Yak 54 1.5m Monster 3D Brushless Plug-n-Fly (DE Warehouse)
The YAK54 includes a large 37 series outrunner and 60A ESC. With a wingspan of 1.5M and an area of 43dm2, its a huge 3D Foamie that is sure to impress! The YAK54 includes many quality details such as panel lines and rivets, cockpit & pilot, a twin servo controlled elevator (just like giant scale), big scale servos for each aileron and a big powerful prop hanging outrunner. The main wing includes a large carbon spar, and bolts together tightly while being easy to remove for transportation. The tail slots together in 3 pieces with two bolts and epoxy for a much needed extra strong hold. The cowl and engine detail are moulded in foam (no ice-cream container cowl here). You have never seen a foamie model of this size and detail before. Its HUGE! You will need a 3300mAh 4S pack to fly this model well.

In the video, has the plane been upgraded with bigger servos or a bigger motor to give it extra performance for all the maneuvers he did? Or is it just the standard plane? in which case I will have to consider getting one!
How it was possible to make that video can be seen in the description of the product using motor and ESC that provided in the box, the engine is really slow response, I state that I have used batteries from TURNIGY 4S 3300 mAh-as shown in the description, I remain waiting for a plausible answer. (I'm not a beginner!)

hi, it is actually very simple to assemble and does not need manual.
But on principle, I do not think it's normal.
I immediately removed the engine, and I put another, a little more powerful and especially better quality, because it comes with the plane seems to me very poor quality.
The insulation of the motor wires are so thin that the short circuit is guaranteed after a few flights.
I waiting for a weather a little quieter to go try it.
I got the same problem, no manual.
Ich habe das gleiche Problem, kein Bauplan.
Also: ALL (!!!) screws were coroded/rusty, the colour was partially bleached and broken.
Ausserdem: ALLE (!!!) Schrauben sind an- oder schon verrostet, sowie die Farbe ist meist ausgebleicht oder mit Rissen.
Not a good start at all and until now: NO Recommendation
Ü*berhaupt kein guter Start und bisher: Keine Empfehlung !!

Anybody order recently the Yak from the German warehouse?
I seen it on stock on the 13-4, I order it, but still my order is Pending-Reserved.
They got my money, and I don't even know what is going on.
Still waiting ... still no sign of any work in progress in Germany ... sill my order is in Pending (never been in Backorder) since 13th-4.
Very, very annoying !
I got the Yak 54/1.5m from german warehouse after 5 days last month. It was perfectly packed and the quality of all Items were very good. But ...The first flight was dramaticly because the centre of gravity was wrong (you have to put about 200 gr weight in the front, when using the built-in motor and a
4 S/3000mAh Lipo) also you have to set the deflections of aileron, elevator and rudder to 25-30 mm ..no more ! After that it is fine to fly the Yak54 !! Good luck !
Lucky you *-) ... I got my Yak yesterday. Order the 13-4 ... some 3 weeks time.
Do you have already the new 3740 motor on it?
Or you have the older one?
I got the new one. It was okay .. also the ESC. But later on I took a Hacker 40L14. This one is heavier, so I don't need the additional weight for correct centre of gravity. Good luck !

So what? I'm in LT, but I can't order this plane because we are limited to 3kg from DE warehouse. Even from HK warehouse most bigger planes are unavailable due to weight or size...
Since we're going to have to buy a replacement motor please list the appropriate one(s) in 'Related Products' please Jason or who ever the HK person that reads these postings.
Since they send garbage motors and ESC's do yourself a favor and get the replacements from another vendor. This airframe is SWEET ** but the motor and ESC are not. You need a .32 to .55 equivalent motor and a 75 amp or higher ESC. The .32 motor will fit easier, but the .55 will swing the size prop this baby needs. With the .55 You'll have to move the firewall back a few centimeters to accommodate the longer motor. You'll also have to open the center hole a couple mm by sanding and repainting black.
the .32 equivalent should fit great, maybe just need new mounting holes.
Unfortunately, the motor I got with mine was garbage. Running 4 minutes no load (no prop) on it it and no cowl got hot enough to cook an egg running mid range on the bench. And these clowns won't replace a defective part unless you ship the original back to them. TO CHINA!! I'm not shipping a $25 motor back to china to get another P.O.S. cheapo motor.
Just sell the airframe with no electronics and you'll sell a ton of these.
Would this thing fly hard 3D on the added weight of a 4s 5000? I have 4 of those batteries, and am hoping they would work. If it would, then id probably get an extra 3-4 minutes of flying too.
Anyone thinking about purchasing this plane should be made aware of the stock motor woe's that comes along with this plane. Many people have had their stock motor burn up after 5 minutes into the maiden flight. A lot of us are starting to question if this plane is worth the investment after having to replace the stock motor immediately. Check out the RCgroups thread here please and join in the discussion.

The weight is too heavy for a shipping to belgium. It's strange, because with the transporter DHL, I pay 17euros for 15kg (germany to belgium) and this with diferent resellers. Not for small boxes, but big kit like 1/4 Piper Cub, laser200 2m ...
Maybe you do it on your own :)
Its easy to get the paint away.
You just have to use a very good Tape xD
Thats really easy plug the tape und pull it off ^^
MFG Evo

1 thumbs up!
I'm flying this plane with a 3S2P LiFe battery. Not powerfull enough with the stock motor, but it doesn't burn ! This pack gives correct CG and almost ten minutes of cool flight. Maybe I'll try 6S with another motor and propeller, more power but shorter flight time...
