From the picture, it seems that the deflectors are before the fan. Is this the case?
They should be after to minimize the rotation of the airflow?

Have a look at: Turnigy 2836 3200kv HK2836 3500kv Typhoon 450H 2218H 3450kv
I've had great success (1kW peak) with the Turnigy 2836 3700kv in a 6904 fan on 4S.

This is a WM400 knock-off minus the exit cone. Note that it is a pusher - the motor is in front of the rotor. It will pull more amps and handle a lot more power than the 6904 Het fan. to get the most of it you'll need lower Kv and higher cell count, if it is like the WM say 5 or 6S and 1.5 KW+

28mm motor will fit. Motor of about 3000-3600kv on 4 cells or 2200-2800 on 5 cells. on 4cells it wil draw about 60-70 amps and 5 cell set-up should draw about 48-58 amps but will be stronger than 4 cell set-up.

I have tested with a 2215 3500kva motor and pulled 700Wp on 4S - that's around 25% more than a Wemo with that same motor. As supplied it required a bit of dremel work to fit that motor because the 4 mount holes are 45 degrees off for an out runner and the wires conflict with the stator blades. also the motor will need a long shaft - the 2215 has a 16mm 3.17mm shaft and I had to drill the centre hole out to 10mm and grind the housing in order to bring the collet 'home'. There is zero thru-flow air cooling? Again had to drill 4 cooling holes to let air pass-thru the housing? Not sure what the cloners were thinking - On the other hand the fan rotor is well made and static balance was 100% right off the bat. Dynamic balance was still required. Two collets supplied with the motor 3.00mm and 3.17mm 1/8th. I am going to run mine a fair bit on the test bench before commiting it to an airframe.

I will let you know of the results.. e-mail me at paul_constantino*hotmail**** if you are interested but I will have to wait for the slow processing of HK to move and send my order
