*) oki, what frsky to use on my turnigy 9x transmitter?

(ID: DJT)or(ID: JR-Combo) with or without telemetry
 robert 150 points
from what i have seen you can pull rssi from a pin of the chip but requires extra skills in soldering to the small pin.
 v_max 404 points
Actually this is fake.. not real RSSI. The signal on RSSI pin of RX chip is a mix of 3 sequential phases containing different levels. And only one of this steps related to RSSI. To get real RSSI level from it you need someway syncronosed system which measures analog level only at required phases of this output. I didn't find solution for this. All this simple detectors described on rcforums are just a fake which gives output changing almost without any relation to real RSSI level.

Can I run a nano tech life 6.6 receiver battery directly into this receiver? Or do I have to use a sbec or ubec?

 Gerry01 2910 points
Life batt, fully charged, will be more than 7v, it may work, but it's risky. Maybe using just a diode in series to lower 0.6v the voltage will do the trick.
 Blue Angel 5 136 points
Could you please tell me where to find that info. Thanks
 hermit81 1626 points
if you mean info about receiver supported voltage - this written on receiver
 robert 150 points
i use the life 6.6 v for this rx and it works flawlessly with no problems on a full charge.
kbm.denmark  21 points - 5/19/2013

thanks New tohobbyking, I think after all I have found out...thank you very much.

Im then exited to see if HK esc anyway are setupable.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
KBM if you buy the correct one they are very easy to setup. You need one, that you can buy a programing card for. You can setup an ESC from your Transmitter but I find you, are never sure if you have it correct. Where if you can use a Program CARD on it, then programing becomes much easier! Mostly though, many ESC are fine straight out of the BOX.
 kbm.denmark 21 points
Lets see if the Hobbyking esc are both forward/backward programmable.
NewToHobbyking I already got the hobbyking programmingcard. The card does NOT even have forward/backwardoption, I have readen somewhere else, that after programming and setting....these esc´*s does not HOLD programmingoptions...but lets see if im wrong.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
KDM sorry I am a Plane guy I though you were Plane or Heli. We do not have much use for backward sorry. OK ESC once programed???? Please if I am wrong sorry again but what is the good of setting up a ESC the way you want it, just to have to do it every time you power up??? Or are you say the ESC settings are kept in the receiver. Well that is not the case.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
KDM there is one thing you can do with this Transmitter and other transmitters is set a power curve. You can set the throttle to a curve rather than a straight line. This means you get max power burst where you need it!
kbm.denmark  21 points - 5/17/2013

Binding is nesseccary every time tx and rx are connected hermit81...and therefore esc settings are impossible unless i got the original receiver.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
KDM once you have bound a receiver to a transmitter it will stay bound till you plug the bind plug into the receiver again and power it up. Then it becomes ready to bind to any compatible transmitter!
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
KDM programing or setting up an ESC has nil to do with the receiver. The setting of the ESC are saved in the ESC. The Bind of a Rx (Receiver) and Tx (Transmitter) is saved in the Rx. The Tx never changes. (It is the MASTER so called.)

How many amps will this draw when its not working any servos, just the reciever?
 Gerry01 2910 points
Receiver is around 0.1A alone. With gyro and servos nos working, in my 450 heli, takes about 0.25A.
 Enes 2 points
Thanks for your reply. This helped a lot :)

Yes this will work, are you trying to set each servo up on its own channel? you can use a Y cable to the flaps and alierons and get away with the 6 ch reciever. HK-T6A-V2 www.link

I have a Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter without Module (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware,

