!