Im not able to get the rx working? how do I connect this rx to the transmitter step by step??
 hermit81 1626 points
if your transmitter without transmitter module - you need buy seperately transmitter module. according to which transmitter module you install - then you need receiver for this module
 kbm.denmark 21 points
Hey. I allready got the turnigy rx 9x and tried it. It blinks every time i set the esc lead in one of the rx channels. But when I touch the TX joysticks, nothing happens
 v_max 404 points
You need to bind RX with TX module. Check manual under files tab (purple tab) for complete manual, Binding procedure described well.
 kbm.denmark 21 points
Hey thanks. I have allready sticked the binding connector in the rx..are there more to do, before the TX will accept the rx?? thanks
 hermit81 1626 points
to kbm.denmark: "I have a Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter without Module (Mode 2) (v2 Firmware)" I am confused about "without Module" if you dont have transmitter module - you cant bind! about bind - "HOW TO BIND NEW RECIVER: 1. Ignore the "BIND" and BAT order, 2. Plug Battery into BIND pins 3. Plug bind cord (cable) into BAT pins red led will start flashing 4. Hold the "BIND RANGE BUTTON" on TX 5. Turn ON the TX (hold still button). 6. Red LED will stay ON, Turn Off TX, unplug battery, remove bind cord. Thats all"
 kbm.denmark 21 points
Ive come to the constant red light..also on hk 4x transmitter with rx, and esc twin in a y setup...but nothing happens when I pull joysticks up/down???
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Guys (kbm) what are you calling "a module". The Turingy9XV2(SKU: TX-9X-M2) come with the Module. The Turingy9XV2 (SKU: 9114000004) has no Module. This Tx will not bind to anything with out a module. You can use it as a Trainer on your Pc and Buddy (slave) with it though. PLEASE this item in the listing is not a Module it is a Receiver!!!

Hello! Can anybody tell me, will it work with FlySky FS-TH9X (turnigy clone) transmitter with FS-TM001 2.4GHz module? I cannot bind it. Reciever blinking red, and nothing happens when i trying to bind it. Thanks!
 hermit81 1626 points
receiver from flysky must bind as well as receiver from turnigy
 v_max 404 points
NOPE FS-TM001 is analog of turnigy v1 module. FS-TM002 is analog for turnigy v2 module. V2 RX are bindable with both V1 and V2 modules. but not vice versa... So in your case must work. Do you put binding connector on right BIND pins? This receiver has separate bind pins , unlike most others which binds on bat connector.
 hermit81 1626 points
HOW TO BIND NEW RECIVER: 1. Thats all

hermit, i did it by your instruction, till step 6. receiver LED continues blinking. But i will try to bind it again tomorrow. Thanks!
Sigrm  15 points - 5/14/2013

Ok, so my brain suddenly stopped working yesterday, and as a result I connected a 3S Zippy 500mah directly into this while binding with the transmitter. However, the blinking light inside acted all normal. I have no servos or ESCs to test wether it is ruined or not, any ideas on how to test it?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Sigrm 4 x AA batteries will do as a test power source for receiver. You need a power source of 4.5 to 6.5 volts. So if it is bound, when you turn the Transmitter on and have the receiver (RX) powered, then the Rx Led will go solid red. If it is not bound put your bound plug on your RX. Power the Rx up. The Red LED will be flashing if the Rx is working. If not, some thing is wrong. (ie burnt out Rx or Burnt Rx Led)
 Melissa 163 points
I did that with a 2s burned it out u got lucky
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Melissa a 2s is 2 x 3.7V = 7.4 volts. Fully charged it is 8.4 volts. That is why you burnt out your receiver SORRY! Max voltage is 6.5v.
 Sigrm 15 points
Well, note that mine was 3S -> somewhere between 11,1V and 12,6V. So yeah, I guess was lucky. I haven't tested it properly after that, so it might not work even though the light blinked like it should.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Sigrm so if it is blinking (once you have a receiver power source) you can try to bind it to you transmitter!

Dear, can I fit on a 9XR ? Thanks.
 hermit81 1626 points
its receiver. you need transmitter module.
 EODPete 181 points
I dont think that they sell the module for this reciever seperatly and I have not seen the 9XR come with a module. Long story short, no you cant use it.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Xavier we all know you need the correct module for this receiver to work with the 9XR. To date Turnigy do not make a compatible one. So we are forced, if you want to up grade to the 9XR and have a heap of Turnigy and HobbyKing receivers, to go buy a FlySky Module or mod a old Turnigy9XV2 module.

Hi everybody my antenna broke at the base of it so stripped back some housing tined both wires and put em back on the board now when i turn my back(with tx in hand) it looses signal i even went extreme and had an old spektrum rx antenna i neatly sawed off the plug complete with traces from the old module and nicely installed it onthe turnigy rx so i can plug in the antenna but it doesnt even improve at all can someone PLEASE give me some insight to the obvious problem im not getting with this rx THANKS SO MUCH
 v_max 404 points
If you switched ON TX without antenna attached then you probably killed you TX module. TX output usully do not survive this.
 Melissa 163 points
The tx is fine i think but the rx antenna is now a little shorter and im guessin thats why my range is so poor
 v_max 404 points
Stock RX antenna consists of coax wire with a shrink tube at the end. The lengh of coax wire doesn't matter. it can be shorter or logger...Actual work do the end part of antenna which is in shrink tube. So if this part is unchanged then...... When you do soldering I hope you soldered both parts? (coax center wire and coax outer one) This two parts of coax are soldered to different pads. Check you do not shorten this 2 pads while soldering. If soldering is OK then we can guess two things... either you soldered it to hard and the coax is shortened inside, either center wire is broken somewhere inside coax. You can check both problems with ommeter.
 Melissa 163 points
Shorten the pads?and how do you solder something too hard .....thanks
 v_max 404 points
nope, I mean antenna wire... it a coax wire with very thing central wire inside the outer. Usually inner isnulation is polyethilen so when you solder, it melt easy and shorten outer and inner wires You need very strong soldering skills to solder this very thing coax right way.
 Melissa 163 points
its not shorted and i can solder quite well so im just going to have to buy a new one
 v_max 404 points
Check with ommeter for shortening. You also can check with ommeter the central wire is not broken somewhere inside, you would need to cut shrink tube to check from end to end..... BTW, may be it's time to do cloverleaf antennas instead.. (google for "Build IBCrazy's Cloverleaf")

I want to add lighting system, 3 axis gyro and retracts to my f-18 and wonder where to put them in rx?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Tommy so what channels are you using now? Ch1 will be Ail, Ch2 Ele, Ch3 Thr, Ch4 rud, Ch5 5 retracts, Ch 6 Mix of Ail to ch 1, ch 7 lights, You coulld use channel 8 to turn you gyro on or off. But it will need to be wired into channel 1 to 4. Quite complex!
 idefix.1972 21 points
Hi, you have to put your Servos for ELEV, AIL, Flaps etc. to your 3axis Gyro. Then you need to wire the 3axis to your receiver. Just the wires you need. After that you can wire the retracts- servos to the transmitter. Put also the lightning in the receiver. Then you have to progg the 3axis with your PC.I would put the retracts to the channel "gear" an the lightnings to channel AUX1 in the receiver. Which channel it is you can see in the display menue. Greetings from germany and have fun with your F-18. Kai

What channels can I use as AUX channels and how many can I use as AUX?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Tommy it really depends what you are doing with the channels. As least ch 5 to ch 8 can be Aux. But if you are not in a plane ch 1 and ch 4 can do whatever you like. I hope this helps. What are you building.

I am very satisfied with this unit ... I ordered it like five, and five operate.

how do you lose the range of 100 m? you have made several tests?

At the range I could be tested only 3 for now but the three were perfect (almost invisible models) ZERO problem.

This module weight 19grammes. if we remove the box and two screws, its total weight is 9grammes.

it is also possible to unsolder the connection plate and solder directly servos wires on the rx ( lot of place, very easy ).The final weight drops to 7 grams

definitely a great product

lub
